I bought a lovely pastoral dress at this location about a year ago. I felt like Marie Antoinette on the farm, because it was peasant cut and a silk blend. I bought my favorite throw pillow here. I am far from a throw pillow enthusiast, but the Rayna pillow I adored. The pot holder I have from Anthro... I must remember to upload pics of all like 3 things I own... Anyway... It's closed now. Well, it moved to west county. And that bums me out because this location looked good and has better deals (so far). I went to the new location yesterday and not one worker greeted me. I was there for 20 minutes and not one hello or how can I help you.

So I ordered a simple coffee mug and it was supposed to be delivered on May 18. I contact them and now it's not being delivered until May 28! Too late! It's a birthday present. DON'T TRUST THIS SITE TO GET YOUR ITEM TO YOU promptly!!! Never again will I order from this company. read more

Unfortunately, not the best experience. The clothes are amazing but when you ask a simple question when checking out or returning something, it's like your inconveniencing them. I had returned an item and asked if the shipping usually is long and she said well with the weather issues we've been having they are. Unfortunately, I didn't Place my order during that timeframe. It took me a lot longer to receive my order than usual but she could care less and didn't feel like answering my question and acted like I was putting her out. At this particular store I feel like they are very stuck up. Just unfortunate. I guess I'll keep ordering online. read more

I love Anthropologie and this is the only location I have ever been to. I am always greeted upon entry which is nice and never have trouble obtaining assistance and honest opionions when I'm trying on dresses or looking for options. The staff is GREAT!!!! They also assist with locating items on-line for me. Yes, this store is expensive!!!! I find some of the items to be worth their price. The dressing rooms are like going and chilling in your rich friends walk-in closet that houses couches. I mean when I'm here with my friend and waiting for her to try on an item, they couch is soo comfy and chill, it's great. Another good thing is when the BF is with me, he can just take a seat on one of the few couches located inside the store and wait for me comfortably. I love the aroma of scents burning in the store and the way the displays are set. My new favorite area is the home section. I feel like I'm in a trendy New York kitchen hanging out. I love the cook books in the store. They are unique, I've never seen the likes other places. They offer various trendy plates, kitchen utensils, bed linens, blankets, books for reading leisurely, note books, planners, candles, perfumes which are like no other, worth checking out and much more. And like most stores, everything is hit-or-miss, so you want to drop in occassionally to see what's going on. This is the first place I think to come when looking for a certain dress, whether it is date night, special occassion or casual. The employees are usually rocking their clothes and can give you good sense of size, the downside is it may not be in the store but again they'll search on-line for you. I finally went in here and BOUGHT something after years of just admiring their window displays from the outside.... they are located next to the cheesecake factory in the STL galleria, for those who might not be from here or live here and are wanting to locate it quickly. The prices are expensive. Yes. I felt that needed to be said. But don't let that discourage you because they have an awesome sale section. It's pretty effing huge. The only downside is that I almost never find anything I want in the sale rack. I'd made a trip in here a couple of times with my roommate but never bought anything, just browsed the sale section. I really REALLY love the customer service. When I tried on my dress, they wrote my name in erasable ink on a little oval mirror/plaque outside of my dressing room and they referred to me by my name the whole time. It was a little unusual at first because I am not used to being called by my name while trying on clothes by people I don't know, but I think that's what's so great about it. No other store (that I know of) does it, at least not in the US. Finally, I decided to buy my first item there and they gave me a card to fill out that allows for easier returns and I think on your birthday you get some kind of discount... (?) And all the while I was talking to the woman at the register about how to coordinate the dress and she said for me to come back sometime soon so they can see my outfit. :) The only other place where I've been told that was at a Japanese brand store in Sapporo when I was living over there. I like it when employees show interest in their customers' coordinates. :D Finally, I must mention the quality....it's pretty darn good! The dress I got is very soft but also thick and very well tailored. The tag says made in China, yes, but it's still very well constructed. Don't let it bother you! I've ordered garments custom made from select factories in China and they have all done stellar work. (TaoBao, for anyone who is wondering.) Also Anthropologie carries a pretty wide variety of "brands" in the store so there's usually something for everyone. I don't see many 20-something-year-olds shopping in here. It's a shame. Their quality is far better than stores like Hollister and the customer service is great too. I get that the prices can be a bit much but if you restrict yourself to sale areas you can get stuff for $20!!!! Also I must say the comment on here about the store having a smaller selection than the website is kind of out of date....because the store is HUGE and there is by far WAY more stuff in the store than on the website! read more

I have to admit, I am an Anthropologie junkie. They have such a variety of beautiful clothing, shoes, bags, and home goods. I do feel like you have to be selective, though, about what you buy, which is why the store is better than online. They have so many designers/brands now and so sizing is not the same across the store and quality, in my opinion, varies, too. It's nice seeing some more affordable options in the store, but I like to make sure the quality is high since nothing is really cheap or inexpensive. I haven't had really amazing service in the store, but I guess they don't really need it, since the merchandise lures people in on its own. I like the sale rack and have had luck finding dresses on sale. I will tell you, I went to the store in Memphis (new store) and thought they had better selection than in St. Louis, but it may have been because they had just opened. I will continue to shop at this St. Louis location. read more

Anthro + me = hearts and smiley faces I love Anthropologie for all of its quirkiness. Which other chain store offers such unique, quality items at somewhat affordable prices? I must admit that I am mostly a sale shopper, but what I love about Anthro is that they offer a "wish list" service on their website. So I create a wish list and simply watch for my coveted items to go on sale. Then I pop on over to the Galleria to try them on. Often I have found an item that is sold-out online in at the Galleria Anthro. Also, their customer service is second to none. Even for sale items they will do a search of other stores for you and I have never had them come up empty-handed. And they will ship the item directly to your house. The home decorating items are nothing short of lovely. Okay, so I can't affort the furniture (even on sale!!!) but that isn't Anthro's fault, it is mine for not choosing a more lucrative career. I love my bronze toucan watering can, my measuring cups shaped and painted like flowers, my monogrammed coffee mug, I could go on and on! Anthropologie's return policy is another reason why brick and mortar retailers are failing. I received a gift and wanted to return it. It had the tags on it and I had the original receipt. They would only offer store credit because I didn't have my husband's credit card. Seriously? That is a ridiculous policy in this day and age. Now one of us has to make a separate trip back to the mall, and we hate the mall anyway. Why would anyone buy a gift here with that totally inconvenient policy? I won't shop Anthro again, online or in person. I will continue to shop smaller local stores. Sorry to be petty but again, this is just bad customer service. read more

For years, I was afraid of Anthropologie. It just looked like a place that only catered to the long and lean, of which I am neither. And, I was afraid of the price tags as well, as they are skewed to the somewhat high and higher. However, I've made the shop a part of seasonal routine---I venture in during spring and fall and have found that one in three times I find something that seems worth the premium. I don't fear that I'll see something from my wardrobe looking better on someone else at work, at bookclub, or somewhere out and about. I do have to try on many things before I find something that works, but the items I have, I love. This year, I did a bit of Christmas shopping as well--cute books, nice accessories, and lotions will be under the tree for my loved ones this year. read more

As far as Anthro stores typically go, this one is huge. There's a home section as well as a large clothing section, and they have a great little sale room hidden in the back for those who prefer to pick from more modestly priced pieces. Yes, it's all terribly expensive, and sometimes I question whether or not it's worth it. When it comes to the clothing, it's a toss up. If you have an eye for quality, however, you can find it here without looking too hard. As always, their home goods are right on point, and the selection in this particular store is quite large. It's a great place to go whether you're looking for new hardware to spruce up an old piece of furniture, some new servingware, or what have you. They have very eye-catching pieces that you're unlikely to find elsewhere. read more

Some of staff at this store are not welcoming. They make you feel like you don't belong there. Body language and facial expressions never lie. If there were another store in Missouri, I probably wouldn't go back. I went to return an item I'd bought online and the person never looked at me and made very little conversation. I asked her if everything was ok. I went in to say that she had bad energy. If it keeps happening, I'm going to make a complaint with the regional manager. read more

Unfortunate experience at this store. The store looks like any other anthro store. Anne was nice in dressing room. House wares department was a mess! The manager (who's name I can't remember), was not helpful at all. The bottom line, I had issues using a coupon. I live in a remote area, not near Anthro, so I saved the coupon for my visit to a town that had a store. I was about to spend several hundred dollars. I had my birthday coupon. The manager said that the birthday coupon expired a few months before (for 15%) and cannot be used now. I was at prior stores that said you can use it for the entire year (just save it and use the barcode). It's 15%. It's not coming out of her pocket. It's not that much, but could make a big difference for several hundred dollars. People give discounts all the time at other stores for pretty much no reason at all (especially when there is a coupon discrepancy). I put mostly everything back because 1. she was so rude about it and not helpful and 2. I was going to spend my money in another store that sells the EXACT same stuff that gives coupons (i.e. Macys, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor). I emailed the people at Anthro and they said the manager should have honored the birthday coupon - given the entire experience - and they promptly gave me a coupon for the interaction I had with her. Just bad customer service. Will NOT be going back and telling others to stay away. Will just order online. read more

When i lived in Connecticut this was my favorite store! Now its moved to st louis and im ecstatic! I go here everytime i go shopping! Love love LOVE!! Slowly i am building my anthropologie heaven when things go on sale. You have to go there during the big sales during thanksgiving and after christmas to hit their major markdowns. My whole cupboard is anthro now, thanks to the 1.95 plates and 3.00 mugs! Never have i bought anything from here full price. Trust me, it will always get marked down! So just be patient! read more

I am anthro junkie. Half my wardrobe is from anthropologie. This particular location, however, has little excitement. The sale section looks like someone's attic threw up. It's all ugly forgotten about clothing that no one would ever wear. The regular priced clothing is okay. There are two or three of each size and no extras in the back. The housewares are cute but older styles. The selection online is much nicer!! read more

This a cool store ... and as I found out afterwards, but really it was apparent, it was a women's clothing store. It really has much more than that ... cool dishes, unique candles and book and other misc stuff. I can't really comment on the "women" part of this store but I was drawn in by the decor and the life size paper mache horse by the register. I just happened to be in the Galleria to kill some time and thought why not, plus I picked a cookbook on natural food since I am trying to fit more of it into my eating. Worth a walk through ... check was a bit slow but that could have just been the transactions in front of me. read more

We only have one of these in St. Louis, and I was super excited about getting one until I actually saw it. I was far more impressed by the selection on their website than in the store, which is pretty small. They don't sell shoes here like they do on the site and even the sales are pricey. The stuff doesn't look as high quality in person than it does online either. Truly a disappointment to Anthropologie fans. read more
