took a date here on friday afternoon for the sunset special. the service was pretty good, we got over looked because of our age and what we were wearing, should that be expected at a place like this?? my meal the blackened rock fish was good but i wasn't a fan of the wild rice. and my date got the coho/bay shrimp entree the salmon was amazingly flavorless but cooked perfectly. all in all it was a good meal for $20 a piece, but i was def not impressed enough to ever go back and pay full menu price for what i got. read more

I can only review the service because we left before we were seated. We went on Sunday July 3 they looked to have 3 tables and 3 workers at the hostess station, yet it took several minutes to get seated. When we were seated they put us in a booth for 4 large adults and 2 kids. Thinking it would not be an issue we asked for a table since most of the place was empty. Well after another long wait we decided to go somewhere else. At this point and only at this point did the staff seem to care. Over 30 minutes to get a soft drink and then only when I asked for the manager. My annoyance diminished an otherwise delicious meal. For the price, expect better service. read more

We had a wonderful dining experience on Wednesday 3/6. We were seated right away, and the 3 of us each ordered a different entreé from the Sunset Dinners menu. I had Petrale Sole, another had Blackened Rockfish, and another the Northwest Duet. Each dish was absolutely fabulous! And the small dessert afterwards really makes for a exquisite finish! Pricey, but worth the view. I look forward to going here during the summer to see the Puget Sound. Went here during the Christmas season and the sailboats out front are all lit with Christmas lights. Get there before 6pm and enjoy a fabulous bargain -- the four course Sunset Dinner. It's a screaming bargain. Check out the current menu on-line, but our experiences have been that it's all good. I had the Willipa Bay Oysters and they were perfectly done and the entire meal was very filling. The restaurant has a nice view of the marina and Puget Sound and the service was very good. In my 20 years of living in Edmonds, I have always dined in the ground level Beach Cafe. I just never had any cause to venture up to the big kids restaurant. Last Friday I finally made it up and out to the deck for happy hour. Turns out I picked a good day because Taste of Edmonds was happening drawing the crowd and so we had our choice of tables out on the deck. Calamari, crab dip, fish & chips, Dave's IPA, classic northwest summer day ... you might say it was an Edmonds Kind of Day. read more

Is this the best dining establishment I've ever been to? No, certainly not. Our server was overzealous, and that's putting it nicely. It's not even the best food around. What is so great about this place is location (on Puget Sound). My family and I were able to sit in a great spot, overlooking the water. The cost of food is also quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of the Sunset dinners: for about $20 I got an artichoke dip appetizer (I wanted the oysters but the water was too warm), caesar salad, seafood linguine entree, and a chocolate mousse for dessert. All of this while looking at the beautiful water, in a beautiful town! I hope to come back here. read more

REVIEWING ANTHONY'S BEACH CAFE (downstairs from reg. Anthony's) Personally the upper Anthony's is expensive and so not worth it! Okay so I just absolutely love this place! It is right on beach and if you are lucky you can get a great view of the water. The sunsets are to die for! Lots of outdoor seating but careful because it is near a kid's sandbox. The food is affordable and cheap compared to the other restaurants on the water in Seattle. They have great deals like all you can eat prawns and chips which has an excellent batter (Tuesday's only) The fish tacos 10 bucks, steak and prawns 15 bucks and garlic prawns with potatos and veggies is 14 bucks.. Lots of other meals for under the 12 dollar range. Great service but they are rather busy. They don't take reservations so come nearer to closing like at 8:15 or earlier but mind you this is Edmonds so the elderly are abundant and those sweet people eat rather early.. Great for lunch or dinner and great mellow atmosphere overall. read more

My father took my husband and I here for a special lunch and it was fabulous. Our server was terrific - very attentive, helpful with his recommendations and understanding (my 80+ year old father tends to be extremely impatient regarding food service) but our server handled it all with a great attitude and good humor. Been going to this Anthony's location for over 25 years. Even after moving to California, whenever I visit Seattle, I always return here. They are an institution. Near Edmond ferry dock with view of the Puget Sound. Excellent choice of fresh seafood. Service has been very good whenever I visit. Plenty of parking. Only thing I might have to make a comment is that it's about time to remodel, they haven't changed since I've been coming here since the 80's. The service and quality unite as a power couple at Anthony's. We went to Anthony's to celebrate a birthday and while eating completely forgot the reason we were there because the food was so incredible. I have a severe dairy allergy and the waiter was proactive is letting me know what to stay away from on the menu and what could be modified to fit my needs. We were seated next to a window right away and enjoyed the view, the lighting and the helpfulness and soft-spokeness of our wonderful waiter. 30 years ago, my wife and I considered this one of our staple nice local restaurants. Then we had several bad experiences in a row, and wrote them off our list. Again, I am talking over 25 years ago. Recently as part of a Christmas bonus I received $200 in gift cards to Anthony's, so of course we had to go. We went on a Sunday, about 6pm. They were not empty, but not busy. We were seated immediately at a nice table overlooking the water. We were promptly served water and warm bread (with good butter) and shortly after our waitress came and took our drink orders and told us of the daily features. We began our meal with salads; her the dinner salad, me the Caesar salad. Both were large and fresh and tasty. For the entree my wife had smoked salmon fettuccine, and I had mahi mahi and prawns. She was thrilled with hers, as I was with mine. Flavor, texture, even the sides (rice pilaf, broccoli) were delicious. The only issue, and it was very small, was our entrees were brought shortly after we received our salads. I gobbled my salad down in a few bites and my wife set hers aside and finished it after the main course. For desert my wife had the chocolate cake. It was chocolate with more chocolate and I think some chocolate in the center. She likes chocolate. So, great service, ambiance and food! We will definitely be back. read more

Very very disappointed in the Edmond's Anthonys Home Port. The crab cake appetizers were 'fishy' tasting. I mentioned it to the server and she checked with the chef and manager and they assurred me it was fresh crab. It wasn't fresh crab. The food-when it finally arrived- was cold. Sent it back and it returned half cooked. Both times the baked potato was just plain cold. The hollandaise was What? That was hollandaise? Could have fooled me.The vegetables were over cooked and dried out. And to add insult to injury, the Creme Brulee was soupy - not set up at all. And, they no longer carry any 18 yr old scotches. We came here on a busy Saturday night (yes, we had reservations) and despite it being a full house, the service was attentive. We had a table at the window with a beautiful view of Puget Sound and the ferry crossing. The food was excellent although a bit overpriced, in our opinion. I guess when you can deliver those views, you can charge top dollar. Salad/soup was not included in the entree price, so that was extra. My husband started with a seasonal spinach salad with strawberry and rhubarb in it and some kind of poppyseed dressing. I started with the clam chowder, which was thick and creamy. He ordered copper river salmon and halibut duo, and both fish were cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp and crab chopped salad, which was really tasty with big chunks of crab on it. It had little or no dressing on it (I couldn't detect any), but that was okay with me. We got the Bailey's mousse for dessert, and that was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. All in all, it was a perfect meal and place to celebrate our anniversary. read more

My husband and I have been here 2x and both times did not disappoint! The view was gorgeous, great service, and the food was fabulous. I had the Alaskan Salmon with nectarine/peach salsa and it was absolutely wonderful. The seasonal salad with peach vinagarette dressing was amazing too. My husband had salmon and crab cake and we would both agree that Anthony's has the best crab cakes. We will continue to go back for those special occassions or times when we just want to treat ourselves. Highly recommend! read more

This is hopefully an anomaly, but last night we went to Anthony's for dinner and the experience was unfortunate. We both order the surf and turf special - steak oscar - and both got terrible steaks. Tough, chewy with gristle. Supposed to be top sirloin, but it was bad. We have been to Anthony's in Edmonds many times, and it has always been a good experience. The staff is great and the location is very enjoyable. Maybe the secret is to stay away from the steak and stick to the seafood. read more
