The atmosphere is very nice and the waitress was very friendly, although when I asked if I could get Al Pastor instead of beef or chicken, she said yes but neglected to tell me it would be $3 extra, which made my half Chimichanga $16.50 instead of $13.50. $13.50 for a half Chimichanga (quite small) for lunch? Plus $4.50 for a diet Coke? I'll pass. The refried beans was nothing to write home about. At least chips and salsa was free. The salsa was tasty, the chips run-of-the-mill. Save your money and get way better (and more) food at Antijito's Dona Chirris (my favorite so far) or Poblano's read more

Came here to eat and have a few drinks after the beach and it wasn't too bad. It's a big place, very festive and staff very nice and fast. I had the Burrito cali with grilled steak, huge, meaty and juicy. Will definitely fill you up. My wife ordered the street tacos with carne asada and it came with refried beans and rice. They put a good amount of sauce so it's very juicy and good. The drinks were ok, felt like not enough alcohol in them and a little pricey. Great to put together a Cinco de Mayo party and great turnout but no tacos were $5.99 for 3x, I asked. Additionally, drink prices changed- felt bad when my friend had to pay a higher price for second round of identical drinks that I paid with the first. From the outside place looks old but once you walk in it's so nice. Decoration and ambiance is definitely there. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. They serve complimentary chips and salsa. While the salsa was good the chips were cold and a little stale. I had the street tacos either carne asada. It comes with a side of rice and refried beans which I really enjoyed the carne asada was a bit on the dry and hard side. It is topped with onions and cilantro and they also give you a salsa verde which added flavor and helped for it not to be so dry. My husband had the burrito cali with carne asada and it was a huge portion and he enjoyed it. Drinks were good, had a passion fruit margarita and it was good and refreshing. First time to visit this Mexican restaurant and I was pretty impressed. Extensive drink menu featuring margaritas, many great selections available on the food menu and the service was very good. Fun place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, let them know and they will make it memorable. To be honest, the chips and salsa that they put on the table were on the ordinary side, salsa was pretty thin, not my favorite, but I've had much worse. We had their appetizer, a sampler, with a cheese quesadilla, three mozzarella sticks, three semi nuclear chicken wings, chicken minichimis. Only mozzarella was not 5 stars. The entrees were so filling! Carnitas chimichangas and the unbelievable Fajitas were fantastic. We were a little full - actually had to take some of the food home - but decided to squeeze in flan and fried ice cream for dessert. The fried ice cream would be fine for two people to share. The flan was absolutely delicious. And don't let me forget to mention how festively decorated this restaurant is. It really is a fun place serving really good Mexican food. Second time there now. Very happy both times with the service, food, and bar. Very Mexican themed. If you're lucky enough to be there when a birthday is going on, it is quite an experience. Both times there I've had a different burrito. These are so big and stuffed with protein. It's amazing. Well, as I sit here for the Cinco de Mayo festival, I am a little dismayed at the owner's unfavorable change in behavior. When my friend and I arrived, we didn't know what to order. We were told ... "get a bucket, they're $8.99". Ok... cool. Yup, we will take 2. Then, we decide to get a second. It's much busier. And the line is long.... But now, the drinks increase a couple dollars in price. I comment that no... we just bought these for $8.99, not $11. He showed me a small glass... "this is the $8.99 drink. (Same guy-owner). I relinquish, whatever, we are having fun. Then, they short change me $5 on my cash return. At this point, that just became their tip. I didn't have it in me for further discussion. The guacamole was an absolute standout--chunky, vibrant, loaded with cilantro, tomato, onion, and just the right kick of jalapeño. Their green salsa was also delicious! Bright, herby, and perfectly spiced. The rice had so much flavor, especially the garlic, which paired beautifully with the steak. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and clearly homemade. The kitchen really nailed it. This place has all the makings of a five-star Mexican meal. Unfortunately, the service missed the mark. I ordered Chorizo sopas and Prime Rib Enchiladas with corn tortillas, but was served steak sopas and Chorizo Steak, and Flour tortillas. When I tried to clarify the mix-up, the server insisted that what I received was what I ordered. He argued with me in a confrontational manner Instead of offering to correct it, he only offered cheese enchiladas, then he left the table as though I was just supposed to deal with it. Which, I was going to, until I realized the corn tortillas were actually flour and I thought, this is ridiculous. All of our entrées were incorrect. It turned into an argument that felt confrontational and didn't need to happen. Mistakes happen and we all have off days. However, how we deal with them makes all the difference. Thankfully, I was able to get the hostess to step in and she handled it with grace, helping to correct the order. I totally understand that mistakes happen--but the lack of helpfulness and hospitality from the server, and then arguing with me took away from what could have been a five-star experience. This is our first time here and we weren't disappointed! Arriving just at the end of happy hour that starts at 2pm and ends at 6pm, we were happily surprised with double wine pours. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated and yet all services were very fast. We were treated to tableside guacamole right away and our food came out very quickly after. Every thing we ordered was large portioned and very tasty. Our waiter was super nice and helpful. I do like how they styled the restaurant with large booths on the sides and group tables in the middle. They even managed to make a nice sized bar behind the hostess station. Some friends took me here... It is in a hotel parking lot, with similar roofing, etc. Looks like it was an old diner at one time. Friendly and enthusiastic staff... they even wear skeleton mask (aka Día de Muertos) for birthday custumers, and when they deliver a "flight" of margaritas to a table. My friends said their margaritas are good. And the clean their plates too. Food ...ok... not what I would call traditional, but it is edible. The salsa was too spicy for my tastebuds, but my tastebuds are weak when it comes to heat. I opted for the carnitas street tacos and they were delicious! I am mourning Hacienda Coralejo, which closed down a while back and have been looking for a new spot to replace it ever since. I would say that as of right now this is taking that spot. The decor in here is extravagant and fun. It's a good sized place but it was filling up so fast and we got there at 5:00pm. The service was fast and friendly. Started with margaritas because duh. I got the tamarindo and this is the smaller size in the picture. This had great taste and turned my initial opinion around from what I formulated from the taste of the complimentary chips and salsa, which were very underwhelming. The entrees came out fast and portions are a good size. Food had great quality and taste. The menu is large so options available for everyone. My birria tacos hit the spot. Tried this Mexican restaurant in Clearwater and really enjoyed my visit. The tacos de pastor were not my favorite, but their asado tacos were on another level. They were packed with flavor, had great texture, and were easily the best part of the meal. The sides of rice and beans were warm, comforting, and paired well with the tacos. The chips were thicker and heavier than the usual, so they didn't break. The rice and beans were above average, but the burrito was great! It had a white sauce on the top that I'd never experienced anywhere else. It's difficult to describe, so I recommend you try it and decide for yourself. We have visited this place twice. Both times the staff was not attentive and not organized. Our waiter didn't seem to understand English and ended up bringing us the wrong meals. They kindly let him know that instead of trying to fix it, he tried to argue. I got the pollo hidalgo, which was loaded with the veggies and had a light amount of queso, which was perfect. The tortillas with it were warm and soft, and I was obsessed with the rice! It's so fluffy and flavorful. The service was great and the inside is very fun, with lots of things happening at all times. Some people near us ordered the flight, and with that the servers all come out and do a whole dance. Told us about the specials took our drink order came back with all of that even my four limes that most servers forget. She took our order. One of the orders came back with yellow rice instead of white rice was willing to take it back to change it. She said it is my pleasure and my responsibility to make sure that everything comes out exactly the way you ordered it and looks amazing. She was a great server and also the other staff that brought out our food was amazing too. The restaurant decor was all Mexican artist which was so cool to look at who they they were.
