Mike quickly called me to confirm that he's on the way, and arrived in about 30 minutes from the time Volvo On Call assigned him the job (the other company took 70 minutes to even pick up the phone)! BEWARE! This place is dishonest and price gouges. We were quoted $95 for a tow to the car dealership but ultimately paid almost $200 for "additional" services which is bullshit since other towing companies quoted us $115 out the door regardless of whether we could turn the car or not. On top of that, he tacked on a $20 labor fee and a $8 processing fee for using a credit card which I have yet to experience with other towing companies. At the end of our conversation, I asked him if he was the same guy we initially called to get a quote and he said no. That was a lie because I knew we called and texted only one number and his voice over the phone was exactly the same. Why would someone feel the need to lie unless he knew he was doing something shady? Business must be bad for him to be scamming people like this but with business ethics (or in this case lack thereof) I'm certainly not surprised. read more

Sigh. Should have read the reviews on this place more carefully, especially the one about how this place price gauges. Called in for a quote for car towing service. Was quoted $95 as long as I could put the car in neutral. I explained I could not turn the wheel since my car key was not fully working, hence the reason for the tow. Meet the guy at the parking lot, explains to me because he cannot fit the tow truck directly behind the car he will need to charge me an extra $60 for using "special tools" which was one of those crank with wheels. Not cool, even though I explained I couldn't turn my wheel on the phone, I wasn't going to say no at this point because the truck is literally in front of the car and I wasn't going to call another tow service. To top things off, once car was car was at the destination the guy now says there's an additional $20 in labor and $9 in processing fees. WTF price gauge much? Let me also note that I had my car towed exactly a few months ago almost exactly the same distance (4-5 miles) to the same exact destination (car dealership) for half the price here (less than $100, exactly what I was quoted and no extra fees and they took into consideration the car wheel turning being locked). Honestly I wish I could remember their name so I could shout them out here but you never really appreciate this type of thing until you get a bad experience. read more

Something I thought I would never say: the best towing company I have ever dealt with, by far! It was about 11:30 PM and I was in Milpitas on 680 heading north, back home from a concert at the SAP Center. I blew out my front driver tire, as well as my rear driver side tire, thanks to a horrible pothole. I pulled over and called my Acura Roadside assistance and they let me know a tow truck would be there to pick me and the car up in about 60min. Michael from Antex arrived by 1230am with a flat bed tow truck, was personable, professional, and expertly loaded my car onto the bed. We then had the car towed to Acura of Concord (about 45mi from the site of where I blew my tires out at). He was very kind enough to graciously drop me and my husband off at my work in Walnut Creek, because we had a car there and could go home from there. Michael was friendly the entire long drive from Milpitas to Concord. I was really impressed with how professional, and personable, he was given it was the middle of the night and he had a long drive ahead with us and then another long drive back but alone. His customer service skills are great, and he clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to towing, something I have no clue about so I appreciate the expertise. read more

So I was going through a lemon process with a Ford and had to tow my nonfunctional Fusion back home while going through the process. I prearranged pick up from the dealership and everything went well. I was happy with the service. However, it came time to tow the car back after I completed the process with Ford and I prearranged for a little after 9 on a Saturday (reasonable I thought). 9 has come and gone. BEWARE! This towing company WILL price gouge. I called up on a Saturday morning. The guy on the phone barely spoke English and couldn't get it together enough to understand what I was telling him. I was hopeful that someone would even show up... They did. The guy was nice enough. I got towed 1.5 miles. Charges... 189.00 $55 - dispatcher $49 - labor $85 - towing charge. Oh did I mention that the driver broke off one of my tire bolts. Yep now I have 4 bolts holding my tire together instead of 5 and the company REFUSES to pay the $60 it would take to repair it. "These things happen" were the the guys EXACT words. I am filing a formal complaint for damage to my car not to mention the crappy service both during and after the fact. read more

We found a big problem with our 67 cruiser while in San Jose returning car parts. To prevent an even bigger problem from occurring, we decided to tow it home to Monterey. The first tow company dispatched was DNM towing. I received ETA for 30 minutes, then 45 minutes, then an hour goes by and I was told another towing company Antex has been dispatched for the job. I do not know what happened with DNM towing, I am assuming they didn't want our business. Antex towing was there in about 1/2 hour. Mind you this was around 5pm when Antex was dispatched. Our tow truck driver Michael stated he was about 5 miles away but with rush hour traffic it took 30 minutes to reach us. Our 67 is almost 18 ft long and he took the extra precautions to avoid any scrapes and dings. Michael was very careful and meticulous about placing the car on the flat bed, using these special ramps to avoid the back end from bottoming out. He is courteous, professional, and personable. The trek home was pleasant, with good conversation. I highly recommend Antex towing and we are proud to support local small businesses in any way possible. read more

even though they are a bit expensive for me, the driver provided me great service. i lost my key. towing was the only solution to move my car to my place. i couldn't put the transmission on neutral position. and it was really hard to put my car on top of the truck and to take down from the truck but because of the driver have very extra ordinary skill on his job, he took care of my car with out any single damage finished the job. finally i agree that he deserved the amount of money and paid him. for his service I really thumb up. well done. i recommend this company and will contact them again if i need the service again! read more

Tow truck operator was polite. But that's it. Towing charge of $120 plus $49 service call plus 5% credit card processing for a 3 mile tow. My mistake for not asking the fee up front and another mistake in telling them that insurance would cover the tow. A similar tow with another company just a month earlier only cost me $50 ! Never again ! read more
