I was on my way to WI from Indianapolis when my husband called to tell me I left my overnight bag at home. By that point, I was almost to Chicago (over 3 hours from home) and I had to be somewhere at a certain time for a paid weekend opportunity taking photos of murals in their town. My vision is terrible. And my contacts are supposed to be changed daily. I didn't even have my glasses. I left on a Friday and wouldn't be back until Sunday and usually after more than a day or wear, the contacts start to break down. I absolutely cannot see without them or my glasses and I was traveling alone. I happened by this spot while getting gas and popped in to see if by some chance they might have samples in my prescription and they did!!! They seriously saved me so much anxiety over the weekend and now I have several pairs to get me through if I need them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The manager, Lana, failed to follow up after several requests, and when I called again, I was abruptly hung up on. I have since contacted the Better Business Bureau and Pearle Vision Headquarters, as I need my funds to go somewhere else for prescription glasses... How HORRIBLE is that !!! The original glasses caused a painful sore on the bridge of my nose, so I returned on March 11 to exchange the frames. I did not receive the replacement glasses until April 15. During that time, I was told the first replacement had arrived but was sent back due to quality issues. Because I wear bifocals, I was concerned that measurements would need to be taken with the new frames. When I asked Mary about this, she told me she already had the necessary measurements and did not remeasure me. After trying to wear the replacement glasses, I returned on May 1 because I could not see properly unless I pulled the glasses down on my nose. The bifocal line had been positioned incorrectly. At that visit, Mary finally measured my eyes with the new frames and told me she would order replacement lenses. Today is June 1, and after calling for an update, I learned that it appears nothing has been ordered. It is very unfortunate because I genuinely like the eye doctor, but the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and extended delays have left me without functional glasses despite spending more than $600. I will not be returning.

I asked for corporates phone number and she told me she didn't have corporates number. I believe they are trying to scam people and double charge.

We recently brought our son for his school exam and the doctor was great about explaining what was happening and going slowly through the process. He ended up needing glasses and there was a great selection of kids frames available for him to try on and select from. My one negative is that there is one woman in the eyewear room that almost seems bothered to be there and to be helping. But if you can avoid her, you'll likely have a great experience.

I've read some of the other reviews, and they don't match my experience at all. The lady helping me answered all my questions and even gave me a sweet deal for both my eyeglasses and some contacts. After going to LensCrafters and America's Best, Visionworks was the one in network for my VSP Insurance. The lady helping was able to use my insurance towards the contacts and 60% off on my eyeglasses. I also needed progressive lenses along with Bluelight filter and anti-glare. They have a good selection of some off brands and also Ray Bans, DKNY, Michael Kors, etc. they don't really carry the luxury brands like Gucci, or Versace so if you are looking for those you won't find them here. I've always gone to Visionworks for eyeglasses as they usually have pretty good prices for decent glasses. This one is located inside Gurnee Mills Mall close to entrance J.
