I went to Ann's Nail Salon with my friend for a little birthday treat. My friend got a gel manicure and absolutely loved it--no complaints, no chipping, and her nails looked super glossy and perfect. My experience, however, was a bit more mixed. I decided to get short acrylics for my birthday, and while they turned out okay, the process was a little rough. When it came time to choose my nail color, I asked for something a bit lighter, but the nail tech insisted on using a much darker pink. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, and I wish she would've let me pick without pushing her preference. During the prep, things got uncomfortable. She trimmed my cuticles a little too aggressively, and they started burning almost immediately. Then she over-filed them, which made it worse. When she added primer and acetone, I actually winced both times--it really stung. To be fair, the actual acrylic application looked smooth, and the nails did come out looking close to the picture I showed her. One nail was filed a little unevenly, but overall, they still looked nice enough for my birthday. What really threw me off was the price at checkout. My friend's gel manicure was $50, mine was $70, and then I added a $10 tip--$130 total for two sets. That felt really steep, especially considering the discomfort and small mistakes during my appointment. On the bright side, the salon itself was clean, organized, and I noticed they sanitized all the tools and stations after every client, which I really appreciated. Overall, I'd say the results were decent and the salon was very clean, but the pain during the service and the high prices make me hesitant to go back. read more

I came here (Lutz location in the Publix shopping center at County Line and Livingston) after leaving another shop (not related to Ann's) where I continued to have issues with gel nails chipping and lifting and always being blamed myself for it. Annie, the shop manager at Ann's took my poor nails under her wing and worked her magic with the ibd gel product and I've been sooooo happy ever since. They are so natural looking (not thick and chunky like a lot of acrylic techs do) and are so strong. I never have problems with them. Soo happy to have found Annie. All of the techs seem nice and knowledgeable. As far as pedicures go, Andy is my favorite!!! He pays such close attention to detail, so friendly, and the massage part is my absolute favorite. The interior is wonderful but the staff is only mediocre. During the service, i was cut three times but this was the biggest. I eventually had to tell the tech she had to slow the drill down because I could feel the friction on my nail. I have never felt more stressed at a nail salon in my life. She kept dropping the tools lazily on my hand and even though they look great, it seemed like she just wanted it to be over with which i didn't appreciate. I went to the counter and showed them what happened (with blood on my finger!) and literally had to ASK for them to drop my bill lower which they did by only 5 dollars and they didn't even seem apologetic. Another reviewer mentioned they charge for EVERYTHING and he's not wrong. They charged for every little thing and then couldn't even give a refund much less give me at least 10-15 dollars off. read more

I first went to this place when they first opened around 10 months ago and I was happy. I was excited that a nail spot opened so close to home and the tech did a wonderful job. Since then, the quality of service has declined and the price has gotten more expensive. I've been getting powder dip gel, manicures for many, many years. The last few times I went to this salon, the gel on my nails has shattered, chipped, and broke off, causing my nails to in turn break. Corners broke off. I'm not in the nail business, so I'm not sure if it is due to the quality of the product or the staff. I'm not hard to please, and I believe in supporting local businesses, so if you're asking why I went back, I did so thinking that talking to the manager, and asking for an experienced technician would suffice. This past Sunday, I went in because my nails were disaster from the last services I received just two weeks ago. I showed the manager and she agreed it was not acceptable. I asked for an experienced technician and picked out my color. My technician was wonderful. My real problem was with the woman who I believe was the manager. I picked my color and asked that the same color be put on my toes with regular gel. Common request. Most salons have matching colors in various products. My pedicure was done beautifully. When we got to my nails and the tech started putting the color on it was clearly not the same color. I questioned the technician who then called the manager over. That's when the real problem started. I have never in my life had someone speak to me in such a way. The manager blamed the manufacturer, saying it's not her fault, and was basically arguing with me about the colors being different. My toes were orange and the color that was being applied to my nails was hot Pink. She made me and the nail tech feel uncomfortable. I felt so bad for this girl, she was sinking in her seat with embarrassment as a manager was speaking to me in an unacceptable manner and tone. Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but all she had to say was I'm sorry about that, let's fix it. But she went on and on, yelling at me like it was my fault that the colors weren't the same. She went on and on about how there are thousands of colors and she can't possibly make sure they all match in an angry high tone. I asked her to please not yell at me and her response was " This is how I talk ". I suggested that perhaps somebody check the colors before they go and claim that they match since both of the products were clearly marked with the same number. She told the technician to switch to the regular gel polish that she put in my toes. I didn't go there for a gel manicure. I went there for powder dip. She told the tech to continue with that color and to put the gel color that was on my toes on my nails as the cover coat. When I checked out, $130 for me $58 for my mom (basic mani pedi - her cuticles bleeding by the way), I asked her to please remove the polish on my skin and remove my name from their database and told her I would not be coming back. She proceeded to raise her voice at me again, in front of customers and a little girl waiting with her dad to check in. I asked when the owner would be there. Clearly this is not acceptable customer service. She said she doesn't know. Of course! Maybe she's the owner? I don't know. All I can say is they lost a customer. Probably a few. There are plenty of nail salons around that I can give my money to. Things happen. Mistakes happen. It's how you handle it that separates you from the rest. Usually when I go into Ann's I'm greeted by the friendly staff and immediately asked "What can we do for you?" Today I was ignored for about 15 minutes after entering my information on the kiosk which told me i'd be serviced shortly. I requested Moon and was given a completely different nail tech. She did horrible. I asked for french and attached is what I got, I paid $66 for this and left unhappy because I was already late for work due to how long she took. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area and had been searching high and low for a new nail salon. We were able to make a last-minute appointment for manis and pedis. Although, there was a small wait, the staff was very attentive while we waited. Alan performed my services (dip manicure and pedicure) and he was very meticulous which I appreciated. The customer service here is awful. Don't waste your money. Every time I've been here, they pressure you to add on something. This past time I went for my daughter. She had acrylics put on. She asked about a nail color and was told that's only in gel so we agreed. We go to checkout and she charged $5 to file my daughter's nails in an almond shape because she said that's extra, and $6 extra for a design which she explained was the polish. I told her she said it was the gel. Not only that, but my daughter has hyperhydrosis and she humiliated her by not only pointing it out to her but to other techs and then me. When she pointed it out to other techs, they came by and were laughing as our tech was talking. My daughter heard her say things in English like that's ok, I gave her towel. My daughter said she never wanted to return and I don't blame her. I told the lady I wouldn't be back because of how she treated my daughter and it didn't phase her. read more
