Fun spot smack dab in the middle of Clearwater Beach! Walkable from all of the nearby hotels (including ours), I can see how this would be a go-to destination for many tourist. Even being a local though, I'd certainly visit this restaurant. It sits right on the marina with views all the way around. Unfortunately for us it was raining during our visit, so we weren't able to get a taste of their vast rooftop. Looks like something to be enjoyed though! Here you'll find Mexican-fusion type eats. Which was lucky for me because that's my fave and we went on my birthday! I opted for a spicy marg, which was on happy hour special, and that hit the spot. Love when they do a tahin rim. As for food, my husband and I split the ceviche (holy sh*t was that refreshing and amazing I'd order again 10/10), and some fish tacos (also very good). As for dessert, my one bday request was key lime pie and this place delivered that request! Titled the 'margarita key lime pie,' it's infused with with reposado infused lime. An absolute delight! I think this was my favorite meal from my trip! First of all - the view here is beautiful. You can have a nice view of the marina and the water from almost any seat. I have never had such a fresh and thick salsa, it is the best I've ever had. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of pico. The fish tacos or fills with one piece of mahi-mahi and cabbage, and they too were out of this world. I didn't have the jalapeño cream, because it would be too hot for me. As far as food on Clearwater Beach goes, this was pretty good! I went with folks who like to share so I was able to try lots of dishes. Jalapeño Cornbread is a must! Not overly spicy and not dry. Empanadas were good. Guacamole was my least favorite dish that I tried. The flavor just wasn't there for me. Blackberry margarita was so good! They do offer bottomless mimosas and margaritas!! Chili Relleno were really good! The sauce that they drizzle on top was the perfect finishing touch. Mexican Street Corn was delicious. It wasn't drowning in mayo which tend to steer me away from it but this one was the perfect consistency. Al Pastor Tacos were good but they use shredded pork and I am used to chucks(?) so they were not what I had in mind but the flavors was good. I forgot the name of the dessert but it was like a churro bottom with ice cream and sauce. It was a nice way to end the meal. The parking is a bit tricky. You can only pay for 30 minutes and then you have to get a code from the restaurant to extend your parking time so you have to go back out to the parking meter to extend the time. Super random but we stumbled in this place as we were looking for a specific shop in the area and I am so glad that we did. We got to sit in the outside bar and chat with the bartender outside and he wasn't awesome guy down to earth and loved the area so he gave us some other places to try out which was awesome. We had a few different things and everything was delicious. I drink was phenomenal. The view was beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting here for a while. I was in charge looking for restaurants on this trip & this place did not disappoint We started with some appetizers (got there right at Happy Hour) Chicken skewers 10/10 , nachos 8.5/10 & shrimp ceviche 11/10 this was delicious!! Was craving Mexican food and decided on this restaurant. The location is delightful, overseeing the marina and across the way from a parking lot. (Be careful though, parking enforcement is super strict.) It's casual but some people were in dressy casual attire. Our server Kurt, was so professional and attentive. He was always at our table ready to serve us at the perfect time, like if he could read our minds. His recommendations were on point and just helped make the experience enjoyable. The food was incredible! We went to celebrate a birthday and ate outside under the shaded portion of the seating area. My hands down favorite is the Key Lime pie. I couldn't leave Florida without trying it. The merengue has lime zest in it, the slice was heaven! The food is not your typical greasy Mexican food. It's lighter and elevated. I highly recommend the trio empanadas, the ceviche (ask for their Habanero sauce for extra punch), and their asada burrito. We found this restaurant when we were visiting Pier 60 Marina in Clearwater, FL. The staff were very friendly, especially our server. This restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating, and faces the marina. The food was quite good, even for vegetarians. One thing to note - the portion sizes are quite generous. Thanks to our server, we ordered kids food to share between them and that was sufficient. Even we adults could have shared. Here is all we ordered: - Chips and Salsa: yummy. We devoured those chips. - Guacamole: this was quite well made. Not bland at all. - Garden Quesadillas: this was absolutely delicious. Not too cheesy at all, and very well seasoned. Food was great,I got a barbacoa quesadilla. A bit on the pricy side but still better than most of the places on CWB. My wife got the cantina chicken bowl and she loved it and it filled her up. This might be the first Mexican restaurant that I've been to that doesn't give you complimentary chips and salsa when you're seated. Great selection of drinks, but much better when you can eat/drink outside. Beginning of January, Tampa is going through surprisingly cold weather. Maybe it's not that surprising since the rest of the country is getting hit by an arctic snowstorm, but it was in the 40s-50s when we came, which felt way too cold to sit outside. That being said, they did have heat pits and a few brave souls were sitting outside. I didn't realize they have indoor seating. On a normal day, I would venture to say nobody would choose to sit inside, because the decor isn't that nice. It was kind of dark, with wooden tables and metal chairs. It almost felt like I was in a dive bar in a way. It was also empty on a Friday night (again, most likely people were going to places that they'd go to when it's cold) so there wasn't that much hustle and bustle. The standouts are the drinks. I got the mad mango which has compo brava plata, mango puree, sliced jalapenos, agave, fresh lime juice, tajin spiced rim. It was delicious and I would absolutely get it again. There were more craft cocktails on the menu that caught my eye so this is a place I'd come for multiple drinks. I also got the short rib tacos and were surprised by how quickly they came out. I thought they were good, not great. I'd probably choose something else on the menu next time. Our server was very nice. He was the right level of attentive. A rooftop eatery on clearwater beach so you can sit right in the sun closer to overlooking the water or at one of the tables under the shade. They also have a bar area too. The cauliflower tacos were AMAZING!! They were so flavorful, probably one of the best veggie tacos I've ever had. The only problem would be the corn tortillas, they were falling apart so definitely wouldn't be able to get this to go because the moisture from the marinade would definitely make them fall apart. We just went a couple days ago to Marina Cantina. This place opens until the afternoon , so it was perfect, after we spend a day in the beach. It's great because they have a great happy hour with drinks and food. They have multiple spots to dine in like the bar the rooftop or inside. We really enjoyed this place since we had great music, love the ambience and the people, and the servers were extremely nice. The food was little to say that he was big portions and very tasty. I would come back anytime!! Definitely recommend if you go for the day to the beach and want a later snack or dining! The view is priceless. Very interesting experience. The only restaurant where we went to lunch and loved it enough to order dinner. Lunch was absolutely fantastic and especially the garden vegetable quesadilla which were delicately flavored with the Oaxaca and Cotija cheeses . We re-ordered those for dinner and got slabs of cheddar cheese which completely overpowered the flavor. Overall very good flavors. Also recommend the Chile relleno and the blackened shrimp tacos. In town for a hockey tournament. Made reservations for 35-40 people. They made us the reservation but only allowed us to have a limited menu with no alterations of the food allowed off of the menu they gave us. Now...we have 18 kids with us age 13-14 and they do not want all the crap on their food. Waitress said everything was already premade but if we were regular customers in the restaurant, then alterations could be made. Make sense? What a turnoff with kids. In order to get a plain quesadilla, we would have had to order a cheese quesadilla and get a side of chicken. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. This is just an example of bad customer service. You would think with it being a slower time of year, they would do everything to go above and beyond for large groups. Additionally, they only allowed one bill with a max of four credit cards to pay it. How hard is it to do it by player number and do individual cards? Again, restaurant was slow and so there was plenty of time. Food was good but honestly, find another place for large groups especially with kids. read more

While not everything from here was perfect, I just can't get over how awesome our server was, the great music playing and the beautiful view while sitting on the deck. I started with a Pomegranate Soul-i-rita with no agave nectar and it was such a good and affordable drink. It wasn't too sweet and I could taste the pomegranate flavor. To start, my friends and I split the Trio of Empanadas and every one of them was really good! We all loved them and it was hard to pick which one was our favorite out of the three. For family style dinner, we got the Braised Short Rib, Chicken Mole and Crispy Cauliflower. The crispy cauliflower was amazing and I wish I had more of it. The braised short rib was perfectly cooked and seasoned and I couldn't get enough of it. On the other hand, the chicken mole was not below par for most of my group. It lacked flavor and tasted soggy. I was really sad that they put the beans on top of the rice because I'm not a big fan of beans and it ruined the taste of the rice for me. Special occasion dinner with my wife. No wait on weekend evening, even without a reservation. This was the day Jimmy Buffet died; basically a day of mourning in Clearwater Beach. There was live music! Unfortunately it was a guy exclusively playing sad/soulful renditions of Jimmy Buffet songs. Needless to say, the vibe was grim. Poor timing of our visit aside, the atmosphere was pretty cool. We sat outside and had a nice view of the marina and nearby boats. On to the food. The chips had a tangy/savory dust to them, like limey Doritos. The salsa tasted smoky and savory, much more complex and rich than the house salsa at your usual Mexican restaurant. The guac serving was large and there was quite a bit of it left when our meal was finished despite our gluttony. I had the pork belly tacos. They were good, but the pork was a little more lean and dry than I would have preferred. I asked for hot sauce and they brought me a little cup of the house habanero hot sauce, which was the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. My wife got absolutely stuffed off her cauliflower tacos. We finished up the meal with a piece of tres leches cake which was good but not great. The bottom was nice and soft/squishy from the leches, but the rest of the cake was a little dry. The toasted coconut flakes were a nice touch. Overall, this was a good meal with some room for improvement. Our server was friendly but did make a couple of mistakes. Ordered the Octopus Entree. Although the visual presentation looks great. The taste and texture needed some help for sure. 1. The skin needs to come off the Octopus before sautéing. Skin might look good and give it some substance in color and presentation, it does no good for taste and texture. (Slimy) 2. Less tomatoes and potatoes...more taste. Maybe a pineapple-chile purée drizzle on top of the cleaned sautéed octopus slices in an angle across the dish, not whole tentacles. This could easily be a $35-$40 dish, no problem. 3. Chicken Cantina Bowl. Needs help with marinating the chicken (taste bland) Maybe brine the chicken overnight in a more traditional Tex-Mex mixture that screams Cantina style bowl.. 4. Since it was happy hour, we ordered a lot. Street corn, queso fundido, fried plantain, octopus tostadas, and Grouper Del Sol for the main dish. Everything was just fantastic. The octopus tostada was so flavorful & delicious (probably my favorite dish). The Grouper Del Sol was SOOOOO good though. The flavor was so delicious and the fish was cooked perfectly. The Bartender acted like we shouldn't even be there. We live on the island and are not used to that kind of service and to top it off the chicken was very disgusting. We left our drinks and took the food to go. We took a couple of bites and threw it out . The bartender was also extremely rude to somebody else that sat down a few seats over And was asking if anyone worked there. I can't remember her name, but I know it starts with a K. She should not be in this business and neither should whoever made the food that tasted like I was going to get sick after one bite.
