Jimmy is a treasure of Los Angeles. So thankful!!! EXPERT at what he does. Antique Stove custom crafted an OKeefe and Merrit for me years ago, and it is rare that I need a repair, but when I do, Jimmy responds beautifu. One of the best companies -- and people -- around.

    Classic Chambers stove

The pilot light on our 1950s Chambers stove wasn't staying lit. I called Jimmy on a Saturday and he got me scheduled for a visit on the following Tuesday! I could tell by the phone conversation that he knew about these unique stoves. His service was great. He fixed the initial problem and then tuned up the rest of the stove and oven. I am now able to use the oven for the first time in over a year!!! Jimmy explained what he was doing along the way and showed us how to adjust parts in the future. When you need service on a classic old stove, Jimmy is your guy!

Prompt, friendly , efficient, and instructive! My wife and I learned some much about our stove from Jimmy.

Jimmy was fantastic! He is super knowledgeable, gave me a great tutorial and walk through of my vintage okeefe and merrit stove. He showed up early, made several adjustments and repairs to my stove and left me feeling very comfortable with his work. I would definitely use again.

    1950's Western Holly oven

Jimmy SAVED me so much money, hassle and potential damage to my oven and kitchen! American Home Shield sent out All Valley Repair and they told me that I was going to need to remove my 1950's Western Holly built-in oven from the wall so that they could figure out how to fix the door hinges + springs. And this would all be at my expense! I was like "oh hell no." So I found Antique Stove on Yelp and Jimmy came out a couple of days later and fixed my oven door - it was just a couple of springs and cables and he even had the parts with him. And the repair took about 30 mins! Can you imagine if I had pulled the entire oven off the wall just to find out it could have been repaired easily from the front? *Adding a photo so you can imagine the damage that would've occurred if I had pulled it off the wall* OMG don't bother calling anyone else if you have vintage appliances. Antique Stove is the BEST.

Laguna Beach, Ca. Jimmy gets high marks with us because he is an expert at his profession. We have had other antique stove repairmen but none were on the same level as Jimmy. He had the oven door springs replaced and the hinges realigned in about 30 minutes. Both oven pilot lights were leaking gas and needed cleaning, we were not even aware of this hazardous condition. He explained how the pilot lights were supposed to look so we can check on that periodically. He calibrated the right hand oven because it was burning about 50 degrees hotter than what the dial indicated. He then tuned up all the top burners and adjusted the air intakes. Our stove has not had this kind of attention ever. He even touched up the porcelain chips before he left. I thought Jimmy was worth every penny of our $500 bill. Yes, he is not cheap, but it was so worth it to have someone drive 70 miles to do a house call. His rates are not hourly. Each task had a number, this can add up. Depending on your needs and what you can afford, will determine your final amount. He did not charge us for the top burner tune up and the calibration though, that was included in the service call. Jimmy is a busy guy. We checked in with him periodically to confirm we were still on his list. We were on the schedule after about eight weeks. We were patient and I'm glad we waited.

My Wedgewood stove, now working flawlessly thanks to Jimmy from Antique Stove!

Summary: Jimmy from Antique Stove is so kind, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful! He is also early/on-time, has transparent pricing, is extremely attentive to detail, and loves educating clients! I wish more service professionals were like him. I highly recommend this company!! Details: My antique Wedgewood double oven stove apparently started leaking gas. At first, I wasn't even sure if I should be calling a plumber (didn't know if it was the gas line or the stove itself), but after a few appliance companies some friends had recommended had told me they wouldn't touch an antique stove, I quickly realized I had to find someone experienced with these antique units, since their parts and mechanics seemed totally different than modern stoves. I really didn't want to have to get a new stove, either! Thankfully, I found Antique Stove on Yelp. Jimmy (the owner) was actually recovering from an illness when I called, but he still picked up the phone, and not only was he willing to come down to Long Beach, but he gave me a very reasonable estimate for the call charge. Then I asked what would be a best- vs worst-case scenario in terms of what the total charges could be, since I had never dealt with a leaking stove before, and I didn't want to pay the call charge just to find out that it was going to be a multi-thousand dollar repair, or that I'd have to still get rid of the stove, etc. Jimmy was not only willing to take the time to explain to me what the possible causes could be and approximately what they might cost (and the costs were all very reasonable even in the worst case), but he did it patiently and kindly, too. He made me feel very comfortable that he had a great working knowledge of these units. I was totally satisfied, and thus made an appointment, which was for the same week (just two days later), so he even has very fast service, as he knew my stove was totally nonfunctional! Jimmy then thoughtfully asked if it was ok for him to wear a mask in my home since he was still recovering, and I said of course (he confirmed it wasn't covid). On the morning of the appointment, Jimmy was actually running a bit earlier than the window he had booked with me, but made sure to text me well in advance to let me know, which I was delighted with. His communication is truly super. Upon his arrival, I greeted him with a mask, as well. He was very cordial to me and the dogs and then got right to work. He carefully tested all the stove components, narrating as he did so the entire time so I would know what was happening, which I tremendously appreciated! Some people are just born educators, and it is clear that Jimmy took great pride in trying to help *me* understand all the parts of my stove, why my stove wasn't working, and then what could be done about it. For example, he took the time to show me the reset buttons on both sides of the stove for future reference! Once he had disassembled the top of the stove, Jimmy quickly found what the issue was (leaking valve), got my approval for the part charge, went out to his vehicle to get the appropriate part, showed it to me, replaced it, and that was it! The total charge ended up being significantly less than the "worst" case scenario and barely above the "best" case scenario he had originally quoted, so I was, again, very pleased! I asked Jimmy to look at one other item on the stove that I had repaired myself many years back, and he inspected it and told me that he thought it was solid! I imagine that another repairman might have attempted to make me feel like the repair was unsafe to charge for another service, so I truly felt that Jimmy was very honest and just wanted what was best for me and my needs. As Jimmy was putting the stove back together, he noticed on his own that the bottom front panel below the broilers was slightly loose, so he even went out of his way and took the extra few minutes to adjust the interior retainer clips to make sure it would stay on securely. This loose part had been annoying me for months, and I had actually forgotten about it in the midst of the gas leak, so I was very grateful! Lastly, he let me know that whenever I was ready, he did offer replacement parts for the cosmetic parts of the stove that had become dirty with age, but in no way pressured me to buy them and said that he was often in Long Beach and could drop them off anytime I liked. That was so good to know! In conclusion, I could not possibly have been more pleased with the ease, speed, and satisfaction of this repair visit. I truly wish more people would pay this kind of A+++ attention to being kind, courteous, and helpful to their customers!!

    The oven is working!

Best Price Appliance Repair sent a technician named Arthur to my house. He determined that the oven had a loose gas valve which was making a lot of noise and giving me wildly fluctuating temperature readings during cooking. I thought the thermostat was broken, and I couldn't figure out why the oven was making rattling noises during cooking. Fortunately, Arthur was able to fix my oven on the spot, and I was able to use the oven this weekend without any issues. If you need to hire someone for this kind of work, I recommend these guys. They saved me a lot of money.

When I called Best Price, someone answered immediately and their fee to come out was more reasonable than some of the other places I reached out to. The reason for my rating is that it appears the technician that came to my home could have been more thorough. When he arrived, I explained the situation and he also noted that he smelled the scent that is concerning me. He spent some time reviewing the back of the fridge and he concluded there was nothing noticeably wrong and recommended I unplug it and deep clean it again to help air out the smell. He believes this fridge is nearing its end (I've had it for around six years). I paid and that was that. The problem is that when I emptied out the fridge, specifically the freezer, I saw black dust or streaks (not noticed the last I deep cleaned). A quick Google search and a family friend who is a handyman shared that it may be an electrical issue. All this to say, I paid for a diagnostic service that didn't provide a clear answer (especially since it's not normal to fridges to smell like something is burning) because it appears the technician could have been more thorough to explain any additional options or review components inside the fridge. Now I have to go out and buy a new fridge to avoid a potential fire hazard.

These guys are amazing !!!…read more I vouch for these guys fully. We had trouble with our washing machine/dryer and we called these experts to help us diagnose the problem. Nick arrived on the scene and he was a complete pro. He used his tools, did his tests, and not only explained things easily for me to understand, he told me what was wrong (which nothing was actually wrong). He was not only an honest man, but this is an honest company. The service was thorough, the value of the check was fair, and their professionalism shined through like no other. I thought it was high and asked if it was better to replace my dishwasher all together since it was pretty old (10+ years). He said it was a good dishwasher and to replace the gaskets. I should have done more research and not relied on the vendors advice but I trusted him bc of the reviews so I went ahead with the $280. A year after the repairs, the gaskets started falling out so I called TJ, and they said bc it was just over a year, the work was no longer on warranty and recommended just to push the gaskets back into place. Now a year and a half after that, parts of the gaskets have broken apart and they remain loose so the dishwasher leaks. So I ended up buying a new dishwasher which I could have done 2.5 years ago if I got good advice. Or if I got good repairs that would have lasted more than a year, or even if he was willing to fix his own poorly done repair after a year, I wouldn't be writing this review. Just bc there are good reviews doesn't mean you shouldn't do your due diligence. Lesson learned. Response to Tony's response: nice chat GPT generated response. Shows people how inauthentic you really are.
