Came specifically for Golden Tee, stayed for the super cheap drinks (for a beach town). They have a Golden Tee PGA edition, darts, billiards, lots of room to sit and hang out with friends along with the normal bar seating. I didn't try the food, but I could tell someone near us got what had to be nuclear hot wings because that spice was fierce lol. We were staying at the Hyatt, went to Shephards for the Impulse reggae band who plays there Saturday's 2p-6p, and then decided to try Pan Filo's for some Golden Tee. It was a really fun place, everyone was friendly, met some other locals (we live a few cities down the beach), just a good vibe. Will definitely be back next time we're doing a stay-cation. read more

Kim was unable to answer multiple times why my price went from $41, to $46, then $48, and proceeded to crumble my first receipt in my face while talking to her, and threw it away. What an amazing place! We are staying at the Shepards Beach Resort and they stopped serving food. Apparently, Pan FILOs was the only place open that did serve food and until 2:30am. The owner is truly a kind-hearted man and the staff were great! Food is delicious. I had to jump on here for a review because they are so much more then a place open late. We will definitely be back. The cook is BAD. There was one bartender who was overworked and high out of her mind. Hands down one of the worst bar experiences I have EVER had. The owner/manager, whoever, tried to get down to the bottom of our issue but it was so understaffed and the one bartender was so high and flipped out she charged us $20 for a bag of chips on a plate with a can of jalapeño peppers dumped on top. Stopped in to Pan Filo's a couple days ago with friends while we were on vacation. It was close to where we were staying and we were looking to quick tacos. After taking a quick glance at the reviews, we were all on board for a dive bar with decent tacos as the reviews stated. What we got...left us underwhelmed. I ordered the Goat, the Cuban, and the Sanchez tostada. Of the three, the Cuban (Pork, Shaved Ham, Bacon, Queso Fresco, Mustard, and Cilantro) had the most flavor however I'm fairly certain the "Pork" was a diced up hot dog. The Goat (Chicken, Goat Cheese, Sweet Peppadews, Bacon, Lime Creme, and Cilantro) had decent flavor, however the chicken was SO dry that it overpowered any flavors from the Peppadews and goat cheese. The Sanchez (Chicken, Black Beans, Salsa, Queso Fresco, Shredded Lettuce, Lime Crema, and Cilantro) had the same problem as the Goat. The chicken was SO dry it pulled all the attention away from any chance the other items had to flavor the dish. My friend wanted to try the Shark taco, however they didnt have shark in and were substituting with Red Snapper. Another friend wanted the Dr Cabra or Get Shorty - however they were out of braised short rib. If they had dipped the shredded chicken into a hot chicken jus or even JUST chicken broth before going on the tacos and tostadas, I would have a much better review. Wish I could say I'm willing to try them again, however with so many other options in Clearwater - I'll leave Pan Filo's for the next guy. read more

Definitely a dive bar feel & the food was all decent. If I was drunk I'd say everything was great & would recommend going here. As a former customer we were so disappointed in the way they treated a couple sitting near us. The couple had been sitting for quite some time waiting to get their order taken. The middle aged blonde waitress had taken our order, our food was delivered, and this couple came in just before us. The waitress kept by passing them blatantly ignoring them. Finally the gentleman asked if they could have 2 waters and they would like to order. She went and got their water, set it down and they asked for straws. She responded, "You need to say, please.* " He said, "I am sorry. I asked May we have straws Please?" She began taking their orders and in the middle of the young man giving her his order, the waitress turned away from him and started talking to a friend, getting her drinks etc.... This was the first time at Pan Filo's. Traffic is a troublesome thing but that's life in Clearwater. If you go in the evening it's really easy. Parking is limited. There is onsite parking but the lot is small. There are various parking places close by. It's Clearwater baby. The wait staff is very friendly. Things were quick to get ordered and drinks brought quickly. We ordered pepperoni pizza, shrimp tacos, and a cheese quesadilla. The tacos were awesome. All good was hot out of the fryers and oven. The kicker on the tacos were the homemade sauces and homemade shell. The pizza was very tasty. Hot and cheesy! Thin crust but that's was ok. The taste made up for it. For an added highlight, if your into this thing, WWE Hall of Famer Bushwacker Luke is there off and on to mingle, take pics, and sign autographs. A cool talking point for any vacation! read more

Not bad, but not worthy of the 4th star and certainly not the 5th. We always have a tough time on Clearwater Beach. Outside of brunch at Clear Sky, I don't think I have given many places high marks. It's even tougher when you have everyone's favorite four-legged companion, BRUCE! So on this day, whence craving tacos, we came to the only Bruce-friendly taco place we could find. Yes, I know other places have tacos - Jimmy Hula's, for example - but we wanted a Mexican restaurant or taqueria, and so it was to Pan Filo's we came. This is more of a sports bar that serves primarily tacos and other Mexican dishes. The restaurant is set off to the side from the bar. By that I mean it's as if the restaurant is a separate business - there's a large open bar area with long tables, darts, TVs, other games, and a large bar along the wall. At the end of the bar is a doorway leading to the kitchen. I suppose it's not so different from any other restaurant, and I should have taken a picture so you can see what I am talking about, but it almost looks like a very small, counter service only, taqueria, where you eat in the adjacent sports bar. The patio is just outside the door, which brings me to another issue. This is in a strip mall, with I believe a Walgreens on one side and other businesses on the other, but the restaurant is set deeper in the parking lot than the other businesses. It's so deep into the parking lot that if you don't see the sign on the street, you probably won't see the restaurant. It's a very strange location and surprising the property was designed like this, and even more surprising you'd open up a restaurant there. Service wasn't great. Server was either new or didn't really understand the menu. She didn't know what came on the tacos, took a very long time to come out to see us, didn't ring in the order correctly (which we called - you know someone is going to have an issue when they don't know the menu and then don't write down your order in spite of ordering 6 tacos), and didn't fix the check correctly at the end. That said, once we ordered service was quick and she was friendly. Food was okay. The shrimp taco on special came out fried, which was surprising. They didn't say anything about them being fried, and we didn't ask because nothing else on the menu is fried. The tortillas are fried, too, to make them a bit crispy and warm (we just use a tortilla warmer at home - frying is unnecessary). The shrimp taco was for Melissa. I ordered the chicken, the Cuban, and the short rib. The cuban was very good, but how could it not be, with ham, pulled pork, and bacon. The chicken was also decent. The short rib, not so much. Didn't like it at all. Just didn't have good flavor. I also had a grouper taco, because when the server messed up the order, we got an extra grouper taco, and that was okay, but I didn't love the lime crema that it was dripping in. All in all, Clearwater Beach still needs a good Mexican restaurant. There's a new one at the Marina, but as it's a rooftop place, it wasn't dog friendly, so we couldn't go. I also saw Capital Taco opened a third location in Brandon, so maybe they'll actually make it to the good locations (South Tampa, Downtown St Pete, the beaches) at some point in the near future. Until then, if you want good Mexican and a day at the beach, head south to St Pete Beach and eat at VIP. You'll wait, but it'll be worth it. read more

I read the reviews and feel like they don't properly prepare you for this place. Let's get this out of the way, yes, the tacos are delicious! The guac was good too. The 4 stars are for the tacos, I would give the ambiance one star. We arrived around midnight or so and walked in to feel really disappointed with the ambiance. It's like a sad bar vibe inside. We chose to sit outside because we weren't up for seedy underbelly bar vibes. But outside was a group of loud women smoking furiously. We opted for tacos to go. With that said, I would eat there again for sure because the tacos are delicious. But if you're looking for a fun taco place, or a normal restaurant vibe, then this is not it. We visited this location twice during a weekend getaway. During the afternoon the staff was extreme friendly and helpful. At night? Different story. Not enough staff, they left 1 server on a peak night who had little experience. She did her best but the bar staff, and so called management were severely lacking. They do have 2 dart boards and pool tables if you like an activity while having a drink or 2. I was excited to try this place! I came here on a recommendation from a friend who is local to the area and it was interesting. My friend and I went on a Friday afternoon and were greeted by -what I assume to be one of the local regulars- who was already pretty hammered. Lots of other people around too who were loud. The waiter was nice but seemed in over his head ... especially when he told us the cook had just walked out after making our food... not a warm fuzzy feeling. The food was ok. Drove by this place 10's of times and never knew it was here. It is set back off the road so it can be easy to miss. parked in their lot which is free. Walked in and were immediately greeted and informed we could sit anywhere we would like. Sat at the bar. Ordered a drink. He ordered a whisky which they were out of but it was still on the menu. (Remove it from the chalkboard so people do not try to order it.) Ordered a couple of other ones. Decent prices which is unheard of for the beach. It was very clean and the bartender and the waiter were really decent at their jobs. Bathroom (womens) was clean. They have a decent menu and also offer pizza. We did not eat so cannot speak to their food. The bartender said they are a mexican place and have a lot of different tequila choices. We did not opt for those as it isn't in our wheelhouse usually. We would definitely return even being locals. The price point and great staff would bring us back. People socially distanced and well ran during a tough time to keep a business open. Okay, if you are in or around Cleawater Beach, this place is a MUST! It is a Gem tucked away just off the main drag, literally tucked away. Tables outside, plenty of seating inside with pool tables and darts.. (Plastic Darts though) The food was out of this world! They make their own hot sauces, with the lime green one being off the charts - Hot! Their guacamole is homemade and amazing and I'm not even a guacamole guy.
