    Their dresses run small
    Kassie E.

I came in looking for an off the shoulder mermaid dress. Their dresses run small and the lady who was helping me pick out dresses, poor thing, didn't have a clue what to pick out for my curvy body type. She picked out a few size 16 dresses that did not fit and tried to get me in some size 14 dresses that DEF were not gonna go over my hips. Also they did not have a large selection of off shoulder mermaid dresses. Ever if they did the Assistant did not show them to me. If you are a sister sized 14 and up look elsewhere.

My experience at Carine's Bridal Atelier was extraordinary. I went alone because my family and friends are quarantining abroad; however, I still had so much fun! My bridal stylist was Liz. I highly recommend asking for her. She is so wonderful, kind, funny, patient, accommodating and friendly. Although, I went alone, it felt like I had a close friend with me giving me honest feedback and helpful recommendations. I probably tried on 9+ dresses, but I never felt rushed. She even helped me take photos of me in the dresses I tried on. Did I mention she also worked at Kleinfeld before this? You'll be in great hands! I loved all of the dresses I tried on at Carine's. They have a wonderful selection, so you won't need to go anywhere else. All of my favorite bridal designers were here. The atmosphere/ambiance was very positive and elegant. I loved the interior decor and layout of the atelier. I felt very at home at Carine's. I would definitely recommend Carine's to anyone who is looking for a boutique with great selection of dresses and incredible customer service. I can't wait to come back to pick out my dress for my big wedding. Thank you Liz, William and Carine! Xx

After searching all over for 'the dress' I found my way into Carine's Aisle and it did not disappoint!! Within 20 minutes I found exactly what I was looking for and couldn't be happier! I snagged this stunning gown and it was worth every penny and more. I highly recommend if you are looking for a designer gown at half the price! Thanks Carine's!!

I love Carine's not just because of the great selections but their wonderful service. I had great experiences with Briana, who's the best bridal consultant I've ever worked with. Although I ended up finding a dress elsewhere, I strongly recommend this place to every new bride.

Vera Wang full priced dress. It's so soft.

This is the best bridal shop I have been to. After Vera Wang in NYC, BHLDN, this is my favorite bridal shop. They have a large selection of designer dresses and staffs are so friendly. I have been to sample sales before but I'm surprised how many dresses they have for sample sales and they are all in good conditions. I love the store and the sample sales in the basement a lot. I said yes to my Vera Wang dress which is half price for sample sale.

    My amazing bridal consultant Briana!

What's the price range of gowns at this location and do they carry plus sizes?

Prices start at $3000 and average around $7000. They also have trunk shows intermittently where you can get special discounts on selected designers. The dresses are worth the price. Everything is elegant and one of a kind. Strongly recommend at…

Not only was the woman behind the counter so friendly and polite, she was helpful. A few days later, she showed me the dress, and it looked fixed. When I arrived home to try it on, I could tell she did wonders. While the price I paid in the end was not the one she initially quoted, I was ok with paying slightly more as it involved fixing the hem and pleats of the bottom half of a dress as well as potentially adjusting the side seams where the pockets were. Additionally, she did caveat that she might not be able to fix the dress so I appreciated her upfront-ness. And so for the last two months, I have trekked to Farragut Square, greeting the folks behind the front desk and walking into the quaint space that is Barr Cleaners where the woman greets me by name and asks when I need my items. She is always flexible and can turn the items around within a day or two, if it's not a lot. Most of the times, I tell her she can take her time, and even still, it's only a couple of days, and I'm ok with that. The most recent dress I brought in clearly showed wear, and when I asked if she could take care of it, she smiled and said in her cute way, "No problem." Prices are a little pricey, but the service is worth it in my opinion.

The first thing you need to know is that this establishment does not have a standardized list of services or prices anywhere online or in their shop. I first went to them on June 22 to have five dresses dry cleaned (quoted $79.45), one blazer dry cleaned and shortened (quoted $52.95), and one dress' zipper repaired as well as have it dry cleaned (quoted $52.99 or $29.99 depending on if the existing zipper was salvageable or needed to be replaced). The prices seemed a bit steep to me, so I told the woman at the desk, Eden, that I would shop around for a cleaner and maybe return. I decided that paying for convenience was worth it and returned on July 8 due to Barr's close proximity to my workplace. This time, I dropped off two dresses for dry cleaning/stain removal (paid $29.98), one dress to just have the zipper repaired (paid $28), and two blazers to just have shortened (paid $50 each). When I got to work, I realized that I was paying almost the exact same amount to simply have a blazer altered that I was quoted for an alteration AND dry cleaning a couple of weeks ago. I called to inquire about this and was given the runaround. A man who I suppose is the manager initially said that he did not know why the pricing was what it was then told me that it was perhaps due to some promotion going on. I asked how much the promotion was to result in the pricing nearly being equivalent, and he said 10% which still doesn't make sense. I told him so, then, presumably due to being tired of speaking with me, he told me that I could come pick up my items and receive a refund which worked perfectly fine with me. While picking up my items, Eden told me that the refund had to be processed through an accountant and that the man I spoke to before was not in at the moment to discuss things further. After getting in contact with him, he told me that the refund had been initiated and to text them my email address to receive proof of this via email. As of the afternoon of July 9, I have still not received an actual refund, confirmation of a refund, or any specific timeline for the processing of my refund. I called Barr this morning after they ignored my texts and got an AI assistant for the first time since trying to resolve this matter, so it seems I'll just be disputing these charges with my bank. These business practices are egregious, and I can only imagine how many others have been charged on a whim but did not realize and thus could not rectify matters. I cannot recommend Barr Cleaners any less. UPDATE (July 10, 2026): Barr Cleaners said they issued a refund this morning and requested my email to send me a refund receipt. I will update this review a final time when I receive the receipt. UPDATE (July 10, 2026): I received confirmation of a refund via email this afternoon. I'm glad to have this matter finally resolved, but my original rating still stands.

I bought my tuxedo for my wedding at a fancy-pants made to order website based out of NYC. They had my measurements, and all was set for the perfect tux. Well, when it finally arrived, it looked like someone had painted it on to my body. I could hardly breathe, let alone anticipate moving around or enjoying myself. Thankfully I came across Chris' website- "Stephen The Tailor". I quickly booked an appointment. Chris was kind, funny, and welcoming to me and my (now) wife. He put us both at ease, helping navigate all that needed to happen. Neither one of us imagined that the suit that was delivered would be salvaged. Chris, must have taken every stitch out of this three piece to reconstruct the perfect tuxedo for me. I still cannot identify what he retooled. Easily the mark of a true craftsman and expert tailor. The photos speak for themselves. It was the perfect outfit for the perfect day. The dry cleaning alone was flawless (my wife was wishing that's where she took her dress prior to our wedding)! Needless to say, I'm all in with this shop. They get the good dry cleaning, and Chris is hired to make all of my future suits! That's right, he's a bespoke suit maker, too. If only I had come to him first... he could have easily crafted this outfit- Jacket, shirt, vest... all of it. Save yourself the headache. Go see Chris. I've gone to several other dry cleaners with lower ratings but far superior results. I dropped off four shirts and two suits. The suits came back with white marks and weird chemical stains/marks all over them. I literally had both of them re-cleaned. Both of these were visible and easily noticeable in any quality assurance check. They lost one of my three shirts but ended up finding it. This is partially because, unlike most dry cleaners, they do not tie all the items together. One shirt was accidentally pulled and put on a delivery truck. I had to make a special trip back the next day to pick up the missing shirt. The shirts had yellow colouring on the colours and did not appear clean. I ended up having all shirts re-cleaned as well. I did not feel satisfied at all. I raised my concerns to management who offered me a free clean when I am back in DC again. Obviously given this experience I am not going to take them up on this offer - as my garments actually seem more damaged than cleaned. To me, the right answer is to refund my payment, improve their processes, and then ask me to come back. This did not occur. No apology, no remorse, just tried to explain that no one would see the damage or colour.
