Ordered take out later in the day, wanted to finally give this place a shot. The reviews were mixed but it seemed only fair. We got a large half bacon & half pepperoni, as well as some garlic knots. The garlic knots were pretty decent, some crispier than others but that was fine, & brought a side of marinara. In my opinion some real garlic could ve gone a long way into making them more than decent, as the dough itself was good. The pie itself half some flop to it but not to the point where everything fell apart. I personally liked the flavor of the sauce but felt the cheese could've been a bit cheesier & the pizza dough was good. Again, these are my personal opinions, everyone has their own. There's not much parking available at all, I parked on the side of the street; just for reference. The total price was also pretty decent for both items. 8.10.24 I tried the food here a couple times but they seemed to fall short each time. They're a couple of great guys with tremendous hospitality among them but I personally don't care for their food. Pizza was underwhelming and the meatball parm was bland and fell flat. Tiny place with very limited parking along the street. They do a ton of deliveries within this area. The first time I was there they forgot the pepperoni on my pizza. I brought it back for a refund. They immediately said without skipping a beat that they'll remake it for me. I didn't have time on my side that day. They them said that they'd deliver it to me but I wasn't going to be close by and was leaving town. They even mentioned to do some pepperoni and put it in top. I refused that one and said that's jimmy rigging it which is a no no in my book. They ended up refunding me then to remedy this situation. I was happy with that to end up giving them another try at a later time. In not saying the food is bad. I'm only saying that it's not likeable in my opinion. Their service was pretty quick to have the pizza made. No lengthy wait. The decor inside is plain. They were in the middle of a remodel when i was there. They recently took the place over from the original owners who were there for umpteen amounts of years before this. I wish them the best of luck in their future success with this place. read more

I got a steak, onion, and cheese grinder today and it was very good. I think one problem they have is the ginders are smaller than the competition. For smaller apetities that is great, but they should do a larger option I think. They have a new menu and the delivery guy really hustles and is really nice, I like him. I gave me a bigger tip and would have given more if I could have. I believe in tipping since I, myself, used to deliver pizzas. In my experience, the wealthy are the worst tippers, common working people tip better because they have more empathy. Next I'll get a salad I think.If they do that well, I'm sold again. They did so something smart, they are now on Slice, the app. I highly suggest putting Slice on your phone or desktop and ordering through it. Good going guys. Youve won me back over. Rocky's Pizza got some great brick oven pizza to offer in Waterbury. The owners are from Albania, and in the business for many years. Was great to meet one of them, and talk about Pizza, Albania and more interesting stuff. This place makes the pizza right in front of you from the dough to the box. This is one of my favorite pizza places close to my house. Very friendly staff always answer the phone very polite. The pizza is always delicious. Also the best garlic bread with cheese around. Very good chef salad. (I only wish they served sauce with the garlic bread though.& I haven't got a salad in a while b/c one time my cucumbers tasted like chemicals.) Great pizza! There are a lot of choices in Waterbury and these guys are pretty good.  I order delivery and they are always on time and nice. Also speaking of nice anytime I call I can understand them and they are super nice. Not like when I call another place that begins with a Z on Eastman street. People aren't very friendly. Pizza is good but they've lied about being open until 10. My boyfriend and I called a half hour apart, between 8:45 to 9:15 and the lady who answered was rude & deliberately hung up on our face just because we asked why the website said 10 pm. Good pizza. (It's not brick-oven though). As previous reviewer said, the place has been run by Albanians at least since the 1990s (that's how long I remember - might be even more). You might be talking about 3-4 different owners within that period, but for the most part nothing has changed. For a regular cheese pizza, Rocky's sauce is a bit sweeter than others and no other pizza around the area is like that, which I think gives it a nice change. I like having a rotation for my pizza line up (pizza from a greek place, Albanian, personal sized gourmet etc), and Rocky's always has a spot when I am around there. read more

I read the reviews for Rocky, and told myself that the next time I crave for pizza that I would try Rocky's pizza, and I am so glad that I did. I just ordered a large cheese pie (half with pepperoni and mushroom) for pick up. The pizza is really good. They use fresh ingredients, and the dough is not exactly thin crust, it resemble NY style pizza, where the dough is a little thicker (no where near the thickness of a sicilian). And the taste is awesome. I have found another pizza joint in Waterbury that really delivers the good stuff. The only thing that I wasn't too crazy about was the sweetness of the tomato sauce on the pizza. It wasn't sugary sweet like domino's ketchup/tomato paste. It just had wincy tiny extra kick of sweetness which didn't deter my liking of the pizza. The pizza is a little pricey but well worth the extra couple of dollars. read more

Hands down the best pizza I've ever had. The chicken bacon ranch is to DIE for. The delivery was also quick and easy.

I gave it 3 stars because I ordered a medium pizza with sausage and pepperoni and a large hot combo grinder and I asked for no tomatoes, no mayo and no cheese in my grinder. The person taking my order asked if I would like lettuce, onions, olives and hot sauce and I said yes. Then I paid with my credit card and I waited over an hour for my food to arrive at my location. When I got my food from the delivery man, The pizza is exactly what I ordered but the grinder is not. It was a cold combo served hot not a hot combo like I wanted. So I called for a second time and tell them what happened. The person answering the phone tells me that if I want a large hot combo grinder then I have to wait more than one hour again and I said yes. So I waited one more hour and no delivery man arrived. So I called for a third time and I tell them that I was waiting for my grinder for an hour and nothing has arrived. The person said sorry about that to me and said that they Will be making my large hot combo grinder right now. Then finally the delivery man arrived and I asked if the grinder that he's giving me is the hot combo and he said yes. Then I inspect my hot combo grinder and they put cheese on it and I can't have cheese because of my medical condition. So I called for the last time and told them about it and the person answering the phone tells me that they can give me a credit for the next time I order from them or they can refund my money back. So I said to them that I want the refund and the person answering the phone ask me if I paid with a credit card for the order and I said yes and they said that they are going to refund my money back for the grinder and then I said ok and then we said goodbye to each other and I hang up the phone and that was it. read more

Surprised to read not so great reviews on here. We've been frequenting Rocky's for almost 2 years now and haven't been disappointed yet. Perhaps the best part of the whole Rocky's experience is the owner himself. So sweet and truly possesses an old school work ethic as far as pleasing his customers goes. There have been times when we ate-in versus carrying out and he makes you feel like he's going above and beyond to accommodate you despite the small space they have. One of his sons also posses the same quality work ethic- friendly, welcoming and generally happy to be doing what he's doing- the other, however, is quite the opposite. I used to order from Rocky's when he was in Brooklyn.....a long time ago. I'm back in town from out of state and was craving a calzone so I took a trip over to Bunker Hill and was so glad to see they were still there. When I walked in and saw the kid standing there I knew he was related to Rocky, his son looks just like him! I told him I wanted a calzone like his father used to make and the kid did not disappoint, the smell in there was wonderful! The calzones were as big as I remembered, 2 can eat off of one and be quite satisfied! The food was just like I remembered.....absolutely delicious! They have the best pizza in town hands down and their buffalo chicken pizza is literally the best pizza I have had in my life. The ingredients are quality.
