I had a very disappointing and disturbing experience with this RepairPal-certified shop. I brought my vehicle in for diagnosis of an ongoing "Engine Maintenance Required" issue and paid a diagnostic fee. I was told the problem was due to the original filters that came with the car, so they replaced both the engine air filter and cabin air filter. However, the actual issue with the vehicle was not properly identified or resolved. After the unprofessional service, the "Engine Maintenance Required" message continued to appear on my dashboard, and I was not given a clear explanation for why it was still showing. I still had to take the vehicle elsewhere for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. I would advise others to be cautious with this shop, as in my experience they did not address the root cause of the problem and focused mainly on basic maintenance without resolving the actual issue. read more

I wish I could give no stars. Went to them for my driver rear window. I already had the part for it that a mechanic friend recommended from amazon that was a match. Talked to Patrick and convinced him into letting them install it because he stated he doesn't install parts he doesn't provide. Which I understood. The part didn't fit & they sent me an estimate for 394 including their part. I did not go forward and was charged 192.14 for labor , shop supplies etc which he stated took 2 hours & that I didn't want it inspected I wanted the part installed & that's what he did and took it out when it didn't fit. Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean better. I went directly to another shop 20 mins later down the street they took my door panel off quite frankly for FREE to inspect my door and in 10 minutes to look at it and see what the issue was and what I needed to do to go forward, addressed it and ordered the part. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL especially if you're trying to save a few bucks AND time, got my part ordered for tomorrow gave a price that was significantly lower (245) and I was there 38 MINUTES! I'll end up still paying more than 394 but I would rather give my money to a mechanic shop that is considerate than these people. read more

When I took my car here and the airbag light was NOT on, however when I picked it up the airbag light was on and now they want to charge me $400 to turn a warning light off that THEY turned on!. They are super dishonest in this shop, the techs dont know what they are doing, and you will probably get your car back with more issues than when you give it to them. The people in this shop are liars, dishonest, and try to get over on people, especially women! Save yourself the headache and just go somewhere else. Maybe even try Katherines Car Repair on Piedmont. If i could give less than 1 star I would! 2/13/24 My daughter went there and was charged for an oil change. 2/18/24 I check her oil and it was dirty. I personally change her oil and it was pitch black and never changed, neither was the filter. I guess they thought, since her tags are out of state, they could get over by robbing her. THANKFULLY I checked before driving 1,000 miles north or we'd be getting towed off interstate 95 somewhere. Save your money and find a place that doesn't take advantage of women. read more

I really appreciate the service I received at Atlanta Car Care Auto Shop. My 1998 Toyota Rav4 is running better than ever and this horrible noise that was coming from my car every time I stopped is gone. Toyota service center didn't even do that for me. I called before I brought my car in and spoke to the associate on the phone who told me to bring my car in and he fully explained that I would need to leave it (no waiting room access due to COVID-19 protection measures) and that he couldn't tell me how long until they took a look. I appreciated his transparency. I dropped it off and less than 15 minutes later, I received a call with my "diagnosis," a time estimate (that ended up being longer than it actually took), and a price estimate (that ended up being spot on to the cent). I was told it would be ready to pick up the next morning but to my surprise, they called back in another 15 or 20 minutes and said it was done! I went to pick it up and the associate carefully explained what they did and advised me on anything I should look for or be careful with then I was on my way. Two days later, they called to check up on the service and make sure everything was running smoothly! I've never had quicker service and it was extremely refreshing that the employees of this business actually cared about me as a customer and the work they did. Please don't come here if you are or any ethnicity than white. I stopped by with a friend to get her tire looked at. He refused service to us saying that he had no one to look at the tire. Keep in mind when we pulled in he was on a computer and another employee was on his phone. They were not working on any cars. He was very rude and his face was covered in disgust. It's a bit hit or miss with service here. I've come here a few times to get my oil changed and it's very cheap, convenient, and super quick! However, I recently went in to get an oil change in addition to getting my spark plugs replaced and my engine stalled on idle a few hours after I got my vehicle back. When I went to pay and showed them my coupon for service, they did not seem happy and one of the workers muttered under his breath. As a woman, my experience has been that most car places can be intimidating if you don't know your stuff completely and with that attitude, I was too nervous to say anything. I also noticed my engine more jumpy than usual as well so I took it back in a week later. This time, the older man was very patient with me and listened to everything I was saying, even if I was describing the slightest thing wrong in words that may not be normally used because I was nervous. He sat in my car and told me nothing seemed to be wrong but to come back if I experience any more problems. He even assured me that there's nothing wrong with bringing in my car with any questions I have. So that experience made up for the earlier time. I'll definitely come back here for oil changes and other more simple repairs. read more

The work they did on my hub assembly looks to have been done properly and in a very timely manner. However one of the mechanics put a Brake pad ON BACKWARDS!! I called to see what John wanted to do about it and he said he wanted me to drop my truck off again so he can see what's wrong. I already told him what was wrong and I had already put on new brakes myself. I drive Lyft and can't afford to leave my truck for a day. If I have to replace the rotor because the backwards brake cause to much damage that's going to suck. Not sure if mechanics do this on purpose to get you back in the shop or not, but it's brakes. I do not trust this mechanic. The first time I went in, John Spilane (I believe he is the owner) quoted me one price for an oil change and then when I picked it up, he made me pay almost double the price because he was not aware about my engine oil requirements. I figured my first experience could have been an honest mistake so I gave it another try. I went back when my car reminded me that I was due for a routine brake fluid change. I told the worker Frank about the issue and I dropped my car off. A few hours later I get a call telling me that they diagnosed my car and that I need a more than $2000 repair. John goes on to tell ask me if I knew how important a Yaw sensor or something along those lines was. I told him that I only wanted the brake fluid changed and he said they didn't have time to do that service but I owed him about $150 for the diagnostics. I took my car and did not come back. I got my brake fluid changed elsewhere and I have not had any problems with my car since that time more than six months ago. I don't know if it was them intentionally trying to make money off of me or if they just use the diagnostic machine to find a problem without thinking or listening to the customer. I'm sure they are able to do repairs, but I will not trust them with my service again. read more

I just got my car repaired at Atlanta Car Car, and I feel like I have been ripped off as to the price. My check engine light was on and I had gone to Auto Zone and received the diagnostic code PO193 which also stated Fuel Pressure Sensor High Input Since the car was running fine I was pretty sure it was a faulty sensor, but they had no interest in listening to me when I brought this up. He shut me down the minute I said something about the code. While not ideal I understand that people come in all the time thinking they know whats wrong, but don't...I'm down with that. It was when I went line by line on the invoice that I have a big problem. I got ripped off. Remove & replace fuel Pressure Sensor...$325.44 (also * indicated shop supplies though that isn't broken down) New Pressure sensor...1 unit $201.71 (again the * not broken down and indicated tax with this item *S) Intake Manifold set...$56.05 (again with the *S supplies and added tax) There was also a 98.42 charge for diagnostics (but again with the *...what shop supplies are needed to plug into the onboard computer?). I'm not going to quibble with this one Now I have researched this online and the fuel sensor everywhere I looked listed this as between $200-$240 WITH LABOR...even some dealerships!! So 325.44 remove and replace sensor...is that just labor? Obviously not because there were shop supplies added. The highest price I saw for this online was around $400 for the whole thing. They are pretty obviously double billing for this. I found a video that goes step by step on how this repair is done. No shop supplies outside of the actual sensor should have been needed. Then at the bottom it says Total Parts $257.76 Total Labor $423.66 How in Gods name does that make any sense with the above numbers!!! There is obvious double billing going on here or some faulty software. If you need an oil change, they are fine for that, but I would avoid letting them do anything else. I'd like to think this is a mistake, and if so hopefully it can be rectified, but I seriously doubt it. This seems rather intentional. I'm guessing lots of people just dont look to see if it makes any sense. I should have done more research before bringing my car there. Learn from my mistake and save yourself some money. read more

I've been in Atlanta for 2 years and could never find a good mechanic. Took my truck in on Monday afternoon and John and his team were able to diagnose the problem. Everyone here was so helpful! I'm new to Georgia and had never had an emissions test done. I failed the emissions test due to my catalytic converter, so I needed to fix it before I could apply for my Georgia tag. When I requested an estimate, a member of Atlanta Car Care was quick to respond and to let me know when I could bring my car in to the shop. I shopped around a bit afterwards, but no other place responded as quickly or in as much detail as ACC did. Two days later, I was greeted when I dropped off the car (Frank, I believe was his name? I apologize if I'm incorrect), and he was very friendly. I asked him if they would look at my brakes as well (they were squealing and another place could not explain why), and he said they would. My car was fixed before the end of the day which was exactly what I had been told in the estimate. John explained what they had done with my car, broke down the expenses in my bill (which matched my estimate excluding taxes), and told me how to drive my car for the next few days to properly prepare my car for my next emissions test. He even showed me what they had taken off my car and what everything was on the part. When I was preparing to leave, Phillip told me that he had fixed my brakes and explained why they had been squealing (apparently they were dirty and just needed a good cleaning; why another shop couldn't figure this out is beyond me). Long story short, my whole experience here was outstanding from beginning to end, and I'll definitely be returning here for any other car issues I may have in the future. Really? I'm driving down Buford Highway and a tire blows out. Thankfully, (I thought) this place was right there, practically across from where I was going. So I pulled into the parking lot and ask the guy if he would be willing to put the spare on for me. He say yes, but we charge $15 to change a tire. Really? Well me with my smart mouth says, you aren't changing a tire, you are putting on a spare. Well in his even smarter mouth, he says, well you can always call your roadside assistance if you want someone to do it for free. Touche. So, I had over my debit card and get charged $15 to have someone put on a spare. I could have called roadside assistance, but thinking it would have taken them an hour to get here, i just paid the guy, hopped back in my car and crossed Buford Highway to go to my office. After I got here, I thought I'm going to be a work for the next 8 hours, I really could have called my roadside assistance and saved $15. Lesson learned. Even if I had considered going here before I wouldn't now. When a man charges a woman $15 to put on a spare tire, he's no man in my opinion. read more

I had a pre-purchase inspection scheduled at this mechanic. Unfortunatley, it did not work out and did not get the vehicle looked at because the dealer changed their mind last minute and would not let the vehicle be looked at. After a conversation between myself, John and the dealer, John told me to walk away from the deal because it seemed so shady they wouldn't let the vehicle be inspected. Obviously, John lost out on earnings because I didn't need the inspection anymore, but that goes to show that he is an honest man. I have been taking my car there for some years. At times if I get a coupon I go elsewhere and then that other place will take much longer as they go all over looking for issues that may, or may not be real. I find most places have an unwritten rule that you wont get out of there for ANYTHING without them walking in and sitting down with you and laying out something you gotta do now. Not here. I can go in for an oil change and they do it quick with no fishing around to find something else to sell me. Rather than one price for the oil change the board lists six different options too. The basic is $17.95 They used to have online coupons on the website but those are fewer now. I can also take Marta train to Lindbergh and get the free bus transfer there to pick up the car or VV to get home. They offer to take me to Lindbergh Marta too if I want. For those that wish, a waffle house is right next door. They post prices online for standard things and have a print out price list on the desk. The dealership gave me a list of must do items and a price to do it all and I went here and the cost was about 40% less. I have been very pleased here and I believe they treat the customers right which is often rare in auto repair places. read more

Overall, I was ok with the price. But I didn't appreciate the service they provided. We spoke to the owner and agreed to have them do oil change, tire rotation, brake pads & rotors changes, and brake fluid and he provided the price breakdown and total. I also asked about the air bag light and he said that they were able to turn it off, but if it could be a sensor issue and better to take it to the dealer. He didn't mention anything about the price for the airbag in the price breakdown and total. Then when we picked up the car, the receptionist told us that they only did the oil change and tire rotation. We said we asked all the brake things and that was the main purpose. He spoke with the technician and he said he changed the break pads and rotors. So the receptionist added it to the price. But when we got a receipt, it showed that air bag diagnostics of $113, which we didn't agree them to do or the owner didn't tell us the price when he walked us through the price breakdown. Besides brake fluid was added as "deferred service", which we asked them to do and included in the price breakdown. But apparently they didn't do. We complained it again and the technician said he did. At that point, I didnt know what they actually have done and didn't do and even the price was accurate.
