I had never been to Antoinette's Café until today. I found the place to be welcoming and comfortable. The owner Enoch is very polite and friendly. I had a delicious chicken salad croissant with the Silly Rabbit juice. Both were delicious and tasted fresh. I love the natural looking decor as well as the bar seating over-looking Buford Highway. There is a very comfortable leather sofa and many comfortable chairs from which to choose. I'll certainly be back to try some other menu choices. I've read many reviews about this place here on Yelp. I understand there was a previous owner and the new owner recently acquired the business. I'd like to say that this kind of restaurant is exactly what we need in Buford. It's a locally owned business, therefore very easily run out by the big corporations. Please support locally owned businesses and restaurants by talking with the business owners and telling them exactly what you like or don't like about the business or the food. This kind of feedback will greatly improve our local businesses and allow them to succeed. If we don't help them succeed and only tear them down by giving them poor reviews, the only choices we'll have are corporate owned restaurants, shops and stores. This cafe is situated in a small plaza, right next door to a barbershop. We arrived on a Saturday for lunch and the cafe was fairly empty. We both ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The service was great, the gentleman taking our order was friendly and the drinks + food came out quickly. The coffee I ordered unfortunately was not good at all. The coffee came out scorching hot, it wasn't drinkable for at least 5-10 mins otherwise it would've burned my tongue. And as mentioned, the taste was not good.. I wanted to drink it but after a few sips I threw it away. I had their egg and sausage sandwich on a brioche bun and the egg was SO salty. It honestly was inedible so I took the egg out and just ate the rest of the sandwich. I wanted to like this cafe because the service was great and menu options were nice. Always super kind and pretty quick. Started coming here again after a few years. I think they lowered their prices? i'm not sure but I remember it being more expensive a few years back. The sausage egg and cheese on brioche is definitely a favorite of mine, no matter what time of day it is. And their orange juice is amazing, I think they put a little bit of grapefruit in it. It's not acidic at all like regular orange juice. Only issue is it gets very foamy torwards the bottom, maybe its because of the way they make it. read more

We chose Antoinette's Café as a good place to catch-up with some friends seeing they had quite a few vegetarian/vegan options. It was spacious inside with much room and comfy seating so not an issue. And a quiet place inside as others have stated below where one can study, read, etc. When we all arrived and placed our order it wasn't complicated (see pictures below), but the service was just super slow. There weren't many folks inside so not sure why everrrrrything was coming out slow, coffees were made (or lack of) and even those took a while...I even had to go up there to make sure our orders were still in the queue and not forgotten. SERVICE = POOR (not a fan, waitress kept us uninformed and unattended (never checked on us), and just never felt engaged) In regards to our food it was okay, nothing too too special. I had a veggie burger wrapped in lettuce with a pumpkin spice café latte while my wife had their chicken toona salad with hazelnut coffee. She stated her meal was good but they had forgotten about her coffee. So I went up to make sure her coffee was being made to only found out it was not and they had forgotten. The waitress politely apologized and I understood (mistakes happen) as she got right to making my wife's hazelnut coffee. Upon completion, when my wife tasted the coffee it wasn't made right and it must've been a different flavor. I went up again to say it was made incorrect and if she could make another one. At this point, I was semi frustrated and folks are trickling in as she takes their order and we're still waiting for coffees to be completed. The lack of staff or help was disappointing. Once remade and done correctly this go-around, the waitress put it a to-go cup (why, who knows...) while she knew we were going to be there for a while catching up with our friends. Here's the kicker --- not only was the coffee brought out in a to-go cup but it was spilling all over as she walked it to the table and set it down. The coffee was filled to the very top, scorching hot, and just a mess. We asked her to bring out a mug and have her pour it in the mug. We were not going to have our clothes be dirty and much more. The whole experience was just unnecessary and if a bit more attention was paid...all things would've been prevented. As much as my wife wanted to spend time and catch-up with our friends, we have to bounce back and forth with staff to make sure we got what we ordered. FOOD/DRINKS = The food was fine (nothing fancy), but not getting our drinks timely and in a well manner was frustrating and proper etiquettes seemed to not be relevant, sadly. The overall feel to the café was okay, nothing special inside although they did have an open area in the back with a rustic dining table where at least 5-6 people can sit comfortably and a decent seating area in the front. AMBIENCE = NOT QUITE A CAFÉ FEEL/WORK IN PROGRESS It looks like it's trying to be home-y, modern feel to it, and I assume they'll be adding more to it to cover up any open space?! Overall, given our experience I would NOT come back again or would at least wait six months to make sure they are well oil machine and adequate training has been provided to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience on the next run. read more

A great and much needed addition to the area. I go to school nearby and this cafe is the perfect lunch spot. It's tucked away in an unassuming little plaza, with a rather unimpressive store front that disguises how cute the interior is. Very casual and a nice array of different kinds of seating depending on your preferences. Counter service, and the employees are lovely and helpful. I ordered the vegan Chickpea "tuna" and it was goooooooood. So tasty and filling, and not as wet as real tuna which I appreciated. It comes with a side of chips. I also got the Turmeric Lentil and Corn soup which was really nice as well. I would've preferred some more spice, but that's just my preferences. What a disappointment! The reviews drew us in, as did the website which states the quality and care of food preparation. Our experience was much different, including: poor quality food, very little attention to care in preparation, served on (flimsy) paper plates, very sparsely provided main ingredients on sandwiches, and a service staff that was uninspired. Add to this, they charge $2.00 per entree item for what they term "Seasonal Charge". When asked, they said it was due to cost increases. So my question, why not simply raise your prices so there's honesty in the transaction. We won't visit again and encourage others to find better options. read more

Great cafe! We had the Plant Power sandwich, the ALT sandwich, a delicious plant based broccoli and "cheddar" soup and the fruit cup. Everything was delicious and well made. I started going here a few months back before they opened for dinner. At that time I was super happy to find some healthy options for breakfast and lunch on this side of Buford but not downtown. At first, I loved the place. Probably would have rated 5 stars. However the experience started to skip the more I went back. They at the time opened at 8am which is a late breakfast for me but I would run out expecting to eat breakfast there only to sit in the parking lot for 10 or 15 minutes waiting on staff to show. The staff is pretty friendly so no knocks on customer service. However, recently the restaurant got acquired. I was excited for some of the changes like opening at 7am. Not only that, I could show at 7am and someone was there. However, over time you could tell the new owner decided to make a lot of quality cuts that brought me there. Now I can't honestly say it's "healthy" anymore. The portions have dropped by a lot. I know it's petty but they used to use real glass cups for water and now they use these cheap plastic cups similar to something you'd see at a dental office to rinse with. One of the last times I was there the cut was so cheap it literally started leaking. The next time the cup was deformed around the top like it was partially melted. I'm not superficial but I say all that to say that it now has a very cheap feel to it and I probably won't be back. I hope the new owner realizes what made the place great was the charm and food. Turning it into a fast food joint isn't going to draw people. Oh, almost forgot. They used to have a great selection of pastries. Now they have doughnuts. Yeah, like he ran to Publix on the way in and grabbed a box and is reselling them. Not cool man! You almost had a great up and coming restaurant with healthy food in Buford. Still waiting. read more

This is a very cute and comfortable cafe. I ordered a ham and swiss croissant and a Green Goddess fresh pressed juice. Both were very tasty. I came in wanting a smoothie but was a bit disappointed by the options, most had apple juice as the first ingredient which is packed with sugar and not healthy so I try to avoid it. I would have liked to have seen more 100% fruit and vegetable (not juices) healthier smoothies. I also came in wanting a salad but their salad options are limited and none enticed me.
