Always in search of a new Mexican place. I read other reviews on YELP so I went for lunch. What they lack in ambiance, they make up for in flavor and quality. The music is too loud. The menu came with no prices posted. But, I had a carnitas plate that was so good and so generous that I have fresh corn tortillas and carnitas for another lunch. One chicken and one carne asada. The carne asada was really good. The chicken was decent but not as good as the steak. I was going to get a margarita but at 12.95, I opted for a $4 beer instead. Some of the menu prices seemed a little high but the tacos were reasonably priced. I found it a little peculiar that they bring out a bowl of popcorn vs the traditional chips and salsa. It was good popcorn though and we ate it. Just different. The salsas are mixed for me. The red salsa is chipotle, which I do not like. The green salsa is really good but super spicy. When I came home the tacos were waiting for me. He asked me to try them in front of him to see my reaction. Let me tell ya'll something out of majority of the Mexican restaurants I've tried in FL, these tacos are the juiciest. They are very succulent and have just the right amount of seasoning on them. Once I entered the new restaurant, the staff quickly informed me that it's only for dine-in and that I need to head back to the piñata store to place my order. It would be much clearer if there was a sign stating "Dine-In Only; To-Go Orders Must Be Placed at the Store." It's quite confusing! The tacos al pastor were a bit rubbery for me, the salsa was like a thick pasta sauce consistency for me and it was ok. The guacamole was also ok. I don't see what all the hype was for here, The flavor was ok. I love authentic tacos but this place was a hard pass for me. You can order a 32oz beer and a frosty mug with the rim covered in Tajin for that authentic hot day reliever. And the tres leches cakes when you walk in the front door are salvation worthy. In my experience, in the United States, those serve the best food. They serve beer but not liquor, so no margaritas, which is disappointing because I bet they would make an awesome one. I had the garlic shrimp, which was fantastic. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. My wife had the chimichunga. I know, gringo food. However, it was the best Chimichunga we have ever had. I don't think there were more than three or four other tables, so I was surprised that I'd had to wait more than 10m to place my order, and only then because I flagged her down. The food was fine.
