Tanez did an incredible job with my wedding alterations. In addition to having the dress hemmed and taken in to fit me, they made the mesh part of my top less see through and added beading and added snaps to secure the top and bottom of my dress (I bought separates). They added pearl beading from my moms wedding dress to the top of mine and did an absolutely beautiful job. Pricing was fair and much less than other bridal shops I received quotes from for the same work. The studio is super clean and it's typically just you and maybe one other client in there at a time, so you always have their full attention. I bought a dress online that fit perfectly except it was way too low cut. I went into Nazemi Bridal asking that she take from the bottom of the hem and add a sheer layer across the chest. But after doing a sample I didn't like the way it looked and thought I was doomed. But with Nazemi's quick and creative thinking, she was able to take from the bottom of the dress and mimic the same pattern as the arm loops and bring up the cut to where it wasn't low cut anymore. I purchased my wedding dress from a vendor in Georgetown and received a list of vendors that they recommended for alterations for my wedding dress. I called each of the vendors to get an estimate of what my dress alterations would cost, half of the vendors were unresponsive and the other half were unhelpful and even downright RUDE! I've had three bridesmaid dress alterations in the past and Nazemi Bridal has delivered the best results! My bride had her wedding gown altered here and I took the chance to get my bridesmaid dress alterations as well. This place comes with a price tag; a hefty one. But the two ladies truly know what they are doing. The place is also gorgeous so the dress fitting is in style and glamour. I think you pay for what you get. I've paid $80 in the past to alter just the length of one of my bridesmaid dresses. It was a halter style dress and even though the width and the halter straps did not fit, the tailor said he cannot adjust them, or else it will change the shape of the dress. I trusted his words. But now that I also had another halter dress altered here, I know that tailor wasn't experienced. I haven't had an altered dress fit so well around the neck, shoulders, arms, and waist until coming here. The length of the dress was a tad too long after the final alteration. It was a beach wedding so I would be wearing flip flops. The ladies here gladly made another appointment and adjusted the length within 10 minutes without charging me extra. I bought my wedding dress at a BHLDN sample sale, and it was much too big for me. I could pinch several inches of fabric behind my back. Once I got the dress cleaned, I brought it to several different alterations shops around DC. Nazemi Bridal not only had the best price of the shops I went to, it was also the nicest and most personal shop. I wasn't ushered into a room and left there for 20 minutes. I didn't feel like I was being rushed to get the next girl in. It was a wonderful process that made me feel like a bride instead of just a customer. Tannaz also clearly had the expertise and experience necessary for the dress. I had no idea how complicated my dress would be when I bought it, but Tannaz took the time to explain to me what she would need to do to make this my dream dress. To note, I had a lace corset top with no hard waist, and the bottom of the dress (several inches too long) had lace as well. This made it difficult to change the skirt length, as it couldn't be taken off of the bottom and the waist line had lace. Tannaz went through the effort of taking off the entire front panel and re-sewing it under the lace on the waist so that I could keep both the lace on the bottom and at the waist in tact. She also was able to take in the dress several inches in a way that didn't even look like it had been done. In addition to that, since it was a sample gown, Tannaz fixed a lot of the lace and detail on the top of the dress (as well as sewed in another ribbon thing for hanging the dress on a hanger) and made it look brand new. It's hard to trust someone with your wedding gown, but I had such a wonderful experience at Nazemi Bridal and I would trust her with anything. The dress went from a beat-up, over-sized sample dress to an incredible, like-new wedding gown. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you so much for making this dress mine. read more

They were definitely on the expensive side, but really worth every penny. I took my BHLDN dress there. It needed a lot of work; way too big, a lot of hem needed, bustling, modesty panel. Its a complicated dress with numerous layers. I also hurt my ankle in between fittings and came back with a much lower heel, so they had to redo the hem. Every alteration was well done and looked like new. The staff is friendly and scheduling was easy. I am really happy with the finished product. Definitely recommended!! read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with how my wedding dress (BHLDN's Written in the Stars) fit me after all of my visits. The good: The space is nice and easy to get to (I Ubered), and it was easy to get fitting appointments. The ladies there were very nice. The hemming and both bustles on my dress were very well done. The bad: the top of the dress, which has a lot of beading, just did not fit me properly. I hate seeing how poorly it fit in my wedding day photos. The extra fabric by my armpits was not removed. This is a basic thing as two other tailors suggested and completed that type of alternation on two other ornate pieces of clothing that I own. (I had those done afterward so I didn't know to request it.) I had some concerns about the fit, which I voiced but was told it was because of my posture (one of the straps looks longer than the other). To top it off, I spent $954 on the alterations, $54 of which was tax, which I don't think DC merchants are supposed to charge for services. Bottom line: be careful if your dress is ornate and you don't have perfect posture. read more

I purchased a ballgown-style wedding gown from BHLDN which was gorgeous but was a little too prom-dress-y because of a satin bow around the wish. Nazemi Bridal absolutely lived up to the expectations I had based oin all of the fantastic reviews!! I'm thrilled that I chose to use Nazemi Bridal! My dress has very delicate fabric and areas of beaded detail. I was literally up every night worried that the alterations would alter the look of my dress, but with the talented seamstress at Nazemi that wasn't an issue. They were actually able to remove the embellishment, take in my dress, and reattach it without changing the look of the dress. They were able to shorten the straps, which were sheer, without damaging the fabric. It was very easy to schedule my first appointment. After my consultation I was given a price. It was well worth every penny. I paid half up front and scheduled two additional appointments. I was never there more than about 20 minutes, and there was never more than two brides at a time. I did get to see a variety of dresses that Tannaz was working on, she is truly talented! I feel that Nazemi Bridal is very well managed. Each time evwryone got the attention they needed. I feel bad but I honestly didn't have the best experience here. They're very nice, but the hem on my simple dress definitely looks rushed. I went in for a simple hem on my wedding dress (easy material to cut) and knew the $500 was on the pricier side, but I wanted my dress to be perfect. The second time I went in, they had to re-pin the dress and asked if I wore different shoes (nope, same shoes!). Then when I came in after the dress was supposedly finished, the dress was still somehow too long. I assumed I'd just come back another time, which would be fine, but they rushed to re-cut and hem the dress in about 10 minutes! I was rushed out a little, so I didn't realize the dress was uneven and some tulle was sticking out of one side. For the price and how simple the job was, I'm really disappointed. I ended up cutting some tulle off myself with my sewing scissors to even out the bottom a little. I also noticed a pin was left in the bottom, and I'm glad I did because what if I had stepped on it on my wedding day? Oh well. read more

Nazemi Bridal did an amazing job altering my Lihi Hod wedding dress. The dress was originally 2 full sizes too big and we had trouble deciding how to bring it in given there was a corset built into the dress. The women at Nazemi ended up finding a solution which didn't change the look of the dress at all and made it feel like the dress was perfectly fit to my size. The women here are super friendly and did not change the total fee from the original quote even though the alterations plan changed a bit. I highly highly recommend Nazemi! read more

My experience here has been really great - I returned from my deployment in a huge rush to get my wedding dress altered and I was very pressed for time. The Nazemi Bridal team cut the time in half to get my alterations done in time for my destination wedding. The had to go from a size 8 to a 2, add a bustle, hem the dress, and entirely replace the zipper from my sample sale dress. The work that they did was really incredible even though the bustle didn't really make it though the wedding day and tore, leaving a hole in my wedding dress. I have a wedding in October I wanted to get ahead of. The phone conversation was pleasant and easy to book. Upon arriving 10 minutes late into my appointment, I was relieved to discover that the previous fitting before me was still wrapping up. I was welcomed and asked to change into my gown. There was seemingly no time for personal introductions or verification of my scheduled appointment. I was then asked to go up onto the platform and I told her my vision for the top half which she advised was not something I would want as she already knew that it wouldn't look good with the style of dress I chose. She then left to address the previous client's needs. I decided to step down after feeling dismissed. She turned to me and recommended I return or sell my gown to get the boning required to achieve the look I desired on the top half. I was then told that the changes would cost a lot of money but moments later told that it wasn't possible. I'm not sure if she sized us up and thought we couldn't afford those alterations. I was crestfallen. As I headed to the changing room, a bride and her mother entered and I realized it was just ten minutes after I arrived. I'm not sure how she intended to give individualized attention to each appointment when they're scheduled so close together. I left unsatisfied and called backups for an available appointment. After breakfast another alterations specialist returned a missed call since I left no message. I was floored, what successful business with over 80 5-star reviews does that anymore? I was seen last minute and was given the complete hour of individualized attention since someone had canceled. The changes I want are absolutely doable according to his 21-year experience. His vision and enthusiasm was contagious as I came in with dress regret, he had so many ideas and I felt unpressured to use his services. My first fitting was a success and already looks like a completely modernized dress. All fittings are covered on a flat fee and I must have saved at least $300 based off of the prices stated in these Nazemi reviews. After that successful encounter, I felt like Nazemi's staff just didn't have the same enthusiasm. It was just a job nothing more. I'm sure people feel justified paying nearly $1000 for simple alterations, but do some homework and you'll find more confident, experienced, and affordable services. read more

Came to Nazemi on a recommendation from a local dress shop and it 1000% lived up to the hype! The back of my wedding dress had delicate lace detail down the sides, but was gaping like none other when i brought it in. The women at Nazemi were able to do some incredibly skilled work with the lace (and add a beautiful bustle!) and now it fits like a dream. If I hadn't been the one to bring it in, I wouldn't have known the lace was altered at all. I couldn't be happier. At my first appointment, they had the full dress (length, lace, and shoulder edits) pinned up in less than 10 minutes. What?!? I'm very happy with this place. I had bought my wedding gown only a few months before the big day and on top of that my order was delayed. When it finally arrived, it was at least two sizes too big even though it was ordered according to my measurements. I had to find a place that would do significant alterations in pretty much no time. I had read great reviews about Nazemi Bridal and was quick to make an appointment. They did not disappoint! They were very welcoming and listened to my wishes very attentively. They did a beautiful job, and let me tell you, the gown was not the easiest to deal with (very intricate embroidery on the bodice that turned out was glued and had to be re-glued during alterations). If I ever have to make alterations to any formal dress, I would definitely use their services again. read more

I loved my wedding dress when I ordered it, but when I actually picked it up, I had a minor panic attack -- my dress didn't fit and wasn't what I remembered, and frankly, I hated it. But Tannaz did a fantastic job altering the dress to fit me, and at the end of the day, once it actually fit I ended up remembering why I loved my dress when I first tried it on. My dress was a fit and flare, so quite fitted, and I had ordered it in my size, but when it came in it was still quite large. It had to be taken in on the sides, fitted in the chest (which included the addition of cups, since my dress was strapless and had a low back), and shortened quite a bit. Plus, my dress had Vintage-type beading/lace on the whole thing that I'm sure made alterations tricky. For my dress, all that work cost about $550. I had to have my dress altered with less than two months to go before my wedding, and Tannaz was able to fit in three appointments and to finish my dress before I had to fly out for my wedding (and never made me feel panicked about the tighter time frame, which a few other places did). I was very happy with the alterations and how my dress turned out. Plus, Tannaz is very nice and sweet, and responsive by email and by phone. read more
