Recently went to Anthony's kitchen & cocktails. It was recently renovated according to Johnny our hospitable bartender and it's so cute inside. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the warm toasty bread they brought us while we decided from their delicious sounding menu items. We started with the baked clams, they were the only thing i probably wasn't crazy about. They were on the small side for the price point. Our entrees were fantastic. The portion of chicken park in the creamy vodka sauce was huge. The chicken stack had a plentiful amount of prosciutto and was crispy without being dry. Went here to celebrate a birthday. I've been here a few times. I don't have all the pictures of every food item but we've always loved everything. The restaurant is also very pretty with a great atmosphere. We had a Cesar salad artichoke hearts and fried calamari to start. Then for our mains we had salmon which was delicious and cooked at the perfect temperature, pork chops with mashed potatoes and spinach, shrimp Luciano and shrimp oreganata. The shrimp was very fresh and all the sides were very tasty too. For dessert we had tartufo. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and very sweet. We went out for a birthday celebration. It's a cute nicely lit Italian restaurant. There are good classic options. My friends went with veal, pork chops and I had spicy shrimp, which had red pepper flakes. Everything is served over spinach with the option to add on any other side. We had the meatballs and meat and cheese plate to start which was fair, a few pieces of standard parm, etc. and salami, prosciutto was very nice. The deserts were delicious and the gentleman who saw us waiting had us try a delicious after dinner drink. The cocktail menu was creative and the drinks were well done. Five stars isn't enough! We made a reservation and arrived a bit early. We were sat right away however we were put at the first table by the door. We asked to be moved since it was cold and rainy and the door was being thrown open from guests/valet going in and out. Without any hesitation we were moved to a much much more comfortable area. Thank you! We were served by John, he was knowledgeable of the menu and had some great recommendations. We tried the Anthony's Mule drink which is made with a fig vodka. A nice change and very tasty! We were served warm bread and when our appetizer came, they brought more bread for dunking. John was right, we did need more it was sooooooo good in the Clams pot! The clams were a nice size, not tiny, not huge and chewy. Just right! They were served in a pink sauce which we scooped out of the bowl when we were done. It was just that good. I have literally never ordered a chicken parm at a restaurant, I've tried some before and just never really am a fan. But after John told us how good it was, I decided to go for it. I'm so glad I did. The Vodka Parm was soooo tasty! The chicken was breaded perfectly and I ordered it over cavatelli pasta that was cooked nice and al dente. My boyfriend ordered Veal Francese over linguine which he ate the whole thing and loved it as well. There are two bathrooms, I'd recommend going to the one up the steps. The one I have a photo of is fine but the door opens to the dining room so thankfully I remembered to lock it or that would have been awkward lol. It was so immaculately clean the only complaint I have is that the mirror is pretty high up! The restaurant was spotless, everyone was kind and every bite we had was delicious. The Sunday Pot has a little bit of everything: meatball, sausage, braciole in 3-hour simmered sauce. Pork Chop Sinatra has some kick, covered in cherry peppers and roasted potatoes on the side. I don't understand why the reviews are so good, this place was slightly below average, not bad but definitely not good. The chicken on the chicken parm was thick and not well cleaned. The drinks were bad. We also ordered the artichoke app which was fine and a pasta dish that my husband called "decent". The service was friendly and pretty good, so Anthony's definitely had that going for it. I live on the same block and sadly I don't think I can justify coming back - skip it and head to Bella Notte or Mio Posto. read more

And the food and service was just as fantastic as my first visit last November on our anniversary. Came here on a Saturday, and as a table of 4, we were able to get seated right away! Small cozy space, and the food was wonderful! Our favorite dish was by FAR the Chicken Americana!!!!! We had been there a few years back. We returned and it all seemed different. Inside felt as if they moved things around. They added some back room, but what that did was made it actually colder inside (winter time) with cross from front door. We sat at the bar, and wanted food. They were crowded with a back room party. The bartender was working hard, but he was solo. They should have prepared for that. My issue was the owner or manager seemed to be walking around, but telling people what to do. Better would have been chip in and get your hands dirty! We waited about 16 minutes just to get our drink order taken. Drinks were fine but nothing special. Rushed, as he was trying to get orders in. About 28 mins passed, and they asked what we wanted to eat and we had to pass on that. It was too much time that had passed. Sadly, due to that experience, we will probably not be back. read more

Our first visit here, we have been looking forward to trying this place since it opened last year. They did not disappoint. For starters we had the Eggplant Tower Appetizer, Fried Calamari and Expresso Martinis, a great beginning. The Eggplant Tower was stacked high with grilled or fried eggplant, tomato and zucchini. Topped off with a balsamic reduction and pesto, it was delicious. The Calamari was good and the Expresso Martinis were perfect. We used the crusty bread to soak up all of the left over pesto and balsamic reduction. The Chicken Americano gets very high marks. The vodka sauce was excellent and the portion of chicken was quite sizable however the pasta it was served over was not enough for the men in our group. I will also note the chicken was very tender and in addition to the vodka sauce it was cover with melted mozzarella. The Shrimp Luciano was very good. The shrimp were a good size, served with sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. The Shrimp and White Clam sauce was loaded with shrimp and fresh clams. Unfortunately as a bit too salty for our taste. This could have been a side effect of using fresh clams. The wait staff was very attentive, the food was fresh and presentation was excellent. . Overall very good to excellent dining experience. Anthony's Cocktails This spot opened up mid-lockdown on Merrick Road in Bellmore (correct me if I'm wrong). Every time I drive by, it looks pretty empty, but I've heard wonderful things online, so it's been sitting on my "To Try" list. I finally had to opportunity to visit for dinner on Tuesday with a dear friend. Food/Drink: We ordered the Anthony Mule, and the Elderflower Collins along with Calamari to start. Unfortunately, the drinks were quite disappointing. I think because my friend and I are in our mid twenties, they thought they could pull one over us to reduce their cost. The alcohol in both of our drinks tasted like pure nail polish. We could barely finish them. On the other hand, the calamari was delicious, and breaded very well. For our entree we decided to split the infamous "money bag" pasta with shrimp. The pasta is filled with pear and ricotta, and tossed with shrimp in a white wine/butter sauce. It was pretty good, and the portion was perfect. Ambiance: They renovated the inside of this place, adding a statement faux stone wall, wooden planks, and some nice chandeliers. It is reminiscent of a luxury cabin. The place isn't big by any means, however they do a wonderful job at spacing out the tables with plexiglass dividers-- very covid cautious, which was much appreciated. The only complaint about the ambiance was that they blast club music, which is a bit strange for a formal restaurant. Service: As we walked in, we were greeted and seated immediately. We went around 6:45 PM, and the place was empty. An hour later, two more couples arrived. Our waiter was very attentive, and checked in with us regularly. The manager even came over to check in, which we appreciated greatly. Other: I have to make a comment about the parking situation. It is absolutely horrendous and dangerous. There is only enough room for one car in the path to the lot, and the lot itself is very tiny. It is difficult to maneuver, we ended up having to ask someone to move their car so we could exit properly. My tip is to park on the street directly in front. Overall Anthony's was pretty good. Would I return? Eh. There are other restaurants on Merrick Road that are comparable in price and food, with much better parking situations. Don't get me wrong, this place was nice, but there was nothing that "WOW'ed" us in our experience here. read more

The Fried Calamari was the best I have ever had and the bucatini special was out of this world. However, my only reason for only 4 stars was the prices for lunch. They were the same as dinner prices. I would strongly recommend having lunch specials with fixed prices that might be smaller potions but include maybe soup or salad and coffee/tea. Went for a date night with the Mrs. A lot about the night was a miss. I'd like to give 3.5 but don't have the options. Drinks were OK - Spicy Margarita was a bit too spicy and the Paloma was a bit too sweet. We had the mussels which were great. The place isn't big but is super loud with annoying 80s club music blasting. I had the Pork Chip Sinatra and she had the stuffed veal. They were ok but not memorable or something I would get again.
