2.10.23 It's a long overdue time for this one. I have been here many times over the years when I'm in the area and they have never disappointed. The food is always tasty and the prices are in line to what they should be and reasonable. I've tried a bunch of different items from pizza to apps to their salads and again, always happy with what I've ordered. I have done pick up and eaten in and the service is always pleasant and upbeat. They're always nice and it has never seemed like an inconvenience like other places i frequent. They are kind and happy to take care of you. Always accommodating. The decor inside is a little dated but with an old school vibe and nice ambiance nonetheless. They do have something different with their pizzas that i haven't seen at any other place. Their pizzas come with the option of thin, medium or thick and golden, crispy or well done. It is kind of cool. It sets them apart from the dozens of other pizza places around. It depends on the mood you're in for what you decide to pick for your pizza dough option. Again, cool imo. One of my favorites is their sausage and cheese pizza. The quality of their ingredients are spot on too. Some of the pizza places i order a sausage pizza from use lower quality sausage. Their sausage and their mozzarella cheese are spot on. Delicious and returning visits are in the works. There is street parking and a small lot on the side of their building. We used to love Anthony's, but we ordered on Friday and were completely disappointment. We ordered two things, a large Buffalo Chicken Pizza and an appetizer size Mozzarella, it came out to $40! While we do understand prices have gone up but $30 for a pizza is crazy! Plus it wasn't as good as it once was, we ordered it thin crust and crispy, it was very chewy and the flavor was eh. The mozzarella had eggplant in it but that wasn't stated on the menu. read more

I grew up in Watertown, and was used to pizza in the style of Ro's, Ashie's, and Daveluy's. While I still like that style on occasion, I prefer New Haven style pizza, and Anthony's does a great job on this. They are also very friendly and helpful, and have a good family atmosphere. read more

Anthony's Restaurant was recommended by a good friend. They told me their pizza was very good. I went tonight based on that recommendation. I ordered the spinach and bacon thin crust crispy pizza. They give you the option of choosing what style of pizza you want. Thin crust, medium crust, thick crust and how you want it cooked. You can get it cooked golden, crispy or well done. I really appreciate that they give you these options. First time I ever saw that before. They did not disappoint. Delicious. I also ordered an antipasto salad. Fresh ingredients and hefty portions. The food is A+ . The seating area was filled with patrons of all ages enjoying a wide variety of dishes. That's always a good sign. They have small bar to the side with two televisions. Seems like a cool laid back place. Not to big and not to loud. Felt like a very comfortable and relaxed place to chill out after work or in the early evening. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Overall great experience. They will now be in my regular rotation of places I patronize. read more

I remember going to Anthony's once or twice when I was a kid, and after many years of driving by and wanting to go back, my fiancé and I finally made it in. First of all, you totally feel like you're part of the family when you walk in the door. Everyone was so welcoming, and many members of the same family work at the restaurant, so everyone is down-to-earth and comfortable with one another. We went around Christmas-time when they were serving these gorgeous winter cocktails! We also enjoyed their gigantic antipasto and bruschetta appetizers. Something that really stood out to me was the ability to choose between thin, medium, or thick crust pizza, as well as if you'd like your pizza light baked, medium, or well done. I think it's a great way to please everyone! The pizzas were incredible. I can't believe this little gem is in Oakville! The desserts were good too. Went with a couple of friends last minute on a Sat nite. Not crowded but people coming in and out for food to go. If you like thin crust pizza, this is the place. All their pizzas are delicious. Our waitress (who I wish I got her name!) was awesome. She suggested an espresso martini and it did not disappoint! The antipasto was a serving for six people. The red vinaigrette and parmesan dressing very good. The pizza was so good pepperoni and onions. There was hard boiled eggs, artichokes, salami, fresh to atos, cucumbers, olives, mozzarella cheese, pepperoncini, green pepper, red onion, fresh tomatoes, fresh lettuce. They even had Bud light lime. Five star service from Emma, and young smiled when he brought over lids for dressing. We had two waitresses checking on us. Anthony's has been around for a long time and there's a reason for it. Consistency! Always great salad and pizza and a very nice low key atmosphere. I always enjoy sitting in the little bar area and having a meal there. Staff is very friendly and prices are very reasonable. We started off with the garden salad which my wife and I split and it was plenty for the 2 of us. They do offer family size portions as well. Next we moved onto our favorite pizza, sausage and green peppers. Another thing that separates this place from other pizza places in they offer 3 crust options. Thin, medium, or thick. We went with thin crust well done and it was perfect. They even offer you different variations of well done if you'd like. They have a couple draft beer choices or bottles. Also several wines to choose from and a cocktail menu as well. I must admit I have yet to try anything else other than the pizza here but they do offer dinners as well. Maybe next time I'll indulge! They have their own parking lot so there is no parking issues being located right on Main Street. Give them a try! read more

I live in Watertown and remember seeing Dave Portnoy from "One Bite Pizza Review" stop at Anthony's and he enjoyed their pizza. I finally tried it in 2020 and it's EXCELLENT PIZZA. You can order the pie golden, crisp or well done and thin crust, medium crust or thick crust and I love the thin & golden brown with sausage/mushroom...excellent pizza! read more

We've been coming here regularly for years; food and service has always been spectacular. Of all the local pizza places this is our favorite. Recently purchased and under new ownership, we love the facelift it has gotten and the fact the original kitchen staff remains. We tried Anthony's a few months back and we're amazed, we went away and when we came back the first place we needed to go was Anthony's!! And again it was a phenomenal experience. It was super busy yet the Food was just as amazing this time as last, and we had the same waitress. Her service was great as always and as I said in my last review her drinks are better than anywhere else !!! I don't normally go out of my way to review a place multiple times but I love to see that there are still some places left that with each visit the food and experience are the same! Always treat. We've enjoyed the pies for almost twenty years - delish. The sauce on these pies is our absolute favorite - just the right amount of salt with quality tomatoes, nothing too sweet, too thick or paste-y. Delicious old school crust that is always fresh - never dry/stale. Anthonys KNOWS HOW to prepare a crust to order - thick/thin, well done/ medium - it comes out perfect. Crazy on a Saturday night ,to be expected...They offer so many choices for your pizzas preparation " golden,crispy,or well done, thin ,medium, or thick crust..one downfall is they do not offer slices of cheese for the kids... Just hosted a reception here after my son's baptism and it was absolutely perfect! We had more than 50 people, so we filled the space to the brim and yet the servers didn't miss a beat. The kept the delicious pizzas coming, each one better than the last. Our guests especially loved the white clam and mashed potato pizzas. They also did a great job keeping plates cleared and all the beverages full and even sliced and served our cake for us. At the end of the night, they helped us pack up all the leftovers and even made sure we brought home the open bottles of wine. Because a lot of our family came from NY, it was the first time at Anthony's for many and it was nice how blown away they were by the pizza. I actually hadn't eaten here in about 15 years myself because I moved to NY and it was a real treat to see that the quality was still just as good as I remembered from my childhood. The owner was so helpful in planning the party and even called my mom the day after to make sure we were satisfied with how everything went. Would give 6 stars if we could and can't wait to throw another party here sometime! read more

So many pizza choices in the Watertown/Oakville area, sometimes it's easy to overlook a world class pie. Hadn't gone here for probably over 10 years. Not because it was bad, but back then they only took cash which was a hassle, and I just kind of starting going elsewhere. After driving by the other day and seeing the credit card sign, I decided to give it another try. Turned out to be a good call. They let you choose your crust type (thin, regular, thick) which is awesome, and I've tried them all...all amazing. They also let you choose how well done you want it from normal to crispy. For this re-visit we opted for a thick crust, crispy pie with a variety of meats. Pie was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly, super fresh toppings and a nice tangy sauce. Really delicious. We also went with the antipasto salad which was seriously one of the best pizza place salads we've ever had. We do salads with pizza often and many places just drop the ball there. Anthony's did it right, again. Overall, its a must try. Even if you're loyal to another, try this place once/once in awhile. Love it. read more

A fan of the New Haven style pizza, I am not a fan of driving the distance and waiting in line to get one most times. Anthony's is a nice thin crust, with a good sauce and fresh toppings pizza. There is always at least one good beer on tap. I also like the stuffed clam appetizer. It is a good solid pie! read more

My Favorite Pizza Place! If you know the area of Watertown/Waterbury/Oakville, you'll know that the place is packed with Italian Americans, and you'll know that there's a pizza place everywhere you look. You're rich in choices if you're looking for a good pizza place, I'd recommend Anthony's everyday of the week. They have the best tomato sauce around, and although I want to go for variety very often, I can't seem to escape getting a plain cheese pizza every time with insalata caprese. I love this place and the only thing that I'd want from them is delivery service, because other places around that are decent such as Martino's and Daveluy's offer delivery. If you're looking for a dinner out at a pizza restaurant, you should go to Anthony's 100% of the time. read more

Hands down the best pizza I've tried in the Waterbury area to date. You get your choice of crust style, all perfectly sauced, and a nice variety of appetizers from which to select. I'm a big fan of pepperoni, and theirs proves to be wonderfully crisp on baking. Even a pie featuring pepperoni, meatball and bacon doesn't come out ridiculously greasy. Came here with my son last week. Best pizza i've had in the waterbury area. I work in new haven and this pizza is just as good as the places on wooster street. Also, my waitress was fantastic. Anthony's has really good pizza. My advice is to eat at the restaurant because it tastes so much better vs take out. Thank god they finally accept credit cards. My family has lived in Oakville for 6 years and we tried this place about 8 months ago. We've been getting our pizza fix at Martino's but haven't been happy with the consistency the last few years. Anthony's is our new go to for pizza. We were a little intimated at first because they have a wide variety of options when it comes to preparing your pizza. We go with medium crust, cooked golden every time and haven't tried it cooked any other way. This place has the best pepperoni in the area. The other places in the area seem to use one that has strong pork flavor, and not enough spices to it. Parking can be a bit of a problem when it's busy or during the winter months. It's mostly on street parallel parking, but on the side of the store fronts there is a small parking lot at the opposite end of the building. They really don't have a kid friendly menu, my kid doesn't like pizza but they do have diner quality chicken tenders for appetizers. The desserts are mainly pre-made frozen, but they make a really good espresso. The bar is nothing special. They could offer a little more variety for beer. I give them 5 stars because the pizza is all that really matters in the end and among a metropolis of sub-par pizza they shine and come out on top. read more
