I have quite a mixed opinion of this place. Unassuming, easy to miss, but a rather large and comfortable place with its own parking. When you go inside, you see a coffee and alcohol bar. Feels European. I like that. The wine menu is excellent as well. Tables nicely set with white tablecloths, which is something that I reallg appreciate. The service was amazing. Nice and attentive but not overbearing. My dish, the ossobucco, was very good. Hearty and properly seasoned, served with rissotto. My only issue was the pasta dishes that my parents ordered. My father's shrimp scampi was too greasy. My mother's red sauce pasta was served with the sauce over the pasta. Never cooked together. That was a big disappointment. Have been dining here for over 25 years. The last few times we have visited has been disappointing. The air conditioner has been on too high and it has been uncomfortably HOT. When speaking to the server she stated that she wasn't allowed to lower the AC but that she agreed it was HOT. After this last time we will not be visiting again. It is not pleasant to have a meal in such a HOT environment. We were not the only individuals complaining the table next to us made a comment as well and nothing was done. This is a lovely restaurant with old world charm. I can only describe the ambiance as a place that used to be nice 15 years ago, and is still nice but could use a décor update. It's reliably good and is one of those places I like to return to every so often for a specific meal. The bread is good, and the provoleta appetizer is pretty good, too. We always order the osso bucco that is served with saffron risotto. This dish is served with the bone, so if you like bone marrow then this could be a real treat for you. Never had been to the place but someone recommended so I did take out. I ordered a spaghetti carbonara, this was bacon cheese and onion, obviously very greasy and it only tasted like bacon. We heard good things, were excited to try it. We went on a weeknight, they happened to have a large party which was celebrating and was extremely loud, to the point us and other diners moved as far away as possible immediately after sitting. The party was yelling and cheering, something you do at hall not in the dining room of a restaurant, unfortunately no manager was there to ask them to quiet down. The dining room is nicely decorated but everyone was cold and wearing their jackets as the AC was much too high on an unusually cool night. The meat sauce tased more like a chili sauce than an Italian Bolognese, our portions were small. The bread was good. I celebrated my birthday here in August 2025 and it was the perfect choice. The food was absolutely amazing, and the menu is very extensive with plenty of options to choose from. I ordered a pizza and it was really, really good, one of the best I've had in Miami. The service was excellent, very attentive, and made us feel welcome the entire evening. Met with friends to have some Italian food. The place is quite elevated inside, and although it sits on a corner, there is ample space to park near. Today the venue was not packed and that was good because I could see this restaurant super busy. The decor was appropriate, and the service was excellent. Very much so that all pre ordering was done rather quickly. The food was phenomenal in taste. Temperature was adequate, and the portions appropriately. The only reason for not a 5 star was because one plate of food had to be returned for more cooking, and the refills had to be asked for constantly. Nevertheless, kudos to the staff for making us feel VIP, the entire time. They even have a wine cellar to make selections in wine. We loved this little gem, and it used to be our favorite spot for pasta. When we visited in November 2024, we were disappointed with the food but assumed it was just a bad day in the kitchen. Today, we went back, excited after some time, only to confirm that the food quality has changed. We always order the same pasta dishes; Carbonara and Pescatore--and this is now the second time we have left without wanting to come back. However, we won't be returning. Our family and friends have shared the same experience, and we are very disappointed. The restaurant looks small from the outside but it's comfortable and roomy and you don't feel crowded. The loaf of bread they brought to the table was right out of the oven and it was quite warm, tender and delicious. Olive oil was provided for dipping as well as butter. The portions were quite large and we all had leftovers. The food was very good from the lasagne to the eggplant Parmesan to my cannelloni. We had a large salad that we shared and their homemade house dressing was fantastic. The prices are quite reasonable. I don't know about parking as we walked from a nearby office building. This past Thursday our team ordered two orders of pizza one with pepperoni and the other just cheese. The pizzas were delicious thin crust with the right amount of cheese and red sauce. The calamari, alfredo pasta, everything! The restaurant looks completely different from the outside than it does on the inside. On the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall. On the inside, it is absolutely beautiful. It's kind of old-school classic vibe. The service was OK. It wasn't bad at all. But what impresses hands-down is the amazing food! I've worked as a waitress at proper italian restaurants for many years and I can tell you, hand on my heart, that this is not it. We had the antipasto, a started supposed to consist of bite-size quality cheese, cured meats, vegetables, and bread. What we got was cheap sandwich ham, 1 slice of soggy parma, and gross salami. I am pretty sure it was all bought at Costco (I'm not exaggerating at all) - and we paid $14 for it ! There were some basic olives, some cheap tasteless tomatoes with one mozzarella slice and another piece of cheap sandwich topping in the form of a thin slice of provolone I'm pretty sure. If an actual Italian came by he would be just as much in shock as I was! I couldn't even eat most of the meal because I was actually pretty grossed out by it. The pasta meal was at least somewhat eatable - but the pasta was really soggy (breaking rule #1 of Italian pasta) and they had just soaked it in a bunch of cheap pasta sauce and topped it with chunks of mozzarella. I'm sad to say I could have done better myself, and I'm not a very advanced chef (again, I'm really not exaggerating). It tasted like one of those prepaid meals you get from the freezer isles. I was super disappointed :( The place is nice and cozy, so if you are mainly there for the atmosphere then go! But I would never, to anyone, recommend the place for it's food. read more

They make freshly baked bread that comes out hot, especially when they're busy. We went during peak hours so didn't expect the efficient service we got. The server, bread and water were a team and backed each other up so well. The fettuccine Alfredo is so fresh and full of flavor, and the chicken Marsala was equally good. Will come again. We've been here a few times over the past couple months and love their food. I get the veal Marsala which is so tender and juicy with pasta and lots of mushrooms and gravy. In the past years, our group has attended many wine dinners in the So Florida area. I believe last week's dinner was one of the BEST wine dinners we have ever attended. I had the opportunity to have a dinner with family at Caffé Italia in Coral Gables over the holiday break. It's an intimate and classic Italian restaurant serving old-school Italian favorites, pastas, pizza, salad's, seafood etc. At any Italian restaurant there's plenty for vegetarians to eat, so I knew I wasn't going to go hungry. I tend to prefer more refined, slightly less classic Italian food, but every now and then you need a good basic Italian meal just to keep you going. The staff was very accommodating to our party - not only am I a vegetarian, but we had a gluten-free diner and three kids with different preferences. No one left hungry. They served us super good Italian bread. It was very light with a perfect crust on the outside. It was everything you could've wanted out of Italian bread. (Served warm!) We started with a large cheese pizza as an appetizer for the table. One of the kids in the party wanted it well done, which kind of ruined it for me who doesn't like a burnt pizza. I definitely felt it was overcooked, and for my taste there was nowhere near enough tomato sauce on it. I'd be happy to try it again in the future, not well done so I could get the appropriately chewy crust, and not overly burned cheese, and I would definitely request more sauce I ordered the veggie lasagna, which I thought would be a marinara based lasagna with vegetables in it, but it turned out to be a cream-based lasagna, with broccoli mushrooms and spinach. It was hearty, and tasted pretty good, though the noodles were a little bit over done. I thought they should've been a little al-dente. It certainly was an impressive looking dish with a bit of marinara sauce around the edges. Nothing not authentic about it. All of the dishes that came out to everyone had very generous portions and for the most part people people enjoyed their meals, though one of the teenagers did comment that they didn't think their pasta pasta dish was all that great. I should also mention I had the house chianti wine. Generally I am a Cabernet drinking person but being in an Italian restaurant it's nice to drink an Italian wine. House wines can often be on the lower end in terms of taste and drinkability, but I found this to be surprisingly smooth and just the right amount of sweet for a wine. read more
