The flatbread was okay, but it seemed carelessly prepared. There was barely any spinach and the artichoke pieces could have been cut thinner and better spread. It really just seemed as if the cook threw them on and said "good enough." Only positives of this experience were staff being friendly and prices being low due to getting there on time for the happy hour. Overall wouldn't recommend. read more

Despite living in Miami Lakes for 12 years, I had never been. I have always intended to visit but just not got around to it. I had an eggplant appetiser which I really enjoyed. I realized that I had in fact reviewed this Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza when I worked in the area. Recently, a lfriend and I had a chance to stop by for a lazy Sunday casual dinner and have to say it still is a great place to eat. Disclaimer the only reason I'm holding off from the fifth star is because we only had one pizza dish But I can see how I can become reacquainted with this place again when I want to "mangiare". As I mentioned before, it is located in the Royal Oaks Plaza, right on Miami Lakes Dr. and thus there a good amount of parking. My friend got in a little bit before I did, and she was able to secure us a table within line of sight of the TVs showing a football playoff. Our waiter was helpful in helping us find our wine selection (her Pino and my moscato). Yes, I am on my white wine era. We decided to share the eight-slice meatball and ricotta pizza. The crust had a nice crisp to it and was served with the right amount of heat to be tasty, and lots of eponymous mozzarella & meatball bits. There's also a good amount of marinara sauce baked in. The slices were big enough that we were able to get a bunch for takeout and have lunch ready today. The [[HIGHLIGHT]]tables are set up mostly for family style dining or individual tables instead of booths, but we were still able to get comfortable and watch the game (ro[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]oting for the "team who breaks tables" instead of "Taylor's boyfriend" lol). Although the football score turned out opposite of what we would've liked, we had a good time and appreciate that servers weren't chasing us out. First of all, it took forever for us to be told to grab a seat and once we did sit, it took us about 25-30 minutes to be asked for drinks and food. Then we had to wait nearly an hour for even the wings to come out (keep in mind, the restaurant was empty), and the wings came out before the drinks which hello? The food itself was actually delicious as it tends to be, but the service? Genuinely horrible. The servers were in a bar just chatting and then me and my family were waiting 15 minutes for a box! They didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or anything. We spent like 3 hours at this place when we would usually be out in 1 hour and a half. Not a great experience! read more

Last week I stopped here on my way home. I got a small house salad with 6 garlic rolls and a slice of cheesecake. I wasn't in the mood for pizza. I phoned in my order and the lady was pleasant. When I picked up my order it was ready and I was in and out of there fast. My salad was delicious. I find the salads to be fresh at all their locations, whether I dine in or take out. My rolls were very good but could have used more garlic. The amount of garlic was skimpy. My cheesecake was good. I think the garlic roll taste might have altered the deliciousness of the cheesecake, it is usually better. That's ok. I was pleased overall with my food. I think of them as being fairly priced. Let's talk about it. I'm not sure what happened to this place. They were a go to for thin crust pizza, nice almost burnt undercarriage, nice crisp, and no flop. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was just very underwhelming. It tastes like they got the crust from a new frozen vendor. The pizza was soggy and the air fryer couldn't bring it back to life either. It's really lost its touch. Been to a few of their locations but I have to say I had the best experience at this location. I came with a small group of just three and we were seated right away. Our server was really nice and pleasant. She was also very quick in the beginning of our dining experience but ended up taking longer to get to us towards the end of our meal. We opted to get garlic knots, chicken wings(extra crispy) and a mikes hot honey pepperoni pizza. The food came out pretty quick. I have no complaints for the food at all. Everything was fresh and you could taste the great quality of ingredients. I'm definitely a sucker for anything sweet and spicy so the pizza was perfect. Didn't feel heavy after eating it and was not messy at all because honey can be pretty messy. The crispy chicken wings with a side of garlic Romano sauce on the side (recommended by a friend) was great decision to get. I ate all the wings and didn't share one wing. I haven't stepped inside an Anthony's in years. I also hadn't seen my friend in years (specifically two years). As a result, meeting up here seemed fitting. After lots of hugs and catching up, we managed to settle in and figure out what to order. We ended up each partaking in the lunch specials menu. An interesting tidbit - the lunch specials menu is available every day from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. That said, we both opted for pizza. Apparently the lunch specials pizza is quite generic unless you add toppings. That or if you get one of their specialities in a lunch size. We did this last part. I ordered a margarita, my friend an Italian sausage. Cannot speak for my friend's pizza, but mine was quite tasty. It was also a decent portion. You definitely won't go hungry here. Once we finished our pizzas, we chose to get dessert as my friend kept raving about their NY cheesecake. Personally I don't see the big deal about the cheesecake, but he enjoyed it profusely. Shrug. This is The Best Tuna Sandwich I've ever Tasted. Anthony's uses the Coal Fired oven to bake the bread a very thin bread almost like a pizza crust and then! They put chunks of All White Albacore Tuna on there wit lettuce tomato and onion. And Fold it...It tastes like olive oil but there is definitely not any Mayo on this Tuna. It's surprisingly better than any Tuna with Mayo I've ever had. And every one who knows know I had mastered making Tuna when I was 10. I've ordered thru Yelp 2 days in a row.
