This was the most horrible restaurant experience we've ever had. Do not go to this restaurant. First, we waited more time than was estimated for our table. The hostess had attitude as well as every server that came to our table. We asked to be seated inside no one came so we seated ourselves at a dirty table. It took 15 minutes With two weight staff that had serious attitude to wipe our table with a napkin. No disinfectant. I wonder what they're doing in the kitchen? I wouldn't trust it if I were you. We got up and walked out. Nobody said a word. No one made any effort to amend the situation.this place should be out of business or the manager fired. I ordered for the first time. My placed my order was acknowledged at 8:29 to be ready at 8:48. I arrived shortly after and a woman in a burgundy shirt looked me in the face and turned around. No greeting. Not be with you in a moment. I then waited to the hostess who provided me with a sigh and a greeting of "How many". I informed her I ordered online, and she asked my name and then let me know she would let me know when my food was ready without even checking the bags on the table in the main room. I had to again ask her to check my order and she asked me my name AGAIN and brought me the bag at 9:02. Of course, my food was cold, but I did not have time to wait and ask to have it remade. It basically took 32 minutes to get 20.00 dollars' worth of cold food (shrimp and grits) with a big old side of rudeness and incompetency. Needless to say, I mentioned this when I got to work and not one of the 4 people, I spoke to has had a positive experience with your place. That was the first and absolutely the only time I will patronize your restaurant. I case you are not aware (I'm sure you are) Woodruff Rd is rife with places to eat and It's a journey to get to any of them due to traffic. I rarely go to Woodruff rd. unless I have to for an appointment and to get up early and to go out of my way to try your restaurant told me I should always follow my first instinct and stay local. I would like a refund as the food and treatment were not up to my standards and certainly not Greenville's. I would have address this with the manager but clearly, they hired those people so I would doubt they would care. read more

This spot is a good place to grab a quick wholesome bite. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean. The staff are attentive and friendly. They kept checking in to make sure we had the best experience. The food was good but it was missing some flavor. I ordered the lobster and Brie omelette. It was very creamy but I didn't think it was amazing. I also ordered the Lucy omelette but a little too over greased for my liking. The spiked vanilla caramel brew was delicious! First time trying it and probably not my last! We have came here before, however, this time was probably our favorite. My family and I live in Greenville and have visited this location several times. This time our waiter was Zane, he was extremely knowledgeable of their menu and provided amazing customer service. I order the shrimp and grits, however, when i mentioned i do not prefer andouille sausage, he suggest the chicken sausage they offer. He came back several times throughout our meal to check in on us and was very pleasant and funny. Thank you Zane for a wonderful experience. read more

Those of you who follow me know I enjoy trying new restaurants. Also, breakfast is my favorite meal. With that in mind, I have driven by ABEC and finally decided to give them a try. We arrived around 8:20 AM this morning and there were only three tables full. Four or five tables filled while we were there. The hostess sat us immediately. While waiting we did notice the ceiling fans were filthy. CLEAN your place man! After 10 minutes of waiting for service I sought the hostess seeking help to find a waiter. The waiters were huddled near a bar area. The hostess made contact and about 5 minutes later we were waiting when a waitress arrived and said she didn't know she had to wait on us. When folks don't know their jobs, there are major leadership and/or personnel problems. The first impression after looking at the menu is this place is expensive! Stax Omega type of money or even a little more. Also, the menu is a little convoluted without things like a Country Breakfast, Farmer's Breakfast, Hungry Breakfast, Waffles, etc... They do offer items found on the shore like Shrimp & Grits, Crab Omelettes and Eggs Benedict. Coffees are about $3.50 a piece and are only warmed after seeking and asking the waiter. Our waitress (Elizabeth) was aloof at best. We ordered 2 coffees and received 3 and even after sending 1 back were initially charged for 3. Watch your checks for overcharging. I ordered a Fennel Omelette, my wife ordered a 2-egg breakfast with Sweet Ham and Potatoes, and my son ordered Shrimp & Grits. The meals arrived 10 minutes later minus the Sweet Ham. The Ham arrived 10 minutes after the meal--another example of no leadership or lack of procedures in place. The Fennel Omelette with Grits were good. Also, my son enjoyed his Shrimp & Grits. My wife's Potatoes were just deep fried frozen chunks and void of flavor. The Sweet Ham after making a late appearance was extremely smokey but lacked the usual sweetness--It is not recommended. The bottom line is the restaurant has some average chow--Though not consistent across the board. Also, the service stinks, in a "I don't care kinda way." FYI: The English Muffin means a half of English Muffin. I feel like it was a 1-Star place though the Omelette was 3-Star chow. So, I will show mercy and give them 2-Stars. Not really sure why. You can do better everywhere else. Not to mention the service is better any where else in town. ABEC, if you're going to charge $50.00 for breakfast for 3 people, make sure it's a good experience or you won't make it in Greenville. Sooner or later you'll lose the New Car Smell and we'll bale out. read more

One word......beignet! they give you 4 hot and sweet darlings almost a spoon as you sit down! let me just say right now that ever since I had my first real beignet at Cafe du Monde I have been spoiled and a snob. That being said Another Broken eggs version was not bad. I little too crunchy but not bad. The rest of the breakfast that my wife and I enjoyed was very good. the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food came out quickly and it was hot. the menu was inventive and fresh for a dinner/restaurant and I really enjoyed the change. I would return in a heartbeat. Saturday noon wait time of 20 -30 minutes for 2, and I would've waited longer for better seating since we sat in the back corner at a high top. Another great breakfast place on Woodruff! We usually go here about once a month, and it's always so good. They routinely have new and exciting menu options, and the regular menu has some great choices. This last time I got the Brisket Benedict from the special fall menu, and holy moly was it delicious! The brisket was cooked perfectly, the poached eggs were great, the BBQ sauce was amazing, and the jalapeño cheddar cornbread waffle was a great base. Came here today with a party of six. Yes, we had to wait a while. However, the food is always worth the wait. But on top of the best breakfast in town, we also had the best service. Alexis was hands down the best server we have ever had here. She was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and always on top of her game. As four of the people in our party had never been here before, Alexis was able to answer questions about the menu and offer up suggestions. I had an unforgettable expierence as it was my first time in this establishment. I ordered the Lemon Blueberry n Goat Cheese pancakes. The flavor combination was very unique and they are certainlyy new favorite style of pancakes. This is an updated review. My friend got there before me. He gets seated, and waits for about 10 minutes, and no one even takes his drink order. So he goes and orders his drink at the bar. He notices the big table he's sitting next to isn't even getting refills on drinks. Fast forward to when I get there. She asks for my ID, which I don't have a problem with. I get to my car and comeback, she already gives me a glass for the mimosa. The waitress, Shannon (spelling?) doesn't even fill my friend's water. We had to ask another waitress. I order my food and when it comes out; perfect. The food is delicious. I ask for maple service, she brings one of the little mini bottles. So when the check comes out I'm charged for maple syrup. Here's what gets me: they have maple syrup that's in the pouring things like they have at Waffle House and IHOP. I saw another waitress bring it out and ended up giving a woman the sugar free syrup. So yes, I'm being petty to update my review. The food is always good. But the service gets worse. I thought last time with the general manager being rude. But this tops it. When I got my food the pancakes were dry and dedicated. The shrimp and grits had more sauce than grits. And the "garlic bread" was just a toasted English muffin no garlic on it. I would not recommend these items however I do recommend the apple fritter French toast. The general atmosphere is busy no music and staff are always hustling to the next thing. Food was good and moderately priced. Coffee was good as well. At 65% capacity I waited 30 minutes for my omelette to come out. Not crazy long, but it's just an egg white omelette.. Service was alright. Friendly but not very efficient. When you see " fruit bowl" as a side to your omelette, there's what you hope it will look like, then there's the included picture I shared below. One strawberry, two pieces of pineapple, two grapes, and the rest is just melon and cantaloupe. That's not a fruit bowl, it's a melon bowl with a fruit garnish. Disappointing.
