We went on a Sunday for brunch and they were super busy....like an hour wait for a 6 person table. We checked in online so that cut down on the wait. It was a beautiful morning so we opted to sit outside. The only downside was that we waited about an hour before we got our food. However, the food was just amazing! I got the biscuits and gravy. By far the best I have ever eaten! The sausage patties tasted like they were homemade. Delicious!! This is also a military friendly restaurant and gave a discount. It's a great place for breakfast! I've been to Auburn several times to visit friends and this was the first time we were able to get in relatively easily. My brother, sister in law and I came to have brunch today. I've been there before and had a good experience. While today the food and drinks were great our server, Christopher was very snippy and said some unnecessary comments throughout our entire meal. At the end of our meal my sister in law and I went to the bathroom and while my brother was sitting at the table alone our server came up. He said "how old are you really? You really should be more careful with that ID" very sassily and walked off before he had the chance to say anything. My brother just turned 23 and is definitely of age and married, while he may look younger, the situation should've never been handled like that. Especially since he said this after he served him alcohol... if he had concerns shouldn't he have questioned that before serving him? We left very angry and disappointed. read more

We live an hr away I called and she said go on line and get on the waiting list , we were # 30 for a table for 7, we shopped until our wait # dropped to 8 arrived at the restaurant two hrs later , and no table ready yet ! The two ladies up front were on two totally different pages , our wait list was next in line and one of the ladies said we still had to wait out side , while the other lady said your table is ready just waiting on a server.2 hrs later we were seated . We were given 1hr 15 min - 1hr 30 min wait time. We kindly waited only to watch our names go down on the list as more people arrived. At the 1 1/2 hr Mark, i went in to let them know that we have watched our name go down on the list as a large party got sat. The hostess said they have a reservation (and the site said no reservations, but obviously if you know someone there is) and I kindly said and so have we for 1 1/2 hours. We arrived at around 9:45am and were told an hour wait for 3. We waited until 11:20 and were still at 11th on the waitlist, had been at that spot for over an hour. There were no parties over 5 people on the waitlist according to Yelp and then a group of 10 girls went inside and I literally watched a party of 10 pop up at the #1 spot on the waitlist. They waited around 20 minutes and were seated. We still were 11th on the waitlist. I love this company but I will never eat at the Opelika, AL restaurant. Went there on Friday I was disappointed to say the least. The service was bad workers were bickering in front of customers. I ate then made a to go order that had to be sent back at least three times. The waiter snatched my order out my hands when I told him the order was still wrong. Busy Sunday which is understandable, but after being seated we waited about 15 minutes for a waitress to come get our drink order and after ordering drinks and food we did not see our waitress for another hour. Once we see her, she comes to us and says "we have a crisis we ran out of potatoes." After that we decided to leave as there was no communication and we were starving. We went to tell the manager and he said he was sorry. As we walked out and drove off we still see the manager cutting up with his pals in the front instead of going to speak with kitchen or see what was wrong in the kitchen. Today, I had the absolute displeasure of watching the front manager completely disregard my friend's complaints about her food. I decided to take my friend out to lunch at the Opelika location. My friend, a Maryland native, ordered the crab cake Benedict but promptly realized the crab didn't taste right. She literally took one bite of the crab cake and expressed her disdain. As a sous chef, I told her to send the plate back. That if there was a fundamental issue with the dish, the manager would alert the kitchen staff and they would fix her food or allow her to order something new. She offered to keep the side dish in exchange for just having a different protein to go with it. Our server- who was super sweet about the whole ordeal- notified the manager of the issue. He comes to the table and after having the problem re-explained by my friend, proceeds to tell us not only do we have to pay for that dish, but pay for the replacement meal she wanted to order. Seeing the confusion on our faces, he tries to explain that this is corporate policy. So we ask where we can find this corporate policy. He says that it's a verbal policy. She asks for the CORPORATE number and he gives her the GENERAL MANAGER'S number. The general manager then explains that it wasn't his fault that she found issues with the dish. Says the restaurant was a corporate franchise, but privately owned. Let's go through the staff's mistakes, shall we? 1.) My friend had an issue with the CRAB in the CRAB CAKE. That is a viable reason to have the dish replaced. Period. 2.) She didn't eat the entire dish. Didn't eat half. Didn't eat a quarter. She took a bite and realized it wasn't to standard and asked for something else. Another acceptable reason to have the dish replaced free of charge. 3.) What corporate policy isn't put in writing? What legitimate rule was EVER enforced without it being in writing? We aren't talking about calling dibs or shotgun, you're playing with a customers money and-quite frankly- the reputation of the restaurant. 4.) The general manger had the audacity to tell my friend that it wasn't their fault she had an issue. So whose fault is it? 5.) The manager didn't even TRY to remedy the problem. He attempted to string a bunch of big words together in hopes that no one at the table would understand or dispute him. 6.) I don't care if the restaurant is privately owned, if you are a part of a corporation, you represent that CORPORATION. It doesn't matter if it is you, your neighbor or your pastor who owns that building, if a company's logo is on the door you abide by THEIR rules, because you're an ambassador for THEIR business. I have NEVER heard of anything like this happening at any restaurant I've eaten or worked at. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed in what happened. I have been to this establishment and the servers have been nothing but sweet. This was my first time speaking with this particular manager. What we thought was supposed to be a quick conversation and an even quicker fix turned into an entire ordeal. It was embarrassing, and by embarrassing I'm talking about the manager. He should be ashamed. read more

Waited an hour and 30 minutes for food, they forgot 3 meals, way overpriced, won't be coming back

The two times I have gone here I've not had to wait for a table for more than a couple of minutes. Food is on the more expensive side, but this is more than made up by the extensive menu. Wait staff was friendly and professional. However, I was not terribly impressed by the food, I've had tastier food elsewhere. I would go back though were it not for the extremely noisy atmosphere... I had a very difficult time hearing my table mate, and as we left she wondered why more money was not spent on better acoustics. read more

Amazing New Breakfast Spot in Auburn / Opelika right off I-85 on Bent Creek. The staff and owner were super friendly. Ignore the initial negative reviews. Weekends in a college town can be busy anywhere you go and a long wait at a great new place like Another Broken Egg is to be expected for the first few months. I have been to a few of their other locations and this one is top notch. I was there last Thursday morning, food came out quick, was prepared to perfection and my coffee was always topped off by the attentive wait staff. The new decor is a big upgrade over the original Broken Egg locations. Highly recommended this one, especially the City Grits, just maybe not on a Saturday or Sunday. read more
