This Anthony's location has improved lately (last visited 1/7/25). I'm including a picture of the pizza so you can see how great it looks. I got the 14" with sausage and mushrooms. I wanted to load it up with heavy toppings to show how well the crust holds (see my pics.). Over the years, this location has been hit or miss, depending on who is making the pizzas. At this point, it's a great place to go to. My issue with Anthony's has always been that they sometimes burn the crust and somehow undercook the toppings. That wasn't the case at this location. The pizza was perfectly cooked, including the toppings. The service has never been a problem here--they're great. In fact, the staff is exceptionally attentive, efficient, and often funny. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space inside is on the plain side, but it's about what you'd expect from a pizzeria--wooden tables, pictures from old Hollywood, and there is a slight coal fire aroma that I have enjoyed some of the times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I suppose that depends on when you go. It's important to as about the specials. For example, on Wednesdays during Happy Hour a large cheese pizza is $10. Amazing bargain. You can add toppings, but that's extra. Still, you can't beat that. The Broccoli Rabe with sprinkled sausage was beyond my expectations. I also tasted the Cauliflower pizza and it was perfectly crispy yet saucy with a nice flavor to it. The wings were perfectly cooked and crisp on the outside. The pizza arrived rather quickly and the condition was perfect. Luckily, I'm near to this location so delivery was quick. The ordering process was easy so you can customize different items. The breadsticks are simple yet prepared fresh. I do wish they had a bit more seasoning but they were good nonetheless. We had the create your own, half Margherita & half cheese with Alfredo sauce and I have to say this is a great combination for when you're feeling something cheesy. The arugula and burrata salad is incredibly tasty and filling, as it comes with a couple triangles of flatbread. The wings are also very popular, and are made with a rub and come with caramelized onions. They also have some decent beers on tap. The service is usually very attentive around lunch time. I NEEEDED that pizza. I didn't know it when I sat at the table, but I realized that at the first bite. It was Friday evening and the workweek was finally done. It had been months since my last pizza... a home made one (home made by me)... and before that, one of the famous $5 ones... So I NEEDED the pizza. My coworker and I went a Friday after work and it paid off. The smoky flavor. The perfect combination of arugula and prosciutto... the fact that I could have my side with arugula/prosciutto and her half could be a perfectly vegan artichoke cheeseless pizza! We enjoyed it thoroughly. So much, we went back the next week and ordered the same thing. I have to admit the second one wasn't as good because it had more sauce and less prosciutto than the first one, so it was dripping a bit (so it was messier to eat), but still very good. As for safety/COVID measures, they check almost all the boxes. The only thing I didn't see was hand sanitizer available, but you can use the restroom to wash your hands, and you probably carry your own already, anyway. It was the Friday before New Year's, and as a kind gesture at work, they bought us pizza. Yay to free lunches! *Dances* Now I don't know if it's because of the day it was or even the crazy amount of pizza they got for the office, but while I typically am a major fan of Anthony's, just this once they didn't meet my expectations. I think it was the white cheese pizza frankly. They gifted us with five foods: -White cheese pizza; -Pepperoni pizza; -Square cheese pizza; -Chicken wings; -Salad. Cannot comment on anything but the white cheese pizza and the chicken wings. I opted to skip the salad, pepperoni pizza isn't my thing, and the square cheese pizza flew before I could grab a slice. That said, I have had the white cheese pizza before, so I knew there was no red sauce. What I didn't expect was the grease that came with it. It wasn't overflowing, just more than usual. The chicken wings were crispy and nice to bite into though. Felt a bit blah after eating. Not sure what it was, but my entire experience was just A-OK. Unfortunately, I had to rate this particular Anthony's Pizza 3 out of 5 due to their poor takeout service. We ordered a 12" pepperoni & sausage pizza on a Friday night that was supposed to be ready for pickup at 8:15pm. When we arrived at the pick-up counter on time, they told us our order was not in the system. So we showed them our email confirmation and then they said we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. We ended up getting our pizza at 9:15pm! I understand that it can get busy on a Friday night, but they shouldn't promise a time online if they won't be able to deliver their promise. As far as the pizza goes - I can't deny they make great, crispy pizza. The ingredients are always fresh and really give the pizza a homemade taste instead of the typical boxed pizza you get at other pizza chains. It's hard to beat a good ol' coal fired pizza made with fresh ingredients. 5 out of 5 stars for the pizza! I plan on trying another location. Ive been a loyal happy customer for years but I have to say the expected hot, fluffy yet crisp crust, and melty cheese was no where to be found. I swear this pizza was passed off to me after someone didn't pick theirs up. Box was Luke warm not the typical wonderful steaming hot. I served my husband immediately after driving a block home- he asked me to microwave it to heat it up. When we arrived it took 10 minutes for a server to provide menus, I should have known then to just leave. After finally coming and taking drink/ food orders one of the drinks had something floating in the cup. It took another 10 mins to bring a fresh cup of lemonade. After 50 mins we still had not received our food order that we placed when our drink order was taken. We watched several others tables receive starters and pizza that arrived and order after us. During our our visit to the Coral Gables location, Michael assisted us, he was very pleasant, genuine, and attentive. I would say, the best server we've had at Anthony's. We ordered the meatballs to start and for our main-course, a Margherita pie and a Meat Lover's pie. They were both very tasty, the only suggestion I would make is to ask your waiter to make sure the pie is not over-cooked as sometimes the pies come out really burnt on the edges.
