However I was mostly disappointed by the cafe- aside from the immaculately clean bathrooms which is a most with this bug going around. Aside from that I felt like I was at a Denny's that tried to be fancy, which isn't all bad cause I love Denny's. There was too much milk in my cold brew and the potatoes were lackluster. I was disappointed in the service. We were taken to our table which had not yet been cleared. It took almost an hour to get our meal. I was served ice tea in a glass with a very large crack in it. Wife and I had bkfst on 1/23/2025 at 10am at the ABE on Woodruff Road in Greenville SC. No line and parking available right by door. McKenzie L was our waitress. Very pleasant young lady. Took our coffee order and gave us a few min to decide. I had the Hey Lucy omelet, wife had the Supreme omelet (w/ added spinach & tomato). Wife asked for potatoes to be crisped more before order, and extra creamer for our coffees. McKenzie was very prompt, bringing us both our drinks and a huge bowl of indiv creamers. Plus a point for the extra creamer. We got our meals and although I didn't notice, the kitchen failed to put the avocado on top as the photo on the menu portrayed. Kitchen loses a point. Omelets were a bit over cooked. The chorizo in my omelet was just spicy enough to shine through. Green chilis although present were minimal and almost an afterthought. Wife's potatoes did come out extra crispy so plus a point. McKenzie kept our coffee cups full and made sure everything on her end went well. Price is a buck or two more than what you'd get at a typical chain restaurant (IHOP, Cracker Barrel, etc), but the choices aren't the usual either, they're unique. Crowd was moderate I'd say, several tables were full but there were open seats as well. Several tables were flipped with out-going and in-coming customers. McKenzie get's 5-stars for her upbeat welcome and taking care of us so well. Kitchen 3 1/2 stars, food was hot and tasted good but forgot ingredients and over cooked. I'd eat here again. Maybe ask for McKenzie's table, unless I'm going that day and don't, so I'll get great service, and you'll have to roll the dice. Sorry no pictures this time. My boyfriend and I went for breakfast and it wasn't a hot morning so we sat outside on the patio. I don't remember my servers name but she was pretty good. Being a server, I could tell by her demeanor she felt she wasn't going to get a decent tip from us but she still did a pretty good job. Anywho, that didn't interrupt the dining. The shrimp and grits were even better than the first time I tried them. The cook must've thrown a little extra cheese into the grits because the creaminess and thickness of them was perfect for me. I had a cranberry mimosa and it was SUPER bubbly, which didn't bother me at all (wink, wink). I love the brunch options at this place, much better than Eggs Up in my opinion. When I first visited an Another Broken Egg, I was really excited to see that they have GF pancakes, and especially flavored pancakes. But in visiting this one a couple of times, I just don't feel that it is meeting expectations. Yes, they still have the GF pancakes, and that's good. But they got my order wrong; I didn't want goat cheese in my blueberry/lemon pancakes. That's just nasty. When someone doesn't get your order right, and, apparently, doesn't check it to make sure it's right, you have to wonder if you even got the GF pancakes. Also, I didn't care for the coffee. Any place that markets itself as a breakfast restaurant should have a top-notch coffee; maybe two coffees. Don't skimp on this! Our pomegranate seeds were fermented too. They only took off $5 per person. The manager Rob gave us two free meal vouchers which was nice. Skip ahead to today, when we were going to redeem them. We order our food after a very long wait because the server didn't realize we were in her section. The berry pancakes had, you guessed it, ANOTHER hair. The manager profusely apologized and comped our whole meal and brought out new pancakes. Booths and tables surrounded with four walls. Another Broken Egg was much more pleasant. I was pleased with the service. Food was great - I did get an omelette and was quite pleased. Good high quality ingredients, well executed. Coffee was perfectly fine. Our server kept the cups full. They serve bloody Marys, etc. So that's a plus. They also have some really good premium coffee. The host was extremely friendly when I arrived - when I mentioned I had not been to the restaurant before, he gave me a few recommendations - I ended up ordering the Monterrey Omelette that he suggested, which was really good! My server also noted that for new customers they give you a half order of complimentary biscuit beignets, which were really delicious. I'd consider just getting these my next trip! It's a little pricey but the food is good - they have a lot of light options too for the calorie conscious. My only complaint when I was here was that it took 35 minutes to bring out the food - I was here early on a weekday, the restaurant wasn't full, but it felt like a really long time for a few breakfast meals.
