I typically drive to Martino's for the best NY Style pizza in the area. However, last night we ordered delivery for a group. The staff was amazing, accommodating a few special requests for some of our guests, the delivery was literally exactly at the time they told me on the phone. Most importantly, the pizza was simply fantastic. I literally wonder why or how other NY Style places do any business in the area. We got three of our favorites: Large Meatball, Large Sausage and Mushroom, and a Large 757. The best. I regretted not ordering my all time favorite from there, the Sicilian, but it's huge as a whole pie and my guests wanted to try these varieties. Next time. I love everything about this place. Owner now is a complete jerk. Thinks he is some sort of gift to Pizza. Used to be a good spot. The food is fine. The owner really is in love with Donald Trump , which is fine but you dont need to be discussing politics, immigration, etc while making Pizza. Nobody cares. Shut your mouth and make your pizza. You guys do a solid job at that. He is also peddling hats for the 250th anniversary. Foul language in there. So many good places around that I see no need to support this place personally. So much promise, hopefully I just had a bad visit. My wife liked the gluten free pizza a lot, said it was top 10 places for gluten free "it's the worst of the best" BUT rhe pizza my daughter and I shared was burnt to the point of half if it just tasting like char unfortunately. Typically my daughter will eat 2-3 slices but she only had half of one and asked if it was ok to not finish. Staff was friendly and a bit scattered since it was so busy but I found this to add a charming flare to the location. I think we'll give this location another try before writing it off. read more

3.29.24 I've been here a bunch of times while in the area. The food is decent. The service is also good most of the time. This is when you get the older woman when the service is good. When you get one of the younger kids well, you know the sub par service they give. So obviously it's always better when you're dealing with the woman. They do sell slices and they're ginormous. So huge. I used to try their boneless wings which were good but lately they're always overcooked, well done, over crispy and hard. The parking lot situation is almost non existent. There's a tiny lot on the side of the building that fits a few cars. Most of the time you have to park along the road which works for a quick pick up for your food. There's no dining in. It's strictly take out and they also have delivery. But Lately they started charging a "SERVICE FEE" for pick up, to go, take out orders. I really don't know what this charge is for when you pick up your own orders and don't utilize their delivery. I was there a month ago most recent. Attached is my receipt. I called after I left within 15 minutes of driving away when I noticed this "SERVICE FEE" charge on my receipt. The woman answered and I asked what this charge was for. There was dead silence for a few seconds and I thought she hung up which she didn't. She responded saying they're in the middle of lunch and it's very busy, can she call me back and she'll explain it to me. I said of course. SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. At all. It's one month after this occurred and I've finally decided to post this review about my experience which has put a damper on my view of this business. read more

Was underwhelmed by the pizza I had yesterday but I saw that they had strombolis so I went back today. Being a transplant from nj I have a large sampling of good strombolis. This one was the best one I had from ct so far in my 7 years here and it rivals any one I had back home. It wasn't cheap because they charge $3.50 for each ingredient. I two Stromboli's that totaled $63.00. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but it was worth it. My son had the sausage and pepper Stromboli and he said it was great. read more

I live 10 minutes from Martino's and only just discovered how much of a hidden gem they are for pizza! Tucked away in a residential area, this pizzeria was killing it even at 3pm on a Saturday when we thought it would be an off time. They truly are the home of the giant slice for a reason! These slices were perfection, and they've totally nailed their crust - it stayed crispy and wasn't even a little bit floppy or soggy considering the amount of toppings/sauce/and cheese on each one. Their "heroes" and wings are fantastic too, and my fiancé who loves all things spicy approved of their intense sauce. The owner is clearly well-respected in the community, as nearly every car that passed by on Davis Street rolled down their window or beeped to say hi to him. Martino's is consistently our local go to pizzeria! They have been very accommodating and have provided us curbside pick up twice as we have been trying to social distance ourselves from going into the pizzeria. Their NY style slices are huge and always fresh, check out what they have daily as it changes. Whether you pick up or have it delivered it's always been on time and fresh, no complaints at all! Despite being crazy busy, their staff was super accommodating taking our order over phone and let us pay via credit card so we didn't have to exchange cash. This evening we order a pepperoni calzone which comes with a good side of marinara sauce and a large lasagna pizza. Both are crowd favorites in our house. Their delivery drivers are top tier. They'll usually say "give us 30-40 minutes" and they're almost always at your door in 20-25 and they're always friendly. Ordered for pickup online last night, 1st time, was going to get delivery but we are .4 miles out of 5 mile range. Aside from a few issues I'll note at the end of this review, we were pleasantly surprised & beyond thrilled with Martinos!! It's strictly a take out only establishment, which I didn't know but doesn't matter (photos below taken after we ate we were starving & I don't review often) We ordered a large chicken bacon ranch pizza with a side of hot sauce bc I wanted to add hot sauce to this pizza (& it was amazing, more on that to come), 10 boneless chicken wings with Chipotle BBQ w/red chili glaze sauce (truly devine), & we also ordered onion rings & slice of cheesecake (both not pictured but fabulous). Now I'll add that I've recently moved to the area from East Haven & it's very very hard to impress me with pizza, & Martinos absolutely impressed me! Here are my pros: Pros: food was delicious!! Pizza was very flavorful, proportioned perfectly & looked impressive too, crust not too thin & not too thick, nice crisp but not overdone. Wing flavor is out of this world fantastic! Incredible! Onion rings were nice & crispy, large portion in brown bag which soaked oil up perfectly! Cheesecake very tasty, nice size for only $3. Not the normal graham cracker crust but I can't say exactly what it was, still very yummy. Cons: I ordered online & as an afterthh thought I asked to add side ranch & side hot sauce. I didn't see these sides noted on menu for an up charge at the time, so I added in notes. In total we spent approx $48 on pizza, wings, onion rings & cheesecake slice. 10 wings came with a 2 ounce blue cheese & hubby likes that but I like ranch, I was surprised they upcharged to add 2 ounce ranch when it only came w/one 2 ounce for the amount of wings (10 for $12) Also while picking up the man at register, who was very kind & professional & explained politely about the up charge, he did say they included a 4 ounce blue cheese which is why they charged for 2 ounce ranch but I think they gave 2 ounce by mistake? Additionally a woman behind counter overheard & came over & grabbed receipt from him to check it & rudely read what I wrote as if I was not aware that I asked to "please add side ranch" & also pointed out I asked for that under the onion rings comment. I told them it's fine I just felt it was a little much charging more for ranch with what we ordered, & she huffed & abruptly retreated saying nothing else. Also they charged $0.90 for 4 ounce hot sauce I asked for, also fine but I felt it slightly excessive but after tasting it I can honestly say its absolutely delicious!! Sweet & spicy deliciousness & just wow!!! I'll buy extra next time too & yes we will definitely be back! Lastly I didn't realize that the online ordering convenience fee of $1.75 was for pickup as well until after picking up, my mistake yes but imo it's also convenient for them & just didn't sit well with me, but not huge deal overall bc the food was outstanding! In the end my cons are miniscual & the food delicious! We will be back soon to try the buffalo chicken pizza & for more delish wings! They are supposed to be Ordinary Joes wings but I think Joe would be mad if he saw or ate them. They are all tiny, taste like they have been under a heat lamp all day. Slap yourself in the face if you don't love this place!! Im absolutely in love with their gigantic slices of pizza. I've only been here twice and twice I've been happy. Salad and slices each time. Today I had the meatball salad ( which I won't do again) it basically cost me $6.95 for a meatball. I didn't feel like eating lettuce with sauce all over it. Otherwise it was rather dense the meatball, but delicious none the less. I'm definitely a fan!!! My favorite is their pizza. I mean I will definitely keep going here when I'm in town.their drink selection sux if u don't like soda or ice tea. U have poland spring water that's it... Well it's not $30 for a medium pizza... Check They don't charge for cooking bacon... Double check The slices are about $2.75 each and are bigger than my head!! Check check and check! Here's the thing, they do the only meatball salad in CT worth trying, it's the basis for what I rate all other meatball salads on. They even let me build my own salad if I want. The lady that runs the counter is really nice. Oh and BTW this review is for Watertown but the Oakville location is the originale. Love love love this place. My review has nothing to do with the food. We have been going here for years and love to support the small businesses. It has to do with our last visit where my husband went in to get a slice and no one was wearing a mask. And even some customers were not wearing masks. PIZZA AND WINGS!! What else do you need? Martino's Pizzaria is located across from 7-11, right where Adina's used to be. The pizzas that they serve are Brooklyn style, so they are pretty big. We have ordered one of the specialty pies, the buffalo chicken pizza, and another pizza with sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. Both the pizzas were delicious. The flavors of the buffalo chicken with the blue cheese and mozzarella blended together nicely. A bit greasy but that is how pizza is supposed to be, which makes it bad and delicious. I'd be concerned if the pizza was not greasy. We got an order of garlic buffalo wings with our pizza as well. Who knew garlic and buffalo sauce was a happy marriage? The wings were big and juicy and heavily saturated with the garlic buffalo sauce. The container that the wings were in was cleaned out in a matter of minutes. It was THAT good. If you have picky eaters, there are other items to order as well. They have pretty good selection of appetitzers, heros (subs), and even salads. There is something for everybody. Prices are pretty decent as well. We got a large speciality pizza and wings for just a little over 30 bucks. Not bad! While pizza places are so common in this area, with Watertown alone being home to more than a dozen of them, Martino's is one of the best. They have the "giant slice" which is almost $3 for a huge pizza slice, or preferably you can get a pizza to take out. There really isn't any room to eat inside so delivery or take-out is really your only options. Pizzas here are excellent with plenty of toppings and you really can't go wrong here, these guys know their stuff. Parking isn't the best as the lot can be hard to get in and out of and it's a dirt lot shared with the package store next to it. Their grinders are also amazing, some of the best around. The Italian combo was made just right, fresh and juicy, I loved it. It was $8, so it's not the cheapest around, but it's quality stuff and having it toasted made it just have the right amount of crunch, it's literally a million times better than some junk you'd get at a Subway or other chain place. While I wish they had some room inside to eat, the place is small, so there really isn't any room for tables, just a couple of seats if you wanted to grab a slice. Update: I've had their wings and the honey BBQ and garlic buffalo are excellent, cajun was pretty good. read more

Living in the Oakville/Watertown area for so many years, I've been somewhat of a Pizza gypsy. A lot of pizza places have come and gone, and some have been here since I got here. There's always been some quality stuff available, but I never seemed to like "connect" with a place and feel certain that it was worthy of being my "go to" pizza joint. So a few months ago, I decided to try the place that replaced one of those places that I had a fleeting affair with (Adina's). The whole idea of "Brooklyn" style pizza intrigued me. Even though I'm not FROM Brooklyn and don't really know what "Brooklyn" style pizza means...it just felt right to me. And I wasn't disappointed. The Pizza is amazing: nice thin crust, tangy sauce and cooked just right. And you can instantly taste the quality of the toppings. I'm not sure what they're using for sausage, but it's like...bionic sausage or something. Beyond that, the wings are some of the best I've had. I'm not saying there aren't better wings out there, I'm sure there are...somewhere. But this place is 5 minutes from me, case closed. This is my new place, and since that first visit, I haven't gone anywhere else. And I don't see myself WANTING to go anywhere else as long as Martino's is in business. read more

After I stop by and get three or four giant slices for me and my hubby. Then we get to sample all sorts of delicious combos! The eggplant is really good, too. They put fresh ricotta on the eggplant.
