I have mixed thoughts on Anthony's... I have been eating here since 1991 when we moved to our old place on 23rd & Ridgeland... I have always loved their slices (for $3 you can get COMPLETELY stuffed!)... On the other hand is their delivery service... It used to be freakin AMAZING just like their slices are still... But the last delivery pizza was horrible :( the crust wasn't fully cooked (it was still doughy in the center) there was hardly any cheese and VERY little sausage and so much sauce that when you took a bite the little cheese/sausage that WAS there came right off :( I am very disappointed in their delivered pizza now but I enjoy their slices in their location still... read more

Well I placed an order for delivery of a jumbo pizza on 2/6/18 and well let's say I'm very dissatisfied with the customer service of this establishment . The pizza was to be delivered within 45 minutes and well double the time an hour and a half later had passed . The pizza had finally arrived but was cold . I called the establishment and asked to speak with a manager , Ganessa (not sure if I spelled that right) offered to resend the pizza but was unsure of the delivery time because the orders were back up so we AGREED that I would use the credit on another date and I would reheat the pizza myself because well so to speak my family and I were extremely hungry .... So now let's skip to February 10th apx. around 5:30pm when I call to redeem what I was told on Feb 6th when I spoke to The boss (sorry guys he did not give me a name as usual with proper buisness etiquette) said it was unfair that they replace the pizza because we ate the other one ... It did not matter that another manager approved of this he wasn't going to honer the agreement between a consumer and manager made at an earlier date ... It did not matter that we had to reheat the pizza to eat it .... It did not matter that I had the name of the manager , the times , and explained that the 2nd delivery of the same pizza could have possibly taken as long and we were all hungry .... I explained my frustration in a calmy manner and I was told I could have the pizza for half off , I did not accept because it's not right to be told the error would be corrected and then later have such a problem and dispute with another member of management ... It's such a shame that Anthony's has such poor customer service and communication between the management . I would not recommend and will make sure to tell my friends and family in the Cicero / Berwyn area about this experience ... Be prepared to wait double the time for your pizza .... Cold pizza .... And not have the management team correct the problem unless you dont mind waiting double the time , or the manager in the future refusing to honer his co-workers agreement with the customer . I ordered a total of ten pizzas for our grade level end of year party. 8 of the ten pizzas were burnt, they sent the wrong pizzas, forgot toppings and the driver told the secretary to "hurry up" because he was busy. The sausage was in a few large pieces instead of smaller pieces throughout the pizza the cheese was different and it was undercooked. My boyfriend and I decided to get delivery. When my boyfriend placed an order, he started with the big slice of pizza that comes with a soda for $3.50 and the woman who answered the phone had an attitude. She was rude and rushing. He placed an order for a chicken dinner and a few appetizers and then she became more polite. The delivery man arrived 30 mins later and no complaints about him. They did forget our soda, but whatever. The pizza was burnt on the bottom and our chicken was pretty dry. Overall, I feel we could've gotten a lot more from another establishment for the same price. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. After being very loyal customers for many years, we just ordered a dinner and EVERYTHING but the "side" salad (included with a dish we didn't receive) was WRONG. After waiting on hold for a few minutes, I was told "it's not our fault" (the ticket had the order correct). I then went off, and FINALLY got a manager (after another 5 minutes on hold). I started ordering from Anthonys a couple years ago because I received money saving coupons in the mail. We usually got the thin crust pizza which is really good. We also have gotten the broasted chicken which puts the big chicken chains to shame. Last week we decided to try the stuffed pizza......DELICIOUS! The sausage was not huge chunks, almost crumbly, the sauce was so good and the crust was the best I've ever had on a stuffed pizza. I am hooked on this stuffed pizza now. Terrible organizational skills! I made an online purchase on 03/01/20. I paid and tip with my debit card online. When the delivery man arrived he informed me that I needed to pay cash because my online purchase did not go through. I immediately checked with my bank and the purchase did go through and they collected the funds for the purchase. I showed the delivery man my bank statement to show him the payment did go through and he left the food. 10 minutes later as I was setting up the table to enjoy my pizza I hear the doorbell ring, it was the delivery guy asking me to pay cash for my order because they informed him that the online payment did not go through. I assured him the payment did go through because the funds were taken out of my account and collected by Anthony's Pizza but he insisted I pay cash. I paid him cash and he drove off. I then checked my bank account again and again I confirmed the online payment did go through without any problems. I immediately called Anthony's Pizza and I informed the lady on the phone of the situation. She took my information and was able to confirm that the online payment did in fact go through. She dispatched the delivery driver back to my house to return the cash payment I gave him. Already having been bothered and upset with this whole situation that took about an hour to resolve. I get to my pizza and fried calamari I ordered. Of course all of it is all ready getting cold and to my surprise I got the wrong pizza!!!! I ordered and paid for a party size pepperoni pizza and I got a plain cheese pizza instead!!! This whole online purchase experience was a nightmare! How can they be so unorganized? I have been ordering from Anthony's for about 10 years now. In the last 6 months I had an incident where my pizza arrived with basically all of the toppings on the side of the box and a bare crust with sauce, when this incident happened I reached out to the establishment and never heard back. I then stopped ordering for a few months and time passed and I received a postcard in the mail and decided to order again. All seemed to be back to normal and then tonight happened. Tonight, once again, I received a pizza which was supposed to be half and half toppings, with all of the toppings on one side and in the box. I called to explain the situation and I was told to send the pizza back and that a new one would be delivered as soon as they could get it out. I didn't receive an apology for the trouble or anything of the sort. This upsets me because as I said, I've been ordering for about 10 years. I know that it may have been the drivers mistake and not the restaurant, but an establishment should properly train their delivery drivers to make sure that the product that is delivered is edible. I'm sorry to say that I will no longer be ordering from here again thanks to the "customer service" I was provided with when I called. Update: second pizza received an hour and a half after my phone call and it was burnt. Not to mention it's supposed to be pan pizza and not pull apart pizza. We order from here quite a bit. Love their crust (on the thin one) and they are generous with the toppings. They send you coupons in the mail, and have a frequent flier-type thing going on. It's usually about 45 minutes to get here, and if they screw up, they make it right. I've ordered a few times from here now and each time has been a bit of a disappointment. The thin crust pizza is mediocre and tastes cheap. On a Tuesday night it took an hour for delivery. The wings are not breaded, but are decent sized. The deep dish is good, but there is definitely better out there. Each time i've ordered the crust has not been crispy, but the cheese and topping were good. Overall, the prices are a bit cheaper than other places, but you're getting what you pay for. I placed an order through yelp. I thought I had left a tip on my card, turns out I did not. After going back to my wallet to find out I only had 3 dollars, I gave the delivery driver what I had. This was still a 15% tip. As I closed my door, a couple minutes later my doorbell rang. I guess I didn't move fast enough because a few seconds later, the delivery guy was calling me. He said, " you only gave me three dollars and I need more." I explained to him again, that is all I had. I hung up and he called me 3 more times after which I called the restaurant. I spoke to the manager who tried to clearly dismiss the fact his delivery driver was now harassing me. He tells me he doesn't know what I expect him to do. I asked for his information as well as the delivery driver to which he refused. I told him I would contact the police and write a review. He told me, "write the fucking review I don't fucking care." I've been ordering from here since I was a young girl. I cannot begin to put in words how disgusted and totally hurt I am about this situation transpired. It really is disturbing that someone who is apart of the management team would respond and act in such a manner. Anthony's is the place I go in Berwyn when I want a slice of pizza. It's not as big as Bacci's, but it's big and I like the sauce and their sausage better and it's only $2.75, which includes a can of pop. They also make an excellent stuffed pizza.
