This is such a solid diner. Amazing service, food and a bonus for the bar - my kids were being wild, and a spiked coffee totally hit the spot. I always order grilled cheese at a diner, and this one definitely delivered. The chocolate chip pancakes were also delish, and the kids 'short stack' came with an enormous portion. Hubby and I just wanted soup and a sandwich. We were so please with our soups and split a wrap. It was the perfect lunch and a great price. The service was quick even though the restaurant was really busy. I liked that they offered potato salad instead of fries w/ the wrap and didn't charge for the swap. A couple years ago I gave this diner a bad review. The food was just ok and the waitress was horrible. Twice it happened so we started going to Randolph diner. A friend of mine said to try Roxbury diner again because they got better. We tried them again. The waiters and waitress were great. The food even tasted better like it used to. Stopped in after doctors appointment for a late dinner. Since it was National Cheesesteak Day I ordered their Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was soooo great! The break was perfectly toasted. Another visit to this local favorite. The diner has been renovated since last visit. It's modern, sleek and clean. Service friendly efficient and quick. Had a corned beef reuben. Luscious thick-sliced corned beef topped with sauerkraut, russian dressing and melted swiss cheese; on griddled rye bread. It's served as an open sandwich here, perfect to tackle with knife and fork. I've been eating at this establishment for more than 20 years, but never took the time to provide a review. Very consistent establishment. You can go a year or two between visits, and your burger will have same presentation and taste from what you last experienced. Met a friend here for lunch last week. He got a cheeseburger and I went for their beef/lamb Gyro (typical diner fare!!). Both were served quickly, hot, and just as ordered. I like my fries crispy, just slightly well done and firm....and they nailed that request without burning them. Some fail at that!! I asked for extra Tziki sauce, provided grattis where some venues charge for that. The owner is also very community minded and does a lot for local charities, I am told. They now have a liquor license, but we didn't partake in alcohol on a workday lunch. Solid food in this established diner. read more

Been going here for years. Recently whenever I get a salad such as Antipasto or Greek salad, it was watery, less amount and less effort in preparing, especially when take out. Asked for dressing on side and it was in the salad plus wrong dressing which we requested. Probably won't order these again. read more

Stopped in for breakfast (with a toddler) and the service was excellent even with special annoying requests from us like a side of strawberries--our waitress was so accommodating and gracious. My dad and I go to the Roxbury Diner at least once every week and it never disappoints. The staff there all work extremely hard and are all friendly and timely with their service. There truly isn't a bad seat in the house either. I normally get the Three Little Pigs Omelet and it never disappoints, but everything I have tried off the menu has been delicious. (Bigger is seldom better when food is concerned) We went last week and noticed that the beer menu was not on the table.
