It's in a gas station plaza next to a laundromat and you would not have known that this place serves one of the best Mexican food in the area. They have a few tables in the restaurant and service was quick. We ordered several tacos and a shrimp cocktail. They were all delicious. Very small but quaint, Mexican traditional restaurant. The horchata is phenomenal. They have used the original menues for years. We ordered the ceviche on tostadas and a couple different Mexican tacos. Everything was very good. Hands down the best Mexican food in the area. It's tiny charming and busy. It's worth the drive and the wait. The frijoles are freshly cooked and low in salt. Gorditas cooked to order. Enchiladas generous filled with pollo and cooked in a delicious slightly Smokey verde chile. They also offer red. The pastor was lovely and red but not overly spiced. It's really perfection. Since finding this place, I think we eat it at least once but probably more like twice a week. We love the authentic Mexican food it has. The tacos are amazing! We usually get the Al Pastor or Birria tacos with chip, salsa, and guacamole. Every time the food has been on point. We have only gotten it for take-out and the service has been fabulous. No issues with our orders! We are excited to try other things, but it's hard when the tacos are soo good and flavorful. We decided to try this place because of the great reviews. It was busy when we walked in so we had to wait outside for a table to open up but we did not wait long. You could tell the servers were very busy but they were still attentive. The food was fresh and hot and tasted authentic. I tried cactus for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The portions were huge I got 3 meals out of my dinner. We liked the chips they were warm and crispy although a little thicker than I normally like. We did not really like the salsa. I had chicken enchiladas rojas, wife had camerones al mojo de ajo, son had chilaquiles rojas with steak and eggs. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Service was also excellent. A previous reviewer mentioned that it was too hot inside the small restaurant. This was not the case when we went. The A/C was on and working perfectly. Very comfortable inside. I liked a lot. Was expecting a little more by the reviews. I love Mexican food so I have tried everything and think i have a great point of reference. The staff was really attentive and the prices are the cheapest ever! Its an authentic place. I do not liked the tortillas chips, they weren't crispy and they're thick. This place was not at all what we expected when arriving. We pulled up to a gas station and this restaurant was in the same parking lot... we decided to walk in anyways thinking maybe it was a good hole in the way kinda restaurant or something. Walking in the place was tiny, but we were able to be seated right away which was nice. The food here is good but not as authentic as you would think. What drew us here were the pictures on Yelp and everything looked great as it came out. I do have to say that their fried fish was the prettiest and it was very good. The salsa here was meh. Tasted like they seasoned tomatoes sauce pretty much. The cheese dip they brought out was basically Tostitos yellow cheese ... there beans here def came from a can. I ordered street tacos, and they were good but coming from CA they did not compare. I also didn't like how they grilled the onions , I like my onions raw on my tacos and was not expecting this. I did love their birria taco tho ! But the sauce it came with was not as flavorful. My bf ordered the smothered burrito and it was good , but was something again where they must have poured a can of green chilli sauce over it ... nothing here seemed very homemade.. and lastly the churros here were hard and cold inside and when mentioned, they did not offer to replace them or comp them ... Very limited in drinks here. The problem? The beans had an overwhelming FISHY taste! Why? They are normally first-class and one of the highlights of my meal. The kitchen must have accidentally taken a utensil used for fish/shrimp, then used it on the beans! The rest of our meals were great, but those fishy-beans? A total deal-killer. What a pleasant surprise! It's a tiny, family run, authentic Mexican restaurant hidden in a plaza *dominated by a gas station* on a less traveled back road. I never would have tried it except we got a strong recommendation today from, of all people, our amazing credit union bank teller! She told me, with a strong Spanish accent, this was the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area and I think she was definitely right! It's not what you know, it's who you know! We came by at 5pm on Saturday and got the last parking space! Luckily, we also got a table! As for the bathroom, they have one and it's clean. You just have to go through the kitchen to get there! All good! We over ordered but it's what we do! We like leftovers! We got five different types of Mexican tacos with homemade tortillas and homemade meats including chorizo, al pastor, carnitas, and more. In addition, we got chips, salsa, guacamole, a quesadilla with rice and beans and an incredible huge Mexican beef, veggie and chili stew called mole de olla. Everything was great but the stew was incredibly flavorful! The waitress was excellent and the hostess, part of the Lopez family, checked on us twice! They were happy we tried and loved the stew. We looked up the recipe later the same night! The total bill was fifty-some dollars and worth every penny. I tipped 30% because it was worth it!
