I was frantically looking for an auto shop because my car had issues. My 2016 Jetta had trouble starting and brought it to Autozone to get the battery checked, but their machine won't properly read the battery as it thinks the car is still on when it's off. From this, I thought it was more of an electrical issue at the time. I read some of their stellar reviews so I called Autohaus Social and was told my VW has to be brought in for a diagnostic testing to determine what the true issue is. I called on a Monday and since they were pretty busy during the week, was told they open some Saturdays to keep up with the work flow. I then decided to make an appointment for that upcoming Saturday. Checking in was breezy. I instantly felt like my issues were heard and understood. Their updates were done via an online portal and heard back a few hours later that it just needed a new battery. Thank goodness that it was a fairly easy fix than I originally thought. The diagnostic testing was around $200 plus labor, then cost of battery and labor for that. I probably did pay a few more hundred dollars rather than simply getting the battery replaced at one of the chain auto stores, but at least I found a very reliable auto repair shop that handles European cars. The worst customer service and treatment I have ever received at any establishment. I was so excited to have final found a high quality shop in town who are passionate about their work. This very well may be the case, and the mechanics actually working this shop may be wonderful, I have no doubt, but the service manager does not understand how to manage people or expectations --maybe he has some overwhelming pressures in life, who knows, but I can tell you that this man, Joseph, is single handedly loosing business and respect for this shop. I am a believer of giving the benefit of the doubt, so I will chalk it up to a bad day. I had some issues with the work performed shortly after leaving the garage, as it didn't feel right in the steering, and my concerns were just dismissed after payment. I'd been taking my beloved "Mona"--13-year-old BMW 528i--for years to Global Imports and now I'm questioning my life choices after experiencing Autohaus Social. What a difference! I had a number of nagging things that the dealership either couldn't or refused to help with; Autohaus had it all fixed in a matter of days. better still, I can walk there and back and don't need a loaner. When the day came to pick up Mona, I brought my 3-year-old along because he's a car nut in the making and loves our car with the fire of 1,000 suns. We have a 2019 Audi SQ5 and we wanted to find a shop other than the dealership to do services and repairs. We felt the dealership was so overpriced on normal maintenance it was just insulting. Anyhow we found Autohaus Social on many good reviews and were confident it was the place to get work done. The first time we went was for a 40k service and it went great and thought we developed a good relationship with them. We developed some kind of issue with a pulley in the engine leaking oil. We took it back and they completely shooed us away and wanted nothing to do with us which was kind of puzzling TBH. It seemed like an unrelated issue but we found it a totally bizarre experience with no explanations. Had to end up goin to dealer and dropping a ton to repair it. We still don't get it read more

You could tell they pride themselves in a love for foreign cars. They have state of the art tools to take care of your car. My Audi S5 was given the upmost care. Even with a simple oil change service, I still received the white glove treatment. While I waited for my service to be completed, the manager gave me a tour of the facility. This was my first time at Autohaus Social. I needed a scheduled maintenance check so I booked a week ahead. I was given a quote for the service and it was over $100 less than what they wanted at the dealership! When I walked in, they greeted me by name and drop-off was super easy. The location is very convenient for me, and the car was ready in just a couple hours. I appreciated their honesty when they told me that one of the problems I'd mentioned would be covered 100% under new-car warranty, so they said I'd be better off taking it back to the dealership. Took my Mark 6 gti to these guys for an oil leak that I couldn't trace to a source, as I read that these guys KNOW VW's and Audi's like the back of their hands. I would have to agree they know what they're doing. My problem is that they are UBER expensive and don't do much overlapping in labor when working in the same area on the car. Ultimately, I had my car towed from these guys to another place. Go here if you want your car well taken care of, but you better have some deep pockets. read more

6/28/22 Review Update: Took my Mini in again, several Indicators had lit up. Car was repaired in record time but when I picked it up the Check Engine light came on again. I pointed that out & Joseph reset it saying it may/may not be a problem that may need parts/repairs & to bring it back if it happens again. Two days later it happened, I took it in and the estimate was over $400 but Joseph called later that day to say repairs are canceled, that the fix was a simple recapping of something accidentally left off. I was elated about that but more importantly I was impressed with his/their honesty & care for their customers. Thank you Joseph, AutoHaus and the kind honest crew that worked on my car. High-end euro auto repair as it should be! Just moved from CA and needed an A/C check, new tires, and an alignment for our Porsche 993. This is the nicest, cleanest auto repair shop I've seen. They also use an online estimate/approval system (most indy Porsche shops are pretty old school). Joseph and Tristan were excellent to deal with and very communicative as the car is a bit finicky with alignment specs. And true to their 'Social' name, they posted some pics (attached) and video of the car along with a write up on their Instagram page. Very friendly group with a really nice setup. We needed a complicated repair and they were honest enough to recognize that it was beyond their capabilities. Since they couldn't fix our brake fluid leak, they didn't charge us for the diagnostics and they topped off the fluid for us before we left. They even gave me 2 specific recommendations of places that would be able to fix what they had diagnosed. So even though they didn't fix our car, they did the right thing. I have been following Autohaus Social for 3 years now on social media and have attended their social events that are an essential element of their marketing plan for their business. Lots of knowledge gained by meeting fellow car enthusiasts at their events, which demonstrate the embodiment of this company's passion for what they do. They are true enthusiasts and walk the talk, which is refreshing in the automotive repair world. I finally had a chance to utilize their services for mounting new tires with center lock wheels on my 911, which require the proper tools and expertise and also completed an alignment. I shipped the tires into their business and received a message they had arrived before I could check. During the booking of the appointment, all of my questions were answered thoroughly, including a full explanation of pricing by Tristan and I also had a chance to speak another time at the business with Joseph, so all hands are on deck to satisfy both new and existing customers with their questions and concerns. I'll also add that the calls pre-appointment and post appointment were answered by a person almost immediately and not by a voice recording. Their communications throughout the entire process of scheduling, confirming details and post service are beyond anything I have experienced locally with auto repair businesses in Atlanta. The actual work on the car was done expertly, as promised within the timeframe discussed. Additionally, after hearing horror stories about damage rims during the installation, I can report that Autohaus Social handled mine, as I would with absolutely no marks or damage, etc.....You can say that is to be expected but unfortunately I have suffered damage to rims more often than not in Atlanta. The BEST most amazing car service in Atlanta! I baby my VW bug convertible and was horrified when it's tire lights came on and we heard a thump thump thump! I quickly researched a place for help nearby and discovered Autohous Social! We didn't know what to expect as it was late afternoon on a Friday and we couldn't see the actual facility from the turn into the driveway off Monroe Drive near the intersection of Ponce de Leon. But within seconds of pulling into the driveway I was in care care heaven! Our consultant appeared like a mirage and immediately diagnosed the problem screw which had become embedded in a tire. He quickly assured me it could be quickly plugged and the tire made good as new! They whisked us to a lounge area as comfortably arranged as any cool living room and for us cold drinks. Upstairs I could hear people having a great time playing ping pong! In less than 30 minutes they had my chariot repaired and ready to ride again. They checked my service records and offered to do my next service too which will save me a long ride to the dealer. I will NEVER use another shop in Atlanta for my sweet bug! Took my Porsche Macaan to Autohaus yesterday and am very pleased with their professional service! I was getting a nagging tire sensor reading that I couldn't get to go away. So I scheduled an oil change/inspection with them and told them about my issue. At the end of the day, I came away with my oil change and a list of perfectly normal things that are coming due for replacement (as in brake pads). But they reset the tire sensor, filled my tires (I really did think I had filled them to spec lol), and made sure the sensor reading was gone for no extra charge. Really appreciate the honest assessment and help. I'll be back!!! read more

Reply to Nash: thanks for your concern, as I said I have heard many good things, but this is actually the second time I was turned away. The first was back in late December, shop was busy but the person who came to talk to me (I think this same guy but it's been so long I don't know) told me they were not actually open and all working on personal projects. If true, I applaud you indulging the techs who I am sure all have lots of stuff they want to do on their own stuff, since that's what makes a good tech. But the bottom line is I was turned away. And really it comes down to Trust, which has been shattered here. I simply cannot trust that this guy is solely responsible for turning away business, as some or all of who's actually turning wrenches back there must also be like "don't send me things I can't diagnose with a code because it takes too long", because the front guy doesn't have to do the work, so why would he even care? He was pretty clear that "diagnosing driveability issues on these older vehicles takes too long" and that they don't like doing it. Message received my friend. Maybe whatever my next round of needs are I'll stop by again, but my car is in very good shape despite the age so it's usually a few years between these larger jobs for me. My current issue is, truly, going to take someone who's an expert to correctly determine the source and it's not going to be read out on a code, though I also don't think it's going to be so difficult that an expert wouldn't have a few ideas in a few minutes with me and a test drive. I just need Trust that they have my best interest at heart. To be fair, I'm even more disappointed since I live close and prefer to support businesses in the neighborhood and was really looking forward to working with your team. Original: Heard lots of great things about this place, so you might imagine my surprise to have my BMW E36 be turned away because I needed "more than an oil change or tires". Yeah, really, that's what the guy at the desk told me was really all the BMW expertise they had on that fleet. I asked if I could speak with a tech (not sure this desk kid ever changed a spark plug), but no they are just too busy today. Cool, understood, so I asked when would be a good time to walk through some of things I need to get looked at, and I am not kidding, he said "never." I brought my 2017 VW Golf in for a simple alignment and the team did a great job. I really like the space they are in and the process they use for customer relationship management/email invoicing/text message notification of your car's status is really slick. They have a great facility here and it looks like they can handle just about any job. They took care of my simple alignment quickly and while I was touring the shop, it looked like they were working on an engine out job on a Porsche Cayenne as well. Neighborhood shop founded on the principal that the neighborhood lacks an alternative to driving their import cars an hour north to the dealerships and subsequently being ripped off every time we need service and maintenance work. Don't get intimated by how immaculate the property is from the outside. Located right around the corner from Ponce City Market, these guys are building their brand on small-business customer service and it showed in their execution throughout my entire experience. Long story short: Dealership charged me $150 to diagnose a "check engine light" Dealership quote for (4) spark plugs, (4) ignition coils, and top valve re-seal for oil leak was +45% MORE EXPENSIVE than what I ultimately paid to have the work completed at Autohaus Social. +45%! Had the work completed next-day and had a steady update of progress on work (via text) throughout. All the staff from the front to the back were very respectful & welcoming. The facilities & accommodations are modern & professional. I set an appointment at 8:30 am for an oil change. I dropped my car early at 8:00 am. Over the phone while setting my appointment, I was told it would be done by 12-1 pm. When I called back at 1 pm the day of my oil change. They said it wont be done till 2:30 pm. Then started to blame me why it was not worked on yet, telling me I had to give them a time frame I needed it by. This guy had no idea they already gave me a time frame. They told me it would be done by 1pm... That is not how appointments work. You just lost a customer sir and I hope you guys lose more. That is not how you treat customers. read more
