The staff truly does put the customer first and really appreciates our business demonstrated by their actions; therefore, when I received service of this caliber, I show my appreciation by writing a well-deserved review! During this unusual time in history with the Covid-19 pandemic I walked into the My Eye Xpert Office in Gurnee IL for another routine eye exam and I was greeted by warm greetings by Amanda who proceeds to ask me to wash my hands for safety then guide me to massage chairs to enjoy while I await next steps. I am pleasantly surprised and enjoy the wonderful massage for about 15 minutes then I am kindly greeted by Mike who proceeds to complete the pre-tests before I meet with Dr. Jeff. Mike explains each procedure and is very professional and polite as he guides me through each step of each test he performs. Afterwards he leads me back to the massage chairs for a short wait before I am introduced to Dr. Jeff . Of course, I am very happy to enjoy another mini massage, so I happily oblige and enjoy the massage chairs again! Next Dr. Jeff escorts me to the eye exam room where I proceed to get my eye exam. Dr. Jeff is truly a qualified and professional ophthalmologist! Not only does he go through the routine eye tests but he's also extremely personable and very easy to talk to, which is helpful because he thoroughly explains the results of the eye exam in clear in concise manner that's very easy to understand. Dr. Jeff explained the adjustments in my prescription were made to both my contacts and eyeglasses to ensure I understood the changes were made for my good for now and going forward. Clearly, he is highly qualified and knows his field well! After my comprehensive eye exam Dr. Jeff gave me trial contacts to wear home and asked Amanda to help me pick out glasses. I was the last appointment of the day (my appointment was at 6pm) and Amanda patiently helped me pick out not one (1) but two (2) frames even though her shift was over for the day! I never felt rushed to hurry up and pick out my glasses so she can leave and go home in fact she told me to take my time and understood picking out glasses is an important decision! Her patience is undeniable and her customer service is incomparable! In essence, I highly recommend My Eye Xpert in Gurnee IL to anyone looking for a comprehensive eye exam during and post Covid-19 pandemic! The original glasses caused a painful sore on the bridge of my nose, so I returned on March 11 to exchange the frames. I did not receive the replacement glasses until April 15. During that time, I was told the first replacement had arrived but was sent back due to quality issues. Because I wear bifocals, I was concerned that measurements would need to be taken with the new frames. When I asked Mary about this, she told me she already had the necessary measurements and did not remeasure me. After trying to wear the replacement glasses, I returned on May 1 because I could not see properly unless I pulled the glasses down on my nose. The bifocal line had been positioned incorrectly. At that visit, Mary finally measured my eyes with the new frames and told me she would order replacement lenses. Today is June 1, and after calling for an update, I learned that it appears nothing has been ordered. It is very unfortunate because I genuinely like the eye doctor, but the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and extended delays have left me without functional glasses despite spending more than $600. After going to LensCrafters and America's Best, Visionworks was the one in network for my VSP Insurance. The lady helping was able to use my insurance towards the contacts and 60% off on my eyeglasses. I also needed progressive lenses along with Bluelight filter and anti-glare. They have a good selection of some off brands and also Ray Bans, DKNY, Michael Kors, etc. they don't really carry the luxury brands like Gucci, or Versace so if you are looking for those you won't find them here. I've always gone to Visionworks for eyeglasses as they usually have pretty good prices for decent glasses. This one is located inside Gurnee Mills Mall close to entrance J.
