Long time customer and somehow friend of Dr Mathison, I was hesitant to have a young blood taking over. After trying another dentist, that seemed like a Hollywood show (lots of hype), I went back to Dr Vitarelli for a second opinion. Not only I felt like home again, but there was no pressure, no rush and his staff is as friendly as he is. Now for the most important: dentistry; he has upgraded the equipment and his technique is excellent. It has been 2 years now and I had several cleanings, 2 crowns and several old silver fillings replaced with the state of the art UV cured color matching compound. Dr V has a intimate practice with modern tools (digital xrays, masage chair, sonic cleaners). Why cant large practices offer such amenities? I've generally dredge going to the dentist for preventative cleaning or other dental work, but now that I go to Dr. V, that no longer the case. No up-selling, just good honest dental care. He took the time to explain everything easy to understand manner. The massage chair provides a nice soothing distraction. The office is easy to find and has secure parking lot and street parking. The lobby is well stocked with current periodicals and a nice high end self serve espresso/coffee machine. Coming from a large high volume 'jiffy lube style practice' is a nice change. read more

I was having some major tooth pain and I haven't been to the dentist for years. I needed to get in quick as the pain was unbearable. I asked a friend where was the best place to locate a dentist and she suggested to search Yelp. I went on and I was impressed with Dr. Vitarelli reviews. I have to be honest I never thought I'd give a dentist 5 stars - but dang Dr. V and the entire crew really deserve 5 +++ stars. First, it has been some time since my family has been to a dentist and we unfortunately had a couple of bad ones to boot, so we have a bit of "catching up" to do. Yes, this means cleaning, xrays and fillings for everyone. (Thank goodness for decent dental insurance!) So I was looking for a dentist who was not going to make us feel horrible for letting our dental care lapse and a dentist who would work for my tween, teen and their parents. First, they are they are extremely professional. Stephanie and crew are quick to schedule meetings, gave me a heads up on the final cost for fillings etc for my entire family and are very cognizant of keeping us within our insurance + budget. Next, the equipment is top notch. Massage chairs, blankets to keep you toasty and modern paint and art. I kinda love that place (Did I just say that about a dentist's office? I did!) Most importantly, Dr. V is extremely thorough and gentle. We asked me repeatedly if I was comfortable during my "fillings" procedure. He made sure that there was plenty of suction, so I wasn't sitting there with a mouth full of saliva and kept me entertained with his stories. My old dentists NEVER did that. Seriously. I gotta say I've never had such a positive experience at the dentist. Moreover, my entire family feels the same way. I can not recommend him more. The best dentist in the world. Super caring and so skillful im distraught at having to leave CA and find a new dentist in new zealand. The whole team is fantastic but dr v is so awesome because i had an emergency tooth situation and within an hour on a Saturday night he left his dinner reservation and met me at the clinic to do a repair job. I highly recommend Dr. Vitarelli. I found him in the Delta Dental directory. I have cavities in all my teeth and have been to a lot of dentists in my years. My last dentist said I had a galvenized current which was her not being able to numb me enough. Dr. Vitarelli completed the work my old dentist started. His dental assistant is the greatest!! I never felt like I was going to drown in my saliva. Dr Vitarelli is very detailed! He tells you what he is doing as he is working. My son says Dr Vitarelli is "Cool". That's a huge compliment!!! I told my friend I don't like my current dentist and there's something phishy about him and surely enough, right when I made my first appointment with Dr. Vitarelli, his assistant, Stephanie called me and said my dental insurance has been wiped clean! I was freaking out because I had only been gone to my old dentist once and it was just cleaning, nothing special. Stephanie offered to help me dispute it as I have no idea where to start. Stephanie worked on the paperworks from calling the insurance and she kept me in the loop. It took 2-3 months for the investigation and money was put back in to my account, thank goodness for amazing and knowledgeable receptionist like Stephanie! Turned out that my old dentist took all insurance money early in the year which to me is illegal. Anyway, since then I've put all my trust on Dr. Vitarelli and his entire staff. He's a great dentist, up to date with all of new techniques and technologies, very personable, family oriented, very welcoming. I have lots of teeth and gum issues so Dr. Vitarelli referred me to other dental specialists too. All are great recommendations!! I recently took my little girl for her first dental visit and Dr. Vitarelli and his staff were amazing! Dr. Vitarelli is the best dentist I have ever been to! Getting dental work from his is pain-free! He makes sure you are comfortable every step of the way. Dr. V's office is modern, sparkling clean with a superb staff in place and conveniently located. Honestly, going to his office is like going to the spa. He even provides a sherpa blankie if you are cold and hot coffee/tea (in any flavor) upon arrival & healthy snacks if you are hungry ;) I also took my 6 year old son here who is super finicky and he enjoyed his visit. The fact that Dr.Vitarelli is young was a major plus to me. He's very easy to talk to and I felt like he really cared about how I felt. I've lived in numerous cities and have seen many different dentists, and Dr. Vitarelli and his staff are far and away the greatest. I am typically skeptical of any businesses with stellar ratings across the board, but I can honestly say Dr. Vitarelli's practice more than deserves such high praise. I rarely ever write Yelp reviews, but I feel driven to do so in an effort to express my gratitude to Dr. Vitarelli and his staff (shoutout to Stephanie!). Dr. Vitarelli himself is very warm and personable. He knows his stuff and does a great job sharing his knowledge in a way that never feels rushed or biased. Unlike other dental practices I've gone to, Dr. Vitarelli's practice is on the side of the patient. While other practices seem intent on squeezing as much money out of their patients (and their patients' insurance companies) as possible, Dr. Vitarelli recommends procedures only when they are absolutely necessary for the health of your teeth (and/or to satisfy any aesthetic desires or concerns). And when a procedure is recommended, he makes sure to present all possible options for addressing the root issue (pun intended), thoroughly explaining the costs and benefits of each option to ensure you are able to make an informed decision. For example, when I inquired about teeth whitening, he presented me with numerous options - different over-the-counter trays/pens/toothpaste options, in-office whitening procedures, dentist-prescribed whitening gel and trays, etc. - and thoroughly covered the advantages and disadvantages of each (specifically concerning cost, my required time commitment, short-term effectiveness, long-term effectiveness, and so on). The office itself is run like a well-oiled machine. Stephanie is the heart of the office, seemingly responsible for a multitude of administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, billing, communicating with insurance companies, coordinating with other service providers when necessary, and so on. She's very sharp and very friendly and, when necessary, is willing to fight with the insurance companies on behalf of the patient. Keep up the great work, Dr. Vitarelli and staff! Ok, I revised my review after a conversation with Dr. Vitarelli. He seems open enough to hear the feedback unlike some others that diminish your feedback and continue on with business as usual. This guy took over the practice of the guy I was seeing when he retired. The practice went down the drain from there. I liked the funky '70's look of the office. It reminded me of going to the dentist when I was a kid. The old guy's receptionist was so sweet and would entertain my little one while the doctor was busy with me. I'd have to say that I don't care for the cold attitude of the new receptionist and Dr. Vitarelli acts like he's better than the rest of us. All growing up the dentist complimented me on my teeth. Since then I've gone to several different dentists, receiving the same compliments. One even wanted to use my teeth as the example of good dental hygene. When Dr. vitarelli showed up there seemed to be something wrong with my teeth. I needed a filling. Then another filling. The third time, I got suspitious and flaked out on my appointment. Since then, I've gone to a different dentist. The new guy shows me the x-rays and explains what he's looking at. Dr. Vitarelli always had the pictures behind me out of my sight and never explained anything. What he did do was shame me for not brushing three times and floss once a day. Now my wifes doesn't want to go to any dentist because she felt embarrassed by his shaming tactic. read more

I've been going to Dr. Vitarelli ever since he took over from Dr. Matheson years ago. He is professional, up to date and a great guy. The staff is friendly and helpful. The biggest thing that impressed me from the beginning was is skill level. He is an absolute craftsmen. He builds model airplanes in his spare time and you can tell that this precision and technique carry over to his profession. When he works on your teeth the is patient and precise. I started taking my son there (currently 4 years old) and Dr. V was wonderful with him. He is not sold as a kid dentist, but I prefer him over the "day care" style kids dentist any day. All these FIVE star ratings should give everyone a good indication of the type of service to expect. Dr. Vitarelli is an outstanding dentist whose first concern are his patients. He will come in early or stay late to accommodate them. Once I had to call his office number in middle of the night leaving a message for an appointment the next day due to a very painful toothache. He called back within an hour, offering to call in a prescription and see me the following day. I have been impressed with the outstanding quality of work he does. He does explain what needs to be done, why it needs to be done and how it will be done. There are no surprises. He has shown me the xrays, however I wouldn't know exactly what to look at on the film. He combines intelligence, skill and kindness. What else can we ask for in a treating dentist. I love to hear about his family and how much he loves them. His staff is the same. They reflect the same patient philosophy. My adult children all feel the same. I can't forget to mention Stephanie. Dr. V is the engine then Stephanie is the rudder. Well it's been a while since I have revised my review of Dr. V. Since I have had my wisdom teeth out we came to be good friends when he advised me that my Class III malocclusion (underbite and crooked jaw) would be best corrected by orthognathic surgery and orthodontics I knew he wasn't full of it. I had been in braces before as a child, but as I kept growing I ended up all crooked and the only solution was TO CUT MY FACE OFF!!!! It was the best decision of my life. I sit here now 5 days from getting out of my braces. I have flown back into CA after my move to KS to finish up but my real reason is to just hit up Dr. V and get my checkup all clear. I had my first visit yesterday. I was slightly anxious because I don't change dentists that often, only when forced to by insurance. I found Dr. Vitarelli very pleasant, understanding and up-to-date with technology. He took baseline images of my teeth and was very thorough in his initial examination.
