Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my dad's birthday and had such a great experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming--like you're dining at a family member's house. We even got to chat with the owner, which made the night feel extra special. He was super friendly and really made sure we were taken care of. You can tell this place is run with a lot of heart. The food was amazing. I had the chicken francese and it was chef's kiss--perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and that sauce was everything. The pasta and ravioli were also really good, fresh, and comforting. Omg The tiramisu. Hands down the BEST I've ever had. Light, creamy, perfectly balanced...we were fighting over the last bite. Overall, such a great spot for a family dinner or special occasion. This restaurant isn't safe for those with Celiac. Never going back as sad as it makes us. Two visits in a month and both times the "gluten free" pasta has gotten my wife(celiac) very sick. We ask them if they're safe with cross contamination. We explain celiac. They seem to care. Yet 3 times in a year she's gotten sick after eating there. Our neighborhood Italian place has let us down for the last time. The meatball appetizer I got was clearly frozen meatballs from a bag. None of the pasta is from scratch. It's all out of boxes. From the moment I called to make a reservation of 13 for my husband's birthday to the moment we left, there was not a moment that was anything less than amazing. Our waiter(s), had someone taking our order and another gentleman taking care of our needs. Both were spot on. Never an empty glass or bread bowl. They genuinely care about their food and customers. The food - wow, the food!! Probably the BEST carbonara we have ever had, and we've tried a lot. Creamy and flavorful, the salty from the pancetta with the savor of the chicken (added). Yum! I also tried their Alfredo (can't go wrong!) and the pizza too! The mozzarella cheese sticks were homemade, as everything is. Highly recommend stopping by for authentic Italian food made with love. Walked in with a party of four. The first thing we noticed? A tablecloth stained with tomato sauce and oil. Off to a great start. Then came the "menu"--a flimsy paper pamphlet that looked like a takeout flyer. Is this dine-in or drive-thru? They served warm bread with oil and za'atar. Nice? Maybe. Confusing? Definitely. Last I checked, we weren't at a Middle Eastern restaurant. Why za'atar? No explanation given. It only got worse. The kids asked for spaghetti with no meatballs. They got spaghetti with meatballs. One job. I asked for spaghetti primavera, no dairy. The chef apparently decided that penne primavera was better--and then topped it with Parmesan. So much for "no dairy." My wife ordered pasta with vodka sauce. What she got was a bowl of overcooked pasta drowning in what could best be described as tomato soup. I asked the waiter what Moscatos they had. He disappeared without a word and came back with a glass of something. No label, no explanation, no options. Just a mystery wine. We skipped dessert--because by then, we just wanted to leave. Bottom line: sloppy service, chaotic kitchen, zero attention to detail. This place doesn't know what it wants to be-uber must be keeping it alive. They tired to make it right. The waiter was very nice. Blamed the mishaps on the chef. But he was attentive. Just had his mind on something else. May give them another chance if we have money to burn. read more

Penne Quattro formiaggo was dry, and the sauce tasted worse than canned Ragú sauce. Grilled Chicken seemed to be canned with added spices to TRY and cover up chicken that was definitely not normal. Pictures posted on here are not anything like the foods served. Didn't even take pictures from how disappointed we all were. Lobster ravioli also seemed to be with canned sauce. It was okay. I had this place bookmarked for a while, so the hubby and I finally tried it yesterday for an early dinner. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't great either, which should not be the case at this price point. We sat outside because the inside was not appealing. I read some reviews saying it was a romantic spot, but I did not find anything romantic about it. They only have 3 tables inside for a couple and they are awkwardly placed in what appears to be a high traffic area. The other tables were for large groups and the furniture/decor seemed very outdated. Service was good, but we were the only customers at the time, so that's not a surprise. The mozzarella sticks were good, but not 6 sticks for $16.99 good. I ordered the pizza and my hubby ordered spaghetti with meatballs. Both were just okay. (I love pizza but ate 2 slices of the 4 and gave the rest away to my in-laws at home, which says a lot because I rarely share my leftover pizza, but this one was not worth finishing or reheating). I had a side of fries that were pretty good. We also shared a tiramisu, but that was also just okay. The best thing we had was a bottle of red house wine for $30. For over $110 for the two of us, we were underwhelmed. I removed it from my list and we will not be back. If their prices were more reasonable, we would consider giving it another try, but it just isn't worth the expense. We don't mind splurging on a great dinner, but not fans of splurging on a mediocre one. They don't even have real menus, only takeaway paper menus (and broken ones at that!). The host said it was no problem they could seat us right away and they got us a table and sat down quickly. We got our menus but it took a few minutes for anyone to come to us. The owner, which we know now but didn't at the time, noticed we were waiting and immediately had a couple waiters jump in and have them serve us. For the inconvenience also brought out 3 appetizers. WOW! Why did it take me so long to try this local Italian spot? All the food was delicious but the carbonara was a standout! Our waiter suggested the perfect bottle of red wine after I told him I prefer a non-acid kind of red. I even took a picture of the label to buy again later. We went on a Friday night and sat outside. There was live music starting at 6:30 but it wasn't too loud and you could still talk to people at the table. Only thing I will say is that the desserts were not as good as our entrees. After having a terrible experience on Valentines Day, not receiving my food after waiting an hour and the waitress being incompetent, the young man in the front who seems to run the place did a great job apologizing. Our food was covered and we were gifted a wine. He was very apologetic and sincere, making the bad experience, in all honesty, be not so bad. I will be back to give the restaurant a second chance and ask for him specifically. Accountability goes a long way and the food was great when I got home. The only issue was the waitress and the long wait time which resulted in miscommunication or her forgetting to ring up our food. Okay made a return visit yesterday. Food was still very good. But staff had trouble understanding English. Many questions had to go unanswered, and they couldn't split the check for some reason. But the worst was when we asked for a Cesar salad ( which was excellent), they didn't tell us it was a $12 up charge! That's a big oversight and we were disappointed and a bit surprised when we got the check. While the salad was good, it certainly wasn't worth $12 over the house salad that comes with your meal. This restaurant is a staple in the Miami Lakes area! I've either dined in or ordered take out on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience. The dine-in experience is wonderful as the owner is typically around and likes to stop by each table and chat/ check-in with guests - the staff is also very friendly and attentive! On weekends they have a live performer which is an added bonus. Food is great, however, I'm guilty of ordering the same entree each time (linguini vongole) as I know that it will never disappoint!
