You. Must. Eat. At This. Restaurant. We received a tip from a local about this restaurant. "Sit at the bar and watch Arturo cook." Great tip. Not only did we watch his artistry, but we got to talk with him. He's been in the restaurant business since he was a kid and learned from his mother as well. It shows in the flavor profiles of his food. He is a master chef. We, at his suggestion, let him prepare food for us--off menu. What a treat!! Escargot, his mother's cheese balls with sauce (don't miss them!), ravioli, salad, spicy spinach and fish, pork chops, veal, etc, etc. we spent three hours enjoying Arturo and his food. We rolled out of the restaurant sated and in a state of bliss. It was an experience we won't soon forget. Go. Eat! read more

Very attentive staff. Nice ambiance. The food not so special. Veal parmigiana was about what you would prepare at home . Nothing notable about veal patty, seemed the prepared you get in grocery store and again my red sauces are more flavorful. The real crime was the overcooked halibut. Should be a basic cooking skill. Given how-hum food and high prices, could not recommend. read more

What a gem of a place in an area with not a lot of great options! Our son has been playing junior hockey in Soo, MI for the last year and a half. We make it up there as often as possible and have eaten mostly on the MI side where there are not a lot of great options. This time we decided to look on the Canada side! Antico's was fantastic! There were four of us and we did drinks, apps, mains and desserts. We tried the scallops, burrata and cheese balls as apps. All were fantastic! For dinner 3 of us had the beef short rib and pasta. The short rib was so tender and the pasta cooked to perfect al dente texture. I had the lobster ravioli and added the grilled shrimp! Perfection! For dessert the tiramisu was a standout along with the canola cake! The wine list was a tad limited but the choices available were solid and priced reasonably! The service was top tier. Our waitress was outstanding and the owner/chef came out to chat with us. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! read more

I am from Chicago. I went up to Canada for a few hours after the mini on the Mack event in Michigan. I found this on yelp and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Salad was nice and crispy with home dressing. Calamari was crispy and tasty. I had the chicken with beef ravioli. Beef ravioli was so flavorful! Chicken was tender and fully cooked. The sauce it was cooked in permeated throughout. It was truly enjoyable. The building looks like a house that the first floor was remodeled into a restaurant. Do not let it detract you. The food is top notch. Meals range from $20-$35. Not cheap, but the flavor of the food and service are great. read more

I was really excited to try this place. I had heard that the portions were small & it was expensive. Portion size is perfectly normal. The food, however, was dull. I had the chef special for that evening which was risotto with lobster tails and I was terribly disappointed. We may go back but it's a $200 gamble that could go either way (plz note that included 2 apps, 2 mains, 1 dessert & a bottle of wine). Also, the chef was out in the restaurant many times throughout the evening meeting people & delivering plates which I thought was a nice touch. The ambiance of this place is very nice which really completes the dining experience so I'm hoping it was just an off night. read more

Came to this restaurant based on some of the reviews I read on here. Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat there. Upon entering, the hostess greeted us and asked if we had a reservation; before I could let her know we didn't, she interrupted me and proceeded to walk between my colleague and me to give the man behind us a hug. Once she finished with him, she asked us to wait so she can ask her boss "if we were welcome" because they "were having a thing". The greeting felt extremely unwelcoming and we decided to leave while another waitress requested we wait, but that wasn't the end; the man that got the hug suggested that she "just let them go". Obviously we will never go there again, but I suggest that the owner give their wait staff some training on respect. read more

I absolutely love this place! The food is gastronomic delight. When I am in town I always stop in for dinner. The atmosphere and service is wonderful, great place for any occasion. Requested to be seated at the bar but was told no seats were available. Throughout our dinner there were always 4 seats available. Not impressed. Wait staff were adequate. Food was good but the price I paid for 8 raviolis was ridiculous. Would we eat there again? Probably not. read more

We live in Nashville TN but my husband is from the Soo and has been raving about Arturo's food for years, so when we realized he opened a new restaurant it was a must on our list when visiting. My husband promised a meal that would be the best I ever had, and did not disappoint. We had figs stuffed with goat cheese and prosciutto which was absolutely amazing - perfect combination of sweet, creamy and salty. The mussels had the best broth we have ever had. I had chicken Portofino and my husband had the lamb. It was fantastic! I loved that the owner was so involved. He checked on each table and was extremely hospitable. Excellent! Best restaurant on either side of the river. Arturo is a gem. Had the shrimp puttanesca to open. Deep flavor and some spice but not overwhelming the shrimp. Balanced perfectly. Sauce could stand alone which is why they will offer you a spoon and plenty of bread. Take them up on the offer. Followed with the special a lamb shank and pumpkin risotto. Outstanding, particularly the risotto. Shank fell off the bone as it should but also had great flavor that married perfectly with the pumpkin risotto. Terrific. Wife had some calamari, perfectly cooked and she had the fish special main, an Arctic char. Perfect. Sat with Art at the bar to enjoy him and Dino's banter and conversation. He offered a brandy to finish the meal and I felt I was home, a very very fine home. Can't really comment on service since we were at the bar with Art so everything came on time and hot. Drinks were good. My wife enjoys a good martini, 3 olives, and not disappointed. Go for a great evening. read more
