I'm tempted to give Anthony's 5 stars just because they serve a giant slice of pizza and a pop for $2.75! Although the pizza is pretty good, I wouldn't say its my favorite or its the best, but thats pretty tough to decide when you live near Chicago. I will get a lot of flack from friends that read this, but I like Anthony's pizza better than Freddy's. No doubt Freddy's has a lot to offer, but I just like Anthony's pizza more! Also, in fairness to Anthony's I haven't eaten anything but their pizza. Tony, Tony, Tony... Is it okay if I call you Tony? You made a last minute decision to take a chance on an unknown pizza joint so very worth my while. I ordered a small sausage and giardiniera pie, and a short 45 minutes later, ta-da! Ordering via phone is quick, precise, completely respectable. They always confirm before charging a credit card, just in case you have a coupon. A nice touch. The giardiniera wasn't too spicy or oily, but just the right amount of tang. Sausage was a bit large, but that's okay by me! The crust is unique. It reminds me a bit of a biscuit, in that it doesn't get chewey or soggy. Good as leftovers, too. read more

Hence, I order here at least once a week, I buy the huge slice of pizza and a soda for $3 when I walk in. I'm basically basing this rating on the customer service skills that the phone person has. I recently moved to Berwyn and been ordering from here ever since. Long story short, the girl needs to get retrained or demoted to a position where he doesn't need to interact with any real person at all. Possibly the bathroom cleaner (off hours only) or night restock person. I just say this because there hasn't been not one time that where when you speak to any of them that makes you ever wanna go in and dine there any time soon. We ordered a thin crust pizza. The flavor was good but most of the cheese was in the middle and the ingredients was uneven throughout the pizza. The pizza looked liked someone did not take the time and effort to make a pizza the correct way. This could be a good pizza if they had some pride. I was disappointed. I've to ordered food from here for ten years or so and never had a problem with the cost or quality but, tonight I will never order from here again! I phoned an order of two cheesy beefs, one with Giardiniera, what did I get, pickled Jalapenos. I called to complain and was told that, that is "their Giardiniera". Giardiniera is Giardiniera not someone's version of Giardiniera, especially if it's pickled Jalapeno's! What pissed me off the most is that Anthony himself basically called me a liar. You get a HUGE slice of pizza and an RC for only $3.00!!! Pizza is AMAZING and they have great customer service. Always willing to go above and beyond for their customers. They have an extensive menu that includes, pizza, pasta, seafood, Italian beef, sandwiches etc.! They deliver extremely fast and my pizza is always so HOT, like they just pulled it out of the oven. I hope people avoid this place in protest. About every 2 weeks I have to pull a flyer off my doorknob from Anthony's with holding a car seat and the hand of a two year old. There is nothing more annoying than having someone rubber band a flyer on your door knob when your mail box is 2 feet away. I called and talked to the manager (it might have been Anthony) a few times over several years to no avail about this and I'm fed up! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Look I'm the first to admit I'm pretty biased when it comes to pizza, whenever I want to order pizza that hits the spot every time, I call Paisans Pizzeria on Ogden. But it's late at night (or morning) however you see it 12:47 am. Paisans was closed and Anthony is on the cheaper side but sacrifice taste and quality for the price. I took a chance tonight and I am very disappointed I placed an order for a pizza with wings, I was told it would arrive in 40 mins (actually took over an hour) and when I called to check up on the status of the delivery and I was told no order was made. I spoke to a lady and she said she'd give me a coupon for $5 off and they would deliver it as soon as possible 5 mins after I called the delivery guy shows up and rings my doorbell when I specifically mentioned not to ring the door bell. I go inside pretty upset from that I go into my kitchen to open up my pizza and it came at room temperature very disappointed I called back to cancel the other order and whoever it was that answered was terrible at resolving problems and when I gave her my feedback when she asked if I was satisfied and I said I wasn't and id probably never order from here again she said ok obviously not caring enough T accommodate the customer for the troubles so I will definitely stick to Paisans or at least not order from here mediocre food at best terrible service but if you're hungry and only got a bit of cash it's okay i guess but I recommend Paisans I hope the owner of Anthony sees this and tries to talk to his employees. I've been ordering Anthony's pizza for many years, and continue to. I usually stick with the sausage and cheese, safe and easy. I recently ordered my favorite with sausage, green olives, onions, mushrooms on 1/2, etc.... It turned out perfectly, and have since recreated the order 4 times. Each time equally excellent! Let me just start off by saying I like Anthony's and go there frequently. Today I tought I would order just a large cheese pizza. I thought maybe in 20 min it would come like normal. Well, I waited for about 40 min then I called just to make sure the order had gone through. I was put on hold for a bit then I was told it was on route...ok no biggie they were obviously busy. Anyways maybe 15 min later I get a call from the driver saying that he arrived, but it was somehow my old adress from 2 years ago (2 blocks away)..... so in total It arrived exactly an hour later (I know bc my email says when it was ordered). I'm just a bit upset that the pizza arrived cold, and as much as I love Anthony's you can't really eat it cold it get's too dry and hard. but then lol...I realized there was a bandage on the side of the pizza box, Maybe it was one of the kitchen guys or idk but that was kinda gross, I don't think it whent all the way in there but they should just keep an eye on stuff like that. I'm in the service/food industry as well and I understand things happen so I'm not going to cry over a pizza lol, just would like them to maybe work on things a bit because I do like going there. When they answered the first time they veryfied where the pizza was going, but then the driver showed me the ticket and it had my old adress. This junk pizza place has been plastering our neighborhood with flyers for over a decade. Two or three flyers at a time. When I call to tell them about the triplicates, the owner/manager refuses to tell his name and instead blurts bad Italian and proceeds to insult me. Needless to say, I would not trust such a person with food. He probably laughs at the garbage he feeds people behind their backs. Obviously, clients do not stay, otherwise he would not need to litter our yards with his flyers over so many years. This is the kind of business that gives a bad reputation to Berwyn. read more

I'm not saying it's the world's greatest pizza but it is pretty amazing I only know one person who doesn't like pizza, my sister and we've found that they cater to her needs too. She will usually just order chicken tenders, or if available nuggets from most pizza places but alot of places do have that available so it's not that major my family loves how they don't put so much sauce that it's dripping off the side or even enough to make the cheese and topping slide off. Alot of people do like that but here, we prefer it with less because then there's too much... Tomato. But with the sauce they do put, it doesn't taste like other pizzerias. I used to go here all the time for slices. Their slices are really good, they only cost $3 bucks, are always hot and fresh, and SUPER JUMBO!!! The service there is good, if you get one of the guys, but the girls there have really bad attitudes!!! I like the owner too, I've talked with him a few times, he is a very interesting person, and I see him there a lot. Lately I have been ordering for delivery. Anthony's is still a really good value for delivery. They have a 16 inch pizza with pop for $15. For the size of the pizza, their generous toppings, and of course the taste, its about the best deal you will find, delivered to your door for that price. I also like their calamari, a good value for $8, I used to get the linguine with calamari, but three times in a row, they sent it with clams instead of calamari, but I liked that they were nice about remaking it and sending it to me quickly everytime. Delivery is always fast. They say 45 minutes on the phone, but we've gotten it in less than 30 most of the times. The only problem with having pizza delivered is the drivers. I think it really depends on which driver you get. Most of them are ok, but we've had problems with a few. Theres an old guy with a red hat that is always grumpy and has told us he would purposely take longer next time if we didn't give him a tip. There's another guy that comes in a really loud old car, he's creepy, his hands are always dirty and he smells like gasoline, and he flipped out one time swearing in front of my kids. I also don't like the Mexican guy that is always trying to sell us extra rc and old food, he dropped our pizza and once, and was really rude and told us there was nothing he could do, told us to call, and still had the nerve to say we owed him a tip, and told the manager we dropped the pizza. read more

Been ordering for almost 15 years..but ovr the last year, this place has jus turned to shit. Young teenage girls take the phone orders who are rude, pushy and can't even put ur order in the computer correctly. Called to complain a few times, and a phone girl who told me that she WAS THE MANAGER...told me that IT WASNT HER PROBLEM THAT IT TOOK MY FOOD ALMOST AN HOUR AND A HALF TO GET THERE...AND WASNT HER FAULT MY FOOD WAS COLD... Tried to order again 3 days later...on Oct, 3,13 and this time it took an HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES..the driver got lost because he did not know where he was going and instead of tElling his driver to stop and get directions, the owner calls me to ask me where it is.. I am not a GPS...finally got the food, just to open it and find that it had spilled everywhere..called and the owner, just giggled. read more

So, we have been ordering from Anthony's for a really long time. The food has always been good, and I have never had reason to complain about the service. Tonight we ordered a pizza, wings, and baked clams. Our food arrived when promised, so far so good, then we ate. The pizza and wings were good, but there was seriously something wrong with the clams. My husband and I each ate one, and I had to spit it out. The clam tasted very fishy and had a strong smell, my husbands was the same. I order baked clams all of the time, and have ordered them from Anthony's for years without a problem , so I know these were not right. Given my years of good food and service, I would not be writing this review had it not been for there terrible reaction when I called. I would have liked to have gotten my money back, since we threw away 10 of the clams, but that was really not why I called. I thought they should be told, so that no one gets sick. The man who answered the phone ( I did not get a name), told me that it was impossible that the clams were bad since they were frozen. I don't know, seems they could have been bad before frozen, or left out. Instead of apologizing, he made excuses and made me feel stupid. He asked if I would like them to make me another order. OF COURSE NOT, THEY ARE BAD!! There was an awkward silence, and then I hung up. I am so disappointed, we will not be back. I really hope that no one, including us, gets sick. :( read more

I ordered pizza for pick up from here by accident instead of Michael Anthony's on Ogden. Since I already ordered, I did not want to cancel, so figured what the hell, let's give this place a shot. The person that answered the phone was friendly as was the person behind the counter when I went to pick up my pizza. However, the pizza was really bad. Worse than a frozen grocery store pizza, cheese did not even stick to dough and really not a lot of pepperoni. I've noticed that the owner of this joint Anthony C comments on the negative reviews but his comments are NEVER helpful to the consumer. People have complained about quality going down and he just wants the consumer to give them another shot. In Reyna G's review she received a burned pizza, REALLY burned and she even posted photos of the burned pizza, charred....what does Anthony C respond with? An apology and give us another try. Hey Anthony, how about you refund her money? Give her some gift certificates to your restaurant and try to get the pizza right. The owner Anthony C HAS ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS!!! I've have mixed feelings about this place. I am giving it a 4-star due to the happiness that I have gotten from my experience recently. I've ordered delivery a couple of times from Anthony's Pizza as of late. The first time, my fiance' ordered the broasted chicken family meal (which came with broasted potatoes, corn bread, and cole slaw. The broasted chicken was good!). According to her, the young lady on the phone was nice. Can't complain. Today, I ordered a small stuffed crust pizza with sausage and jalapenos (these jalapenos were the ones that you get fresh from the Mexican tienda (store). Man was the pizza great! I also ordered the stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushrooms were sauteed in wine, butter, garlic and bread crumbs. Tasty. However, since I ordered delivery, the stuffed mushrooms were a bit soggy. Will not order unless it is dine-in. The young lady on the phone was very nice and respectful. I've read recently that the customer service sucks here. I did pay Anthony's a visit last year to dine-in. It was busy. Guys back there were busy and running around trying to get the orders fast. It looks like they were flustered, and so was the guy taking my order. The guy was kinda rude himself. Not acceptable. Maybe they switch around their people taking the orders several times throughout each shift? Maybe their rudeness depends on the time, date, weather? Not sure what's going on. The consensus states that their service sucks, than more than likely it is true, and they should take care of that pronto. I stated, I haven't received any bad service from them lately. So perhaps they have read their reviews and changed it up a bit. I don't want to say tread softly when you come to this place, but, give this place a chance. You never know. I just had, well I didn't really eat it, the worst lasagna I've ever seen or tasted in my life. I also find the phone people just not happy at all. When I got my lasagna something didn't look right. It was narrow narrow piece maybe about an inch and a half tops and on each side was cheese melted on top of sauce. Like they were trying fool me. The Lasagna was horrible. one bite is all I could handle. Pasta was tough hard rubbery bad. I love to cook as a hobby so my cooking sensibilties have been offended.
