A few months late, but I truly cannot say enough good things about this Anthropologie Weddings location! (Spoiler: I got my wedding dress here!) It took me several visits to pick my dress, and I so appreciated the patience, encouragement, and responsiveness (via email and phone call) of everyone who works here. When I first started dress shopping, I honestly didn't really know what I wanted, so I scheduled an appointment to try on _everything_ that appealed (recommend going on a weekday to do this as it's less busy!). Emma was so, so patient with me, listening to what I liked and didn't, and making suggestions. I left that appointment with a much better sense of what I was going for, and really appreciated the follow up email with details about my top picks, sizing, and warnings about any styles that are back-ordered or low stock. I returned later with a much better sense of my taste and was able to narrow down to two dresses, but still wasn't ready to make a call. Then, went back *again* a few days later to try on my top pick again (with accessories!!) and say yes to the dress! Generally, their selection is great-- especially of Jenny Yoo dresses which I was most interested in. They also have many options that are lower prices than other high end boutiques in the area. I've known I wanted to shop for a dress at Anthropologie for over a decade, ever since I walked into one as a teenager and fell in love with the dresses hanging up around the space. Sarah was our bridal stylist and she was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and attentive, she really made me feel special and made sure to check in with me and figure out exactly what I liked and didn't. We tried in seven dresses total, and I ended up trying two again, all within the hour-long session. I honestly had no expectations coming in, I thought I'd try a few on and then come back for a second appointment. But I'm so excited to say I found the perfect dress for my elopement. The one I chose ended up around $1300, which was a great price for how gorgeous and well made the dress is. We bought before we left and it was back ordered, so I should get it in a few weeks! Although I did not purchase from Anthro, I had a wonderful experience at my bridal appointment back in November 2023. I love that the website lists the gowns they have at each location so you can browse beforehand and go in with a shortlist. My stylist was very helpful, supportive, and informative throughout the process. I love that many of their gown are ready to ship so you don't have to wait 3 months compared to buying from a traditional boutique. Their dresses are also priced on the lower side (1k to 2k) which is another plus. I wanted to find a place with in-house alterations and more mikado dresses, which was why I ultimately purchased elsewhere, but I credit my experience at Anthro for helping better refine what I wanted. read more

The first time my stylist greeted me, it was with negativity regarding my lack of pre-selected dresses. She did not provide recommendations to try on nor did she make this feel like a special experience. I was handed dresses to put on myself and was not offered any help getting into the dresses. During the middle of my appointment, my dressing room was suddenly unavailable due to a service employee changing air filters. After 25 minutes, I had tried on 4 dresses and got the impression that I was being forced out because I did not love the dresses I had opted to try on. At this time she did not offer any other style recommendations and wished me a good day. After loving Anthropologie for years I have never been so disappointed in a service or company. What should have been a fun 90 minute experience with my mom and sister had quickly turned into a disappointment filled with regret for even booking a bridal fitting. read more

Visited the store with my fiancé to pick out a wedding dress after several frustrating encounters at other local bridal stores wanting 5 to 6 months lead time to order a dress. Walked in and had an amazing one hour session looking at different dresses, she picked out a dress and ordered it, and it arrived at our apartment five days later! Could not speak more highly of Nylah or the BHLDN team. I scheduled a special appointment to show my grandparents my dress, which I'd already bought, because they may not be able to come to my wedding across the country next year. I had mostly a very positive experience buying my wedding dress here in January. Luckily I wasn't looking for a super luxurious experience, because you won't find that here. In the process to make an appointment, they have you list several dresses you're interested in trying on, but I'm not sure what the point of that was as when we arrived they didn't have that information on hand. After walking around and picking out the dresses I liked, we had to wait for about 45 minutes before I could go to the dressing room (still unsure why). Then, they gave my friends and I cans of champagne as I tried on dresses (we luckily brought our own bottle). The dressing rooms made me a little nervous as they are just curtains and I felt like people could see through the gaps on the sides. Lastly, on their website they advertise a plus size selection. I am a size 14-16 and was only given their smaller sized dresses, which would have been fine with me if they had a better system for fitting bigger girls into smaller dresses. I've heard of so many methods people use to make a smaller dress look right when you try it on but they just did not do that. What a wonderful experience! BHLDN is a gem located in anthropologie. It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and Gabriella, my stylist, was amazing at explaining the different styles and making recommendations. I didn't find my dress yet, but I did leave with two potentials to come back to. Their prices are reasonable and if your size is in stock you'll have your dress in a week! I would definitely recommend for any bride looking for dresses to give BHLDN a try. read more

At face the BHLDN experience is a little lackluster - you make an online appointment a few weeks ahead of time, recieve a very generic email reminder, show up with a friend or two en-tow and then try on some dresses in an upstairs dressing space while one or two other ladies do the same (you each have your own mirror to check out your dress in but I kept walking through another woman's appointment in way that felt kind of intrustive). There also only seem to be one of each dress so if one you were looking for was taken by someone who already started your appointment you're out of luck. I had made a few comments on my appointment form about what I was interested but nothing was waiting for me to try on, I pulled them all off the rack at the start of the appointment with my consultant. HOWEVER, BHLD is an amazing place for anyone on a budget or a timeline and these perks make up for anything the dressing room experience may lack. It has a wide dress selection that changes frequently by season. All the dresses are available online to view ahead of time (and read reviews of!) so you know exactly what you may be looking for and it's price. The dresses seem to mostly hover in the $800+ range but I tried on a lovely one at only $260. Prices seem to top out around $2,500. Anthropologie does not do tailoring/alterations but does have a recommendation list. All the dresses are already produced, so unlike the traditional salon where the dress is made to order you can have your gown 5-7 days after ordering. And that fact is amazing enough to make BLHDN a must-vist stop for anyone in the market for a wedding gown. Gowns are available to view on the 2nd floor of the building, though to try them on your need to make an advance online appointment. There is a (relatively) private third floor just for dress fittings. read more

BHLDN is in the basement of the Anthropologie in Georgetown. I went there with my bridesmaids to look at dress options and thought it was much better than the other shops in the area. Most shops offer samples to try on and want to clip you into every dress, but it's really challenging to see how a dress looks and feels, and then you have to guess the size and hope a tailor can make it look right. BHLDN has lots of options to try on, and it's a relaxed shopping environment. read more

I had an initial appointment six months out from my wedding. From then, I ordered three options over the next few months to try at home. Ordering through Georgetown BHLDN, I was able to get help with sizing and free, fast shipping. It was ridiculously easy to try on dresses without having to travel the hour to Georgetown each time. I had a final appointment in-store literally four weeks from my wedding date. As stressed as I should have been, I just couldn't be, because I knew I wanted a BHLDN gown, and I knew I would have the time and space to find it in Georgetown. I absolutely loved my wedding dress shopping experience thanks to BHLDN Georgetown! I was absolutely in love with the Cecily Gown (which at the time was on final sale) and I desperately wanted to be able to try it on and see it in person instead of taking a risk & ordering it online (final sale dresses are not returnable). I was able to make an appointment for a fitting 24 hours before going in. I went to BHLDN with my mom on my lunch break (thank goodness I worked in DC and was so close by!) and Calla, our sales associate, was so sweet! Of course I tried on the Cecily Gown first (AND FELL IN LOVE!!), but I also tried on other dresses as well. Calla quickly figured out my style and brought me more dresses I hadn't noticed before to try on too. I knew the Cecily Gown was "the one" and after purchasing, my mom and I were allowed to relax in the store for a bit longer and enjoy some complimentary champagne. I don't know what BHLDN is like on a weekend, but I can say that shopping on a weekday was amazing. It was like a personal, private shopping experience (I should add this was pre-COVID pandemic). Additionally, months later, when I decided it was time to purchase a veil, I e-mailed BHLDN Georgetown and asked if they had a veil in stock that I tried on at my fitting. Unfortunately that veil was no longer available but Lauren recommended the Scalloped Fingertip Veil which was very similar. She even gave me a free shipping code for it! I felt like an absolute princess on my wedding day in the Cecily Gown and Scalloped Fingertip Veil and I can't thank BHLDN Georgetown enough for their help! I love BHLDN wedding dresses and they are so much more affordable compared to other bridal salons. Two of my friends found their wedding dresses at BHLDN, and they both had the best experience. Even though I wasn't sure if their dresses were my style, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience at this shop. My consultant was awkward and unhelpful. This place left such a bad taste in our mouth. Nothing but perfect things to say about this place. I came here and had an appointment with Meg (a literal angel), and came in search of an outfit change for my wedding in March to party in. I didn't want to spend too much, and wanted something unique. She was so helpful and creative and I ended up finding a really cute white jumpsuit. With tax, it came out to just under $300 and I'm so pleased with what I got. I wish I had came here for my first dress too it was THAT good of an experience. They don't have an on site tailor, but usually it's more advantageous to take your dress to another place (for my first dress I got it at a sample sale and took it to a tailor I trusted) anyway. I highly recommend coming here- it's on the top level of Anthropologie, and Meg took my measurements to make sure I was getting the right size. If they don't have your size in store, they'll order it for you and get it shipped to you for free and you get a free shipping label in case you need to return. Thanks Meg and all the fabulous friends at BHLDN. I appreciate all of you! Come here for your wedding dress, bridesmaids/any formal event. You won't be disappointed. There is some 2 hour street parking, but I recommend going to the colonial parking garage so you won't feel rushed to move the car, more expensive to park in the garage but it gave me great piece of mind while shopping.
