I ordered the following and here are my thoughts. The cheese stix were ok. They had no parsley, no oregano, or any green herb. The breading was subpar. The marinara sauce was very underwhelming. The fries were not hot (lukewarm at best) & lacked salt and crispness. The angry sauce had a spicy aroma but lacked kick. The bun looked flimsy and should have been buttered. Terrible Service. Took 15 minutes to get a beer. We (4 people) waited for our main food for an hour and a half just to be told that it will be another 30 minutes. We asked for the bill and they didn't comp anything. It's not like they are cooking 5-star food so this is unacceptable. read more

I've been to most Jefferson's in the last 25+ years including many visits to the original so I was happy to see this one in Opelika as I was passing through. Food was good... but two beer tap options were dry, and service was thin (staffing). Otherwise it was good. Will try again when in the area. read more

My friend and I came here for lunch and an hour later were both having to run out of the shop we were in to go to the bathroom. My friend was having hot flashes and dizziness as well and almost passed out. I am not sure what they cooked their food in I'm guessing very old, uncleaned greasy surfaces but we have never had reactions to food like this before and both often eat Taco Bell and other fast food often. I've always heard that Jefferson's has really good wings so we gave them a try recently. The wings were the perfect size and were cooked just right. I tried the Buffalo hot flavor and was disappointed as it was lacking in flavor and heat. I asked for a side of the next level up but it was a totally different sauce and not what I was looking for. Others in the group tried the oyster poboy, buffalo jalapeño oysters, and a burger. It seems that this place is run by morons. By the time they fixed the bill of two people that ordered two entrees and a tea it looked like the old testament what was voided. Of course the order was not correct, and when we left Abbie charged us twice to our card. When calling the restaurant it is still not corrected three days after double charges that are no longer pending on the card but charged through. Corporate and Local Owner you cannot get hold of. The owners are crap, the site is not managed as you have to wait for the owners to come in from their other job, Jeffersons corporate is still silent after contacting them Monday Morning and it is now Wednesday Night. read more

I went here for a nice dinner and the staff was not very hospitable from the beginning. We were sat on the patio and it was too hot so we asked to move inside and management told us this was not possible even though everyone else was being sat inside (keep in mind we are the only non-white people at the restaurant) and it was not very busy. We had some issues with our food including a hair in one of the items, and management refused to compensate, saying this was out of their control. I do not recommend eating here. read more

Absolutely horrible. I came here for my lunch break and thought that it would be a nice place to get a sandwich, but I was very wrong. They restaurant is understaffed so the waitresses were running around everywhere, I got chicken fingers and they were dripping in grease, and the fries were still half frozen. A beautiful night to celebrate birthdays on Jefferson's amazing outdoor patio. The tables were spread out to allow social distancing. Sidewalk chalk was available to entertain the kiddos. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and the patio wall covered in greenery is the perfect backdrop for photos. Our waitress, Ashlyn was attentive and confident providing food suggestions. She frequently stopped by for refills, etc. We started off with cheese sticks and macaroni and cheese bites. They came quickly, were hot and delicious. I had fried pickle burger and crinkle fries and ate every last bite. I know my burgers and Jefferson's blows Niffer's away. Friends had the Philly Cheesesteak, quesadillas, shrimp po boy and chicken fingers. Everything was served perfectly. I cant wait for my next visit. read more

We're local to Opelika and always do our best to support our restaurant community.....we've had takeout from Jefferson's and it was great....however, we dined in and it was a completely different experience. Our waitress had a bad attitude when we walked in, but we gave her grace because she was the ONLY waitress running food and drinks to several tables. I admit it was 8pm when we ate dinner because of sports, but they don't close until 9 so we didn't think it was a problem. Ordered raw oysters and they were notttt the freshest tasting along with only one fork, no appetizer plates or anyone checking on us...there was a bartender and hostess not really doing much until the bartender had to start cleaning because it was now approaching 9pm. Then waited over an HOUR for our food only for it to come out of the kitchen cold. Highly disappointed at the quality for the $100 price tag. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

I have been to Jefferson's in Anniston and was excited to see this one in old town. I can only review the Philly cheesesteak and onion rings. Grease poured out of the onion rings... the philly tasted like it had been microwaved and the bun was greasy, but the meat was dry. Inedible. The wait staff were dressed sloppy and one had their 3-4 year old child in there with a pacifier in his mouth running in and out. The tea was good and the french fry i had off of my friend's plate tasted fine. The place just felt like a dive... not the good kind. Wish we had gone to niffer's next door... Next Day: I made an order of onion rings here at my job to see if it was the nature of frozen onion rings.. (which those obviously were) and they came out perfect... tested them on two customers and myself... squeezed them to test for grease... not one drop... nice crispy delicious onion rings... read more

My husband and I ate at Jefferson's last night, and I must say it was AWESOME! Their wings are definitely the best I have had in quite some time. Plus the service was great! Was craving a philly cheesesteaks and this place really came through!!! The servers and bartender were extremely respectful. The food was very tasty. My only complaint that my philly felt rushed. The peppers and meat weren't chopped up so it was hard to chew. read more

My first visit to Jefferson's was not a good one; however, I've been back numerous times now, and each time is delicious! I've even taken my family here when they come to visit. On my first visit I ordered a Ceasar salad that had so much dressing on it, I could've eaten it with a spoon. The dressing wasn't even good. The cook HAD to know that when the chicken is swimming, you've put a little too much on it! My husband and I decided to give it another try in hopes it was just a fluke. I haven't ordered a salad again, for fear it may be another terrible experience, but I have found a couple of dishes that I LOVE! Hands down my favorite item on the menu is the chicken finger sandwich, with the chicken tossed in the medium wing sauce. Their sweet and sassy sauce is also pretty amazing. It's like a honey mustard meets bbq sauce that's exactly as the name suggests, a little sweet and a little bite to it. My husband loves the philly sandwich. It's fully of ooey gooey cheesey goodness! I've tried their regular fries and they are just okay, but their curly fries are really good. My only real complaint about this place is the service. We usually have to wait a few minutes for a table, but that's expected since it's a pretty small place. With that being said, there's no reason it should take twenty minutes before the waitress realizes your cup is empty. There always seems to be enough servers to go around, but the service is continually at a snail's pace. The servers are always friendly, so I try to be patient. It's something they really need to work on, though. All in all, I'm a fan of Jefferson's. I just know it's never going to be a quick meal. read more

I was excited to bring family here for a belated birthday event and this visit was very disappointing. I have been in the past, years past. The decor has been changed for the better but the staff missed the upgrade! The service was terrible, had to ASK for an appetizer even though they pride themselves in an amazing fried pickle app. I initially felt bad cause I only saw two servers for a fairly full dining room, then I went to the restroom and counted at least 4 servers in addition to adequate kitchen staff! Waited forever for drink refills and our food took forever as well. When our food did arrived it was mediocre at best. It was warm and it was what we ordered but it was also the quality of a high end fast food joint. Sadly we won't be returning, especially when next door (on both sides) is great competition with much better service! read more
