    After Patrick's restoration

Patrick is a master craftsman who works magic on the items he restores. I have an antique sideboard that accidentally ended up with a huge water stain. I was sure it was ruined. Patrick made it look as good as new--in fact better than new. He is very knowledgeable and very busy but worth the wait! I think the photos I'm attaching of the before and after tell the story better than I can.

The top is before when my puppy got to a family antique and the bottom is after Patrick's repair. Honestly, I am blown away.

After inheriting some family antiques I was crushed when my puppy got to this table. I was honestly prepared to hear that it was beyond repair; however, I'm absolutely blown away with the work Patrick was able to do. He also repaired a couch, two cabinets, and an antique dressing mirror for me. However, I just have the pictures of the table here because I didn't take before photos of the others. Truly love his attention to detail, love of the furniture (I learned so much more about the time period and where they were crafted), and professionalism. The repair happened quicker than I expected. Patrick was very easy to work with and had great communication. I'd definitely come back as needed (hopefully no more puppy problems though).

Patrick is a master at what he does. He is no ordinary refinisher. He restores in the original technique used.

It is important that you know your community and you are willing to negotiate as a family business. That is what will keep your business alive. I was really excited over the reviews, saying how quick they were to get back, how reasonable their prices were, and how they were willing to work with everyone. When I asked them for a quote to re-upholster 17x20 dining room chair, they wanted to charge $75 a piece for 6 dining room chairs. No deal, no hourly rate; no negotiation whatsoever. Then they said that they would not do delivery because normally you can "unscrew" the seat of the chair. I'm sorry, but by the time I unscrew the chair and bring a bunch of those over to you with my own fabric, what am I even paying you for? This might be really reasonable for upper class people. They did say at this business that reasonable is relative and I would agree. I was not able to get my service done here because it is way too steep. They were cordial, but clearly exclusive.

(and $25-$35 per chair repair, one chair back had completely come off of the chair frame, necessitating a repair) A couple of backs of the chairs were coming apart where the layers of wood were becoming dried out, and the wood was dirty. I knew that they definitely needed more help than I was capable of. He picked them up after a few back and forth emails on scheduling. He said he would likely have them done by Saturday (he picked them up Wed) but then emailed Sat and said he due to the chairs being in bad shape would have them by Monday. No problem, and a turnaround time of less than a week sounded fine. The chairs looked a whole lot better than when he picked them up, he said that he had to do them by hand. One of the chair backs was not glued all the way together. I pointed this out to him, he said I could use some super glue to fix it. I paid him $345 total for four chairs refinishing, and two repairs.

I emailed Jamey and he responded immediately requesting to stop by to take a look at the damage and to give me an estimate. He explained to me my options to repair the furniture (spot repair vs sanding the table top and re-staining) and as promised he emailed me an estimate the following morning. Jamey matched the stain perfectly on the wood surfaces. He was honest with opinion on how the marks on the table top would turn out-- correcting the color wouldn't fill in the gaps, it would only minimize the appearance. It was much cheaper to correct the color vs sanding the table top, so this is the option I choose. He also repaired scratches and marks on a the seat of a leather bar stool. I was very skeptical that it could be patched and repaired-- when Jamey dropped off the seat I stared at if convinced he must have re-upholstered the seat. His repair work on the seat was flawless, which prompted me to write this review. I have a few more items on the repair list and will certainly be calling Jamey again.
