I have a vintage Prada purse that had been damaged by something that had been leaked onto it and damaged the beautiful leather. He told me the purse damage would not match the rest of purse and asked permission to make the whole purse the same color, and I said yes as this is very old. I was floored when I picked it up. It is beautiful. The only thing he couldn't fix was a small line on the front because it penetrated the beautiful leather. read more

I had gone here quite a few times over the years. I always thought his prices were high, especially for simple work. But it was conveniently located. I was never blown away by customer service or craftsmanship. I'll never go there again. Last time I went to pick up my shoes, he was arguing with a customer on the phone. Apparently she was trying to get shoes dyed for a wedding. He was so rude and crass to her. Then he hung up and said, "pendeja!" quite loudly. I'm sure he assumed that white suburban ladies don't understand any Spanish, but I sure do. I gave a look with my eyebrows raised, and he immediately stammered and said, "she's crazy". I brought in my pair of Ferragamo Loafers from 2011 that had a very worn out rubber sole. I decided to get them resoled/reheeled and this time with a leather sole. Anthony's shoe repair is the BEST shoe repair shop I've been to in a long time! I took three pair of shoes to Anthony and right away he told me an estimate and what he would need to do in order to repair my shoes. I had one pair of coach shoes that he completed had to replace the entire bottom of the shoe. Anthony was adamant about preserving the integrity of the shoe to look as the original shoe did when purchased! When I picked up my shoes they looked brand new! Anthony and his team worked quickly to repair the shoes I bought to them and he even exceeded my expectations of the repair and service I requested for repair! His team went above and beyond to ensure my shoes were top of the line and the pricing to fix the shoes was reasonable compared to the work completed. Horrible! Ruined my rare vintage leather and suede designer handbag!!! I brought in 2 vintage leather designer purses for small repairs. They got glue all over the suede sections. Then the owner tried to say it was just the design of the suede or dirty spots. The purse had no dirty spots on the suede when I brought it in. They have ruined this bag! I'm so upset! This purse was a rare vintage designer handbag. This was an easy repair. I'll never return! I'm so upset! They literally offered to do nothing to fix it. Horrible place! read more

They did an amazing job widening my new Proenza Schouler boots. They are much easier to get on and off thanks to the ingenious way of positioning the elastic without ruining the look of the boots. It is good to have a shoe repair person in our area. The old place we used in the past had closed so we tried this place, Anthony's in downtown LaGrange, just across from the tracks. My wife took two pair of heels here for repairs and they turned out awesome and at a good price too. Can't believe I didn't review Antony's Shoe Repair 5 years ago! Mea Culpa! Tony has repaired & re-soled all of our family's shoes and boots, and my purses. Not once has he failed us . Now, this latest job was more tricky... I found a Tumi laptop bag for my husband at Goodwill for "peanuts" a couple of years ago. Recently it was showing wear from daily use on his commute by train. The seams at the corners along the bottom of the bag were fraying on the outside. We did not know exactly how it could be repaired but were prepared to pay for utility. Well, we got a beautiful result! Tony repaired the fraying corners by placing a well chosen strip of leather that very closely matched the Tumi leather around the seams along the bottom of the bag. making it appear as if it were designed that way originally!
