Busy, interesting, good service, good food. They have an extensive vegetarian (separate on request) menu that is quite well done and diverse. A bit noisy and small, but quality of food overshadows that. Friends who ordered from the carnivore menu agreed on quality. Definitely on our list when we visit Appleton. read more

Im very disappointed with the service we received today. We were seated promptly and told our server would be right with us. We sat there for 15 min with the server looking at us and then walking past us to serve 2 other tables multiple times. Neither she or the man who sat us came to ask about drinks or anything. They just stood near the kitchen talking for most of the time that we sat there. We felt very ignored so we decided to just leave and go to Mi Casa instead. read more

Great atmosphere, great food, and vegetarian friendly! We sat outside, but I recommend sitting inside because the College Ave traffic was annoying. Besides, the interior is very well done! As a veg-head, I ordered a la carte and the sopes were my favorite. Nopalitos and Queso Fresco were my options, I think. My husband really enjoyed his chilaquiles too! The food was wonderful, but the service was SUPERB! We were celebrating a birthday last night and wandered in off the Avenue on a whim not long before closing. Servers and staff moved tables together to accommodate for our number and took very good care of us. LOVE this restaurant! One thing that I love (that separates it from other Mexican restaurants in the area) is the variety of margarita options that they have. I crave their spicy jalapeño margarita - it is delicious and refreshing! I also love the vibe of this place - cool decor and super friendly staff and management. Fernando (one of the owners) does a great job getting to know his customers and making sure they enjoy themselves. The food here is also delish-i don't remember the name of the dish but i know that the pork was juicy and flavorful. This is one of my favorites in the valley! read more

My husband and I went here on a Monday night and it was still pretty busy. I can see where it would be difficult to get seating during "prime hours." The food was excellent. Great quality and large portions. I ordered the burrito and took 2/3rds of it home. I will easily eat off of this meal the next two days. We decided to see what all the hype was about with this restaurant. I am giving it a 2 for taste, 3-4 for presentation and a 4 for service. I had heard the table side guacamole was to die for so we ordered a serving of that. It was too nice to sit inside, however, so outside we went. You can have table side guacamole but it's made inside and brought out. We were served chips with mild and spicy/hot salsas and bean dip. Probably the best thing of the night. The chips are plain, not salted but substantial thickness and crispy almost like a fried pita chip. We ordered the table side guacamole with our drinks but it took 15-20 minutes before we saw it. The funny part, a couple that literally just sat down had theirs arrive with ours! It was very cold and made me question the handmade just now thought. It had a smooth consistency and barely any flavor. It could have used some garlic and salt, just any spice would have been nice. We ordered the 3 tacos with ground beef and the fish tacos marinated in chipotle. The server told us the fish tacos were a BIT spicy. Anything in chipotle is going to be hotter than hell! Hopefully he doesn't tell people that can't tolerate spicy that it's a BIT spicy all the time! Again, it took quite a long time for food to arrive. The ground beef tacos were EXTREMELY bland and the ground beef was really dry. I took what we had left of the salsas and tried to dress it up and it still didn't help. It just really needed a sauce to dress it up. I didn't ask for taco sauce or hot sauce because I really feel i shouldn't have to add sauces to make a dish taste like it should have from the beginning. Plus, we didn't see our server for quite a while after we started eating. The fish tacos were, of course, very spicy but at least had flavor. No one ordered a margarita, and I wish I would have so I could have reviewed that also. My expectations for a Mexican restaurant are very high and I expect a great margarita and a dish that is flavorful with hitting low, medium and high notes. There are two many "authentic Mexican" restaurants out there that just throw some meat and beans and sauce together and expect people to like it. I will have to give them another try or find out what meal is exactly the favorite of the mass and try that. The server was very nice but we didn't see him much. One person in our party had to wait for a bit to eat because it took quite a bit for drinks to come. read more

The food was amazing. The seating was atrocious. I've never been to a restaurant with chairs this uncomfortable. They are metal, backless stools. I went their yesterday and my leg still feels out of whack. The tables also wiggled like crazy, making it difficult to eat. EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE!!! Arrived around 7pm, sat down, and ten minutes later someone finally came by. Drinks took about 15 minutes to get to us and we were right next to the bar! Appetizer was extremely late and so was the food. We had to constantly wave down our server for service and didn't even get water until after our food arrived. I ordered a steak fajita quesadilla and got chicken (oh well) and was let down with what was plated. The only reason we picked this places is because I wanted cactus. The wait staff were nice but we're not accommodating to food I wanted to add to my quesadilla. The cactus was good but the restaurant was freezing the quesadilla was mediocre and the salsa they give you is not the best. July 29th. They are open till 10 pm on Wednesdays.. I called at 930 and asked if I could order something for CARRY OUT. I was told that I couldn't because the kitchen was closing in about 10 minutes....um..ok. guess they didn't want my business. It says youre open till 10. And you just admitted your kitchen was still open. Bummer cause I really liked their food but I will not be going back after this. read more

My husband and I ate here twice since they've been open. We had brunch one Saturday and it was very good, I liked the breakfast tacos, they were light. I had the chicken rice bowl for lunch and it was AWESOME, I'd definitely get that again. My husband had a variety of gorditas including pork, pork skin, and cactus, which were good. Our server came to the table 4 times in total (greet- bill). We needed napkins and to order drinks for late comers in out group and out server was nowhere to be found. Brunch served daily until 2:30 so we enjoyed Huevos Rancheros (some of the best most fresh I've ever enjoyed) and the egg torta, which was perfectly concocted with peppers, avocado and cheese. Stopped in after looking for apartments for my daughter. We fell in love with the place. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere with great food and and friendly workers. Tried it a few times, both nights for dinner we waited over an hour before we could eat hearing the same 'kitchen is super busy tonight' each time. Last time we gave them another shot they brought out a half-prepped meal that was inedible so had to return to the kitchen after waiting for an hour to eat. Ended up not getting dinner and had to share food with the rest of the table. Then they messed up our checks. Unfortunately we won't be returning. Can get comparable food at less cost, faster, and bigger portions at other great restaurants close by. read more
