To start, I'm a medic/first responder in a 911 service. My partner and I were on shift and wanted to grab a bite to eat. We ordered a couple of slices of pizza to go so just in case we get a 911 call we could be ready to go. However, we were posted in the area, so I figured "Why not just sit down and eat inside?" I even asked one of the servers if I could grab a table and sit and eat and she said yes. About 3/4 of the way through a slice of pizza, the same server came up to us and said that we have to leave because we ordered takeout and cannot eat in the restaurant. I was taken aback because we literally paid for our food, but also because the way she told us was kind of rude and was unexpected and really didn't have a good explanation for it; we felt like we were thrown out. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the pizza was pretty good. Maybe I missed something, but we were very respectful and got treated like garbage. I hope the owner/manager sees this so maybe an explanation can be given. read more

I came in for two slices and also to order a pie to go. The two slices from their premade case took over 20 minutes to arrive to my table. They tasted fine as expected. 20 minutes later the waitress brought me the check and said the to go would be ready in a "couple of minutes". Ten minutes later I walk up to the counter to ask how much longer they told me there was a mistake on the pie "it had a hole in it, so they were remaking it." I asked how long and was told 20 minutes. So for two slices of sit down pizza while waiting for a to go pie will now be over an hour. What upsets me is they didn't show me the courtesy of telling me of the situation. If I didn't bother to ask, who knows how long I would be waiting. I usually like their pizzas, but today I ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and received a metal staple inside the pizza. Luckily, I found it before eating it. Pizza is my favorite food, and Anthony's has some pretty good pizza! But what takes the cake is their giant garlic knots! Loaded with garlic and olive oil and paired with their amazing marinara sauce, they have become a family favorite! This visit I had a half cheese and half bacon pie which was cooked perfectly with minimal flop (pizza fans know what that means). We were a party of 7 and called ahead and we're assured we would have seating available. Inside is small so be mindful if you have a large party, there's really one big section/booth. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout our visit. Prices are average for a pizzeria but the options are endless. I recommend stopping in or ordering ahead and picking up if you're in the mood for some almost NY like pizza! read more

I dropped in to order 2 slices to go. The girl who took my order was friendly and said my slices would be ready in 5 minutes. I sat down and while waiting the cook's were chatting it up and another girl came up and sprayed cleaner in empty spaces of the display cabinet right above the pizza I had ordered. I approached the cashier and asked her to cancel my order as I was concerned about the spraying of chemicals near the pizzas. Still friendly she said she had to get a manager to do so. We usually always order take out from Anthony's and it's always great but for my birthday we decided to eat in at the restaurant and our waitress Sierra really made the entire meal a special one! Mediocre pizza and hoagies, absolutely terrible service. my father ordered ahead, and when we arrived we decided that we would just eat at the restaurant. it was a slow Thursday night and only two tables were occupied, but we were told that we could not eat in restaurant we had ordered by phone. I understand that policy on a busy Friday or Saturday night, but they literally had eight or nine tables open. Attempts to reason with them fell on deaf ears. From the cashier all the way to the manager, all they could say was "it's our policy". 3.5 stars A new pizzeria has opened in Deland. They have a Italian-American Brooklyn vibe. I order the chicken cacciatore. The sauce was excellent and flavorful. The chicken was served on angel hair pasta and surrounded by onions, peppers and mushrooms. Sadly, the chicken was rubbery and slightly burnt on the edges. I did like the pizza; it was thin and crispy. The service was okay. The waitress wasn't personable, although, I would blame it on the fact that they're still new. They had no garlic knots but could order cheesy garlic bread for $2 more than knots and like everyone else in there we did and it arrived to the table burnt on bottom. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and was told they were out of pep slices for the night but could order a medium for myself and take the rest homeand we did. We also ordered two sweet teas when we sat. So when the pizza arrives the server tells us there now out of sweet tea WTH is going on here? This place used to be great but has gone down hill the last several months. No A/C in the restaurant and awful service. Went to pick up 2 pizzas and garlic knots yesterday. The one star I give this place is based solely on the management and the wait staff. Although they have decent food their customer service needs a lot of work. The management at this establishment needs to go back and take some new management classes and learn how to speak to customers. As well as a class on how to handle mistakes THEY MAKE when it comes to customer orders. Poor management leads to poor staff. It's sad because I've been coming to this place for years and over the past year this place has gone downhill with their management and wait staff. Hopefully this place can turn themselves around and realize what's needs to be done. I love this place, I've been frequenting there Casselberry location for over 15 years, glad to see a location closer to home, I recommend the Sicilian slice, a side of meatballs and garlic bread! I tried to get her attention a few times especially since the fact that my pizza was burnt as you will see from the pictures I will post.
