4.30.25 Today was an extremely special day here in Union City. Those close will understand how special more than others. Stopping here for the first time was a very special treat. This place is one of the self dubbed three kings of pizza from the brothers. Christos, Foucos & here. This was my first visit of many more to come. I will officially be a regular tomorrow afternoon as soon as lunch hits. The service here was very friendly. It's a pretty chill place inside with dozens upon dozens of pizza boxes stacked from the ground to way high up that's hard to reach. I picked up a to go order and it was ready quick quickly. They had it ready for me upon arrival. Moderately average priced. For my maiden voyage i picked up a small cheese pizza, which is always my baseline anytime I'm trying out a pizza place the first time. Also had to try out a meatball parm grinder and a foxon park birch beer soda. Oh yeah, almost forgot. I had to grab a slice of peanut butter pie. I was pretty sure it was love at first sight when I opened the pizza box, but, after I took my first bite i found out I was wrong. It wasn't love at first sight. It was infatuation after my first bite and I fell hard 4.30.25 on this very special great day. The pizza is super thin crust with ample amount of ooey gooey melted delicious cheese and just the right amount of olive oil. Super light nutty mouth gasm. This pizza place knocked it outta the park it was so good. The meatball parm was good. A regular good/average for me that wasn't noteworthy because the pizza seriously overshadowed the grinder. That's how good this pizza was and is. The birch beer sets it off perfectly. Not many places carry the birch beer. Tasty. Can't wait to try something else for lunch tomorrow. If you follow CT pizza goings on, you may know of Fuoco in Cheshire, Christo's in Wallingford or this pizzeria -- Luna Wood-Fired Pizza in Naugatuck. Each is owned by one of the three Constanti brothers. They've started calling themselves the Three Kings, and have the pizza boxes to prove it. Each has been rated by Dave Portnoy of Barstool and each has received a very good score. Luna scored an 8.1. I have been to Fuoco and Christo's, and as I recently sat in Seymour, I realized I'd be driving by Luna's on the way home. I wasn't crazy hungry, but I couldn't let the opportunity pass. As far as I know, this Luna's has no connection to the many Luna's pizzas that have operated at various times in Central CT. It specializes in woodfired New Haven style Apizza, but they also serve Detroit style. Unless there was seating in a side room I missed, Luna's appears to be takeout only. I ordered a small Original Mozarella by phone. It was ready at the designated time. It was kind of quiet when I entered around noon on a Sunday. Overall, the pizza was very good. The crust had good char and wood flavor. It was crispy, good-chewy and not overly floppy. The cheese was well melted and had kind of that cool marbled appearance. The sauce didn't pop for me, which isn't to the say the sauce wasn't good. It just didn't stand out because of the ratio of sauce to cheese to crust. I'd prefer it with a bit less cheese and more sauce. I wouldn't change the crust. I tried to isolate a bit of the sauce. It seemed like it was good, but I couldn't get enough to tell for sure. 4.5 Stars. I would definitely return if I was in the area, but I wouldn't make the 40 minute drive from home since I have similar quality nearby options. read more

For a while, Luna used to be our favorite in town. I'm not sure if my personal pizza preferences have changed, which they very well could have, but often times I'm left wanting something different. It's just a bit too charred and smoky tasting from being wood-fired for my liking. The end crust has shattered in my hand before because it's so thin and crispy. I also think it leans more heavy on sauce than cheese. It's still one of the better options in town and for wood-fired in the area, but often times doesn't satisfy my craving for cheese pizza the way I want it to. read more

Awesome pizza !! We dropped in this afternoon and ordered a large 1/2 Pepperoni pie. This was pizza perfection -- the sauce was spot on perfect, the char was perfect, and the crust had the perfect chew. The pizza they serve at Luna can match up against anyone, including the best in Connecticut. It's really a "hidden gem", that gets overshadowed in the CT pizza scene by New Haven and the two shops run by other brothers, Christos in Wallingford, and Fuoco in Cheshire. I wrote a review on a different thread and I have to say, Luna pizza keeps getting better and better. I commented last time that they were light on the topping, well not anymore. They piled on just the right amount of sausage this time making this a fantastic pie. The crust was good as always! The sauce is unbeatable! And there's motz to die for. If Luna keeps this up, New Haven is going to get dethroned as the pizza capital of the world. Pizza critic Dave Portnoy needs to come back to Luna's and re-score this pie. An 8.1 score is unjustified. Lastly, if you like Luna, then you'll also like the other Kings of pizza, Fuoco (in Cheshire) and Christo's (in Wallingford). Bon appetit... that's a review. read more

Finally got to cross another pizzeria off my list of places I've wanted to visit. Was in a bit of a time crunch so called ahead and asked if they could make the pizza beforehand so it would be ready upon arrival, very accommodating. We also got an order of eggrolls and they had a table ready for us once we arrived. Nice little place, not very big. I get the vibes it's more takeout as they only had about 3 tables inside for those wanting a quick bite. Eggrolls were good size, they don't slice them which is a different but enjoyable take, loved the dipping sauce it came with as well. Now to the pizza. Perfect char and undercarriage, cooked to absolute perfection in their wood fired oven which is impressive to look at. Moved out of Connecticut in 2008 and the one thing I miss is the pizza. I ask my parents to order pizza for my first meal home and my mom ordered Luna's. It was my first time having Lunas and it definitely hit the New Haven style coal fired spot. There is nothing like it in any other state and I will die on that hill. It was delicious! We moved from Glastonbury 2 years ago and I've missed this pizza. We visited yesterday and I was full of anticipation. There were literally 2 little (size of a dime) pieces of sausage on most pieces. When we were leaving, we saw that the slices that were sold individually (albeit larger slices) had like ten pieces on them. Also, one side of the pizza had well-done crust. How disappointing. We normally order from Fuoco but they were on vacation. We had seen Dave Portnoy do a review of this place and discovered that this was one of the brothers of the Fuoco owner. The pizza was crisp and very tasty! I have to say Fuoco is a little better and closer and I like to support businesses in town but I do recommend this place. read more

Been wanting to try the kiln dried firewood for some time now. The pizza itself is really good, nice flavor interesting specials. Was surprised by the steak fajita pizza that had a nice crunch and seasoning. The crust was a little tough for me and thin on the edges. Had delivery from Luna Pizza recently, and it wasn't bad. The problem with delivery pizza as a whole is that it sits in a box and steams itself on its way to your destination. I surely don't know what the answer is, but as-is it leads to a lesser experience when the style of the pizza is supposed to have a great crisp. Anyhow, I certainly loved the BBQ chicken pizza, taste was great. Just wish it had more crisp, which I'm sure was there when it came out of the oven. Will have to try on site one day! read more

My co-workers and I ordered a family meal, what a disappointment! We called to ask about the sauce that was watered down and their response was "that's how we make it" . If that is how you make it then do not call it vodka sauce because that's not how you make vodka sauce. where is the heavy cream and cheese? When you've heard good things around town, you order a little bit of everything. The part that ruins it is all the food coming COLD not even warm. The addition of HAIR baked in it, wasn't a topping even on the menu. The wings were cold so they lost all their crisp, the Philly steak egg rolls were cold making them soggy and why it comes with Big Mac sauce I have no clue. 3 pizzas and two sides, not a thing was warm. I've been here multiple times and also made it to Fuoco once. I wish that I could say I loved this place, but that's not the case. I'd give their regular pizza 3.5 stars and I'd give the Detroit-style 1.5 stars, averaging 2.5 stars (rounding up to 3 stars). Their regular pies can be very good, although I've found them to be inconsistent, but I don't think they deserve the "Three Kings" hype even at their best. read more

"The Wood smells Good" I walked into Luna Pizza about a week ago to grab a takeout menu. There was wood piled to the ceiling and the wood burning oven smelled really good. This past Saturday night was so cold that my wife and I decided to eat at home and we called Luna for delivery. I was told that it would be 1-1/2 hours for delivery. They arrived in 45 minutes. That was the first plus for me. Then the food we ordered was excellent. We had a large cheese pizza, bourbon wings, and the mediterranean salad. The crust of the pizza was nice and thin. The sauce was tasty and it had plenty of mozzerella. The bourbon wings were a good size and the bourbon sauce was sticky and delicious. The mediterranean was very fresh and the grilled chicken on top of the salad was marinated and cooked to perfection. Luna is a great addition to the Naugatuck area. read more

Great new spot in town. Wood fired oven pies that are much better than most of the pizzas in Naugatuck. Wife and I got a large Luna Special (sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, pepper) and it was cooked perfectly, with a slight char around the crust. Wings were good. We assumed they would also be baked in the wood burning oven. Even though they weren't, they were nice and crispy and not overly sauced. In addition to low carb, I am also following Lent tradition with no meat on Fridays. I ordered the veggie pizza topping and added fresh garlic, olives & ricotta.
