You have to take a tour to visit Antelope Canyon, so I shared my thoughts on that experience on the tour company's page. When visiting Antelope Canyon, you have the choice of either Upper Canyon or Lower Canyon. Upper Canyon is the more popular and famous option as it's where the light beams occur at different times of the day. Lower Canyon is where you get deeper into the canyon. No matter which canyon you choose, make sure to book your reservations weeks in advance. If you don't, especially if it's a weekend or peak season, you'll likely be out of luck. We visited on a Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Antelope Canyon has become one of the most popular attractions in Arizona thanks to TikTok and Instagram. In many ways, it's becoming the new "Grand Canyon." Even if you're not big on social media, if you're a certain age, you know Antelope Canyon. Why? It was the standard wallpaper on Microsoft Windows for many years. And yes, the pictures are just as mesmerizing as reality at this natural wonder. The incredible formations inside this canyon were caused by many years of flooding and weather elements such as wind. You'll spend about 45 minutes in the canyon taking it the beauty of the canyon which is located on the Navajo Nation reservation. You'll be taking a lot of pictures of yourself, of the canyon, and listening to what your tour guide shares with you about the history of the canyon. It's one of those places that everyone should visit at some point in their lives if they're able. It's that incredible. It takes some planning and it's not cheap, but it's well worth it.

This in my humble opinion is and has become the top, must visit and see destination in Arizona. Let me try and explain why it surpasses the Grand Canyon. These gorgeous canyons were naturally carved over thousands of years by the combined forces of the eroding water via flash floods and the strong winds interacting with the sandstone. Hence behold these spectacular smooth natural flowing, swirling and narrow rock formations as our stellar guide and the others educated us via words, music and lyrics. The 70 minute tour in the afternoon( & earlier one around 10 am) is timed perfectly to coincide with the proper angles and intensity of the sun's rays as we made our way down to this wonderland. It was a lovely and breezy 80 degrees and maybe 70 ish when we got to the bottom. Please wear comfy sneakers. This beauty is in Page, Arizona just 271 miles north of Phoenix. I emphasis again this is a once in a lifetime event.

The canyon is beautiful and even with my crappy phone camera I was able to get some decent pics. The canyon really looks like the pics you see on the internet. Nevan, our professional and friendly guide was so knowledgeable about these earthly sculptures and quite the skilled photographer as he took pictures of all the guests individually in various rooms of this magical tour. Cost was $86.00 and up depending on which tour you want to do with a minimal wait to go down into these spectacularly sculptured colored walls. There is a gift shop and cafe you can grab a cold beverage and a bite of food that is worth visiting. *NOTE* You must check in 30 minutes prior to your tour time AND you can only bring a water bottle and a camera/cellphone . Put your keys in your pocket and leave everything else in your car. Wear shoes you can walk through sand to get to site and that you can climb down and up ladders. This is a very busy tour but well worth it. The tour is on Navajo Tribal lands so please respect the land and those that work this tour and even more so when it's hot out.

A lot of beauty to admire at the canyon, and really nice stories to be heard and shared. The tour guide did state multiple times that we can take our time. He also created a demo micro slot canyon before our eyes. All the drivers were very nice. Here are some things to note though: -The check in process was confusing the day we went. We kept getting asked if we checked in. Initially we weren't greeted by anyone. Then a very pretty lady helped get us started with signing a paper waiver. -In my opinion, we actually had a large group, a bit over 20 people if I recall correctly. However, it wasn't overwhelming. -We separated into taking a wagon and small bus to the slot canyon. There were two different groups. Getting back to the destination spot was split into a bus, an older suburban, and a UTV. Not sure if the wagon ever came back. -We were the last tour group of the day. -They have portable potties near parking grounds, but is about a 8-20 min transportation dependent on type of vehicle and how fast you are from the slot canyon. -Definitely don't want someone who has mobility issues or have discomfort while walking coming to this trip! -No videos

Beautiful place, but…read moreunfortunately, our experience with her overshadowed the entire tour. :( This happened on December 31, 2024, and almost two years later, I'm still sad enough about our experience that I feel compelled to finally write this review. The place itself was absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, our guide, Bambi, was incredibly rude to us, and it really put a damper on what should have been such a memorable experience. :( One instance that stuck with me was when my dad accidentally hit his head on one of the canyon walls. Instead of showing any concern or empathy, Bambi told us that we needed to make sure we were watching him, almost as if he were an unruly child. It was such an unnecessary and condescending response to someone simply having an accident. Throughout the tour, she also didn't seem very interested in actually telling us about the canyon or making the experience enjoyable. It honestly felt like we were being herded around like sheep she didn't want to watch over. Everything felt rushed and impersonal, and like she just wanted to get the tour over with. :( Something else that has bothered me: while looking through other reviews mentioning negative experiences with Bambi, I noticed that several were from people with Asian-sounding names. We are Asian as well. Obviously, I can't say for sure that this had anything to do with how we were treated, but after our experience, I couldn't help but notice the pattern. I really wish we'd had a guide who made us feel welcome and excited to be there, because unfortunately, Bambi's attitude is still what I remember most about the experience almost two years later.
