    Cheese tasting on a boat!
    Gurpreet L.

I was already head over heels for the class experience at their Hyde Park location but then saw that they offered cheese cruises! I wish I could give them 10 start for I had so much fun (and so much wine). The pairings were delicious, the hosts were fabulous, the wine was flowing, and the views were to die for. I can't wait for my next cheese

These chocolates are local to Austin, and they have a gelato place too.

Cheese glorious cheese. Antonelli's has such a large selection of quality cheesy cheese. This is a small family run, local, cheese shop, but it packs a lot inside. They have wine, jams/jelly/preserves. Chocolates, and olives. They also have premade charcuterie boards too. When I came, they were giving away free cheese everyday of the week. The first 100 people that were in line. Free cheese? Yes please. As you can imagine, there was a long line of people waiting, and with the store being small, we were sent in in small groups. Couple people come out, couple people go in. As the line shortens and you get to the counter. You're given your free cheese, and asked what type of cheese you like. I gave my favorites, soft cheese, like brie, hard cheese, like manchego I like spicy cheese like hatched chili cheese or a jalapeño cheese. So after giving some examples of cheese that I like the gentleman helping me brought out three different samples and we tried them together and loved every one of them so I chose which ones I liked out of the three and then we moved down the counter a little bit, and the gentleman brought out another selection of three cheeses, and I tried those and told him which ones I liked, and they were all phenomenal. The gentleman that helped me was very attentive. He listened. he gave examples exactly what I was asking for and it was absolutely beautiful experience. even though they were packed and crazy and had 100 people waiting outside. He just treated me like we were just one on one. He took his time with me. I thought it was such a spectacular experience very personable. I walked out with 5 different cheeses. A bar of orange chocolate with dried cherries. And a baguette. And let me tell you, I ate so good during our Texas ice storm 2026! So here's the down side. Parking. There are like 8 parking spots in front. And a couple parking in the back. But beyond the back, there is a small pay with a QR code parking. It's a bit of a struggle as far as parking goes. There is no street parking. But I'm sure when you're not dealing with 100 customers it's not as much of a struggle. There are 2 accessible parking spots out front. Had a great experience. And will come back again.

OMCheese! Whenever we're having a gathering or need to take something to a party, this is where we come for all things cheese. Heck, this is where we come when we just want to eat cheese on the car ride home. I kid you not. They are hands down some of the best cheese experts I have ever come across. I love that they are able to provide so much detail about every product they have. The region it's from, how it's made, what pairs best, everything you need to know about cheese, they can tell you. Quality, quality, quality. The shop is super cute and welcoming. It makes me feel like I am back in France.

I stopped by for the first time today--and wow, they have incredible cheese! Stephanie was amazing. She greeted us right away and asked if we were looking for anything specific. We weren't, really, but she smiled and said, "No pressure," letting us know we were welcome to sample anything that caught our eye. And yes, we definitely found some standouts. Every cheese I tried was legit--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. I had a few favorites, some imported from Europe and others from domestic farms. Each one had amazing texture and depth. They also have little sample bites ready to go in the display fridge just to the left of the entrance, and they're happy to cut small portions if that's what you need. It's a super friendly, professional place--and absolutely worth a visit if you love good cheese.

Took part in the cheese tasting for "taste of the holidays" and had a great experience. I loved the set up inside but we were put in the annex area and I feel that took away from the experience a little as it was right by the bathroom and away from most of the other people. I'd suggest booking fewer people. But the tasting itself was amazing - the folks were super knowledgeable about the cheese and the pairings and love the wine options available as an add on. I would definitely come back for another one!

We did the signature cheese tasting with wine pairing and it was delicious! Ample parking and really nice space. All of the pairings were wonderful and super good cheeses. The staff was very knowledgeable and able to accommodate dietary restrictions as well! We left super full so you definitely get a ton of food, and they give to-go boxes at the end if you can't finish it all :) definitely recommend for a fun night in Austin!

Such an incredible experience! Antonelli's cheese tasting was the perfect mix of fun and education. The hosts were engaging, knowledgeable, and made the whole evening feel so welcoming. We not only learned a ton about cheese, but also met some amazing people along the way. It felt intimate, well-curated, and genuinely memorable. Highly recommend for a unique night out in Austin!

Went here over the Christmas holidays with my fam and we had a great time! Off the bat they have two locations across the street from each other. One is a store and the other for their tastings. It was BYOB with free corkage and so we walked across the street to the store and grabbed a nice bottle of wine. We went for the cheese and food pairing and it was a full house. There was one 'host' who talked about the pairings and the history and then left you to eat at your own pace. I liked the setup. There was no rush and we truly got to learn about the cheeses we were eating. We got so full that we had to box up the rest for later, which I also like that they do. Overall, amazing experience and I would say worth the money.

The people working there are amazing!! They answered all of our questions and offered us many samples to choose from. We really enjoy all of their selections. Our favorite cheese shop for sure!

We had the most wonderful experience at Antonelli's Cheese House in Hyde Park the other night. From the moment we arrived, the storefront was charming and inviting, and the staff immediately made us feel welcome, seating us promptly at our assigned table. The tasting was sold out with about 30 guests, yet it felt intimate and relaxed. Two incredibly knowledgeable and engaging women guided us through the experience, introducing an impressive lineup of cheeses--goat, sheep, and cow, cave-aged and reserve selections, and cheeses from the Netherlands, France, and even Fredericksburg. It was fun, informative, and completely over the top in the best way. I can't recommend it enough for a date night, girls' night out, or even a unique team-building experience. We loved every minute and absolutely plan to go back.

    Do they ship?

Yes they ship. See website. But the important part is the experience of being there, the people, samples, etc. then go next door to Uncle Nicky's for a Negroni.

Are masks still required to walk in?

Hey Melanie! Thank you for asking, like you we are excited that we are now in Stage 4 and slowly getting closer to "normal". That being said we do still require masks to enter the cheese shop for the safety of our awesome employees. Thanks so much!

Up until it's final day Rebel Cheese has been excellent in food, atmosphere, and service. The space was always clean and there were plenty of foodstuffs to peruse in their store. Being a mail order customer isn't for the faint of wallet because it makes sense to order at least six cheeses at a time, and that's not a small amount of money. Trying to factor in the timing is also part of the experience. Some of their cheeses can be frozen, and some are recommended to not be, like the brie. They recommend consuming the cheeses within 7 days of opening. It's just my husband and me in the household, so finishing a whole package of cheese in a week's time could be daunting. Speaking of the brie, it wasn't my favorite of the selection I received, which was a curated collection of Lorie's from Shark Tank. When we first got the delivery Dear Hubby and I set up a charcuterie tray for ourselves as a late lunch / early dinner. So many wonderful tastes! It was a delightful experience to mix the cheeses with crackers, salamis, Mediterranean olives, and fruit / jam. The sweet chevre offering was divine. Might have been my favorite. We opened four of the cheeses to sample them and left two for later. It's been wonderful for me to have better vegan cheeses than what the local grocery stores tend to stock. Real flavor! Real creaminess! With the holidays approaching, I'm considering when to place another order to carry me through the time when having special cheese would add to the edible side of the season.

All the wines are made in Texas. Everything is local. The grains are local, the olive oil is local. The fats and butter come from locally raised animals. Creativity thrives under constraints, and these constraints make everything Dai Due stands for a strong selling point to me. This leads to an ever-changing menu based on the season's harvest and what's accessible in Texas. Okra is abundant in the Texas summer, so they got okra options. That's the gist of Dai Due. They are capital L local, and they're proud of it. We threw a 5:30 pm reservation down a few weeks prior to get a nice meal before our concert at the Moody Center across the highway. We arrived right at the start of our reservation time to a full parking lot. One thing they mention on the reservation page is to be warned of their small parking lot. Luckily, a guy was leaving as we pulled in, so we nabbed a spot. Once we walked in, we were seated pretty instantaneously. On their one-page menu, there were plenty of delicious options of appetizers, mains, and sides, plus the back containing wine, beer, and other drink options. I ordered the Meanwhile Brewing German-Style Pilsner on draft while my girlfriend ordered a glass of the Vermentino from Duchman Family Winery. For starters, we split an order of their Parisa. Parisa originates from the Medina County region, where my parents live, so I am quite familiar with Parisa. For those unaware, it's a ground beef delicacy (which usually means it's gonna be something peculiar and quirky in my opinion) made with raw beef, cheese, jalapeños, and lime juice. I've eaten my fair share of it while visiting, and it's usually served with traditional saltine crackers. Here at Dai Due, it's served with homemade tortilla chips. The Parisa here was way fresher than the kind I buy off the shelf at Dzuik's, as I could tell from the redness of the meat. Here, it was served with grated cheddar cheese, jalapeños, and diced onions, and presumably lime juice. It was delectable and was like a steak tartare with ten times more personality. It was probably some of the best Parisa I've had, and I've had it from the source. For our mains, I ordered the Wild Boar Confit while my girlfriend got their Spicy Aoudad Meatball Skewers. We got a side of their grilled okra to complement our meals. Honestly, the pace of how the food came out was sharp. There was never a lull moment, and it felt like once we finished our appetizer, our mains were coming out. The Wild Boar Confit was truly exceptional. The watermelon flavors on it were subtle but added a lot of character. On top of the brick of glory was fresh dill, jalapeños, mint, and a watermelon rind relish. It was really special. The confit really tasted like an upscaled and earthier short rib, packed with more flavors in the meat. It was so exquisite that after I gave my girlfriend a bite to try, she immediately decided that we would swap plates. It wasn't an ask. I couldn't negotiate. She made the executive business decision regardless of what the other shareholders at the table (me) felt. My fate was sealed. I would be eating the... Spicy Aoudad Meatball Skewers. I confuse ovine meats sometimes. An Aoudad is a wild goat-sheep. They were served on wood skewers with a chile yogurt sauce that was creamy but didn't hesitate to add an extra touch of heat. The cucumbers on the side were the only way to counteract the heat of the course and the morita salsa served with the Aoudad. The Aoudad was very flavorful, and the heat was manageable, but still strong enough to claim the spicy in its name. Sometimes spicy feels like they just mean peppery, and this obviously is NOT that. We ultimately had a 50/50 split of both meals, which allowed us to try more of what Dai Due had to offer. The side of the grilled okra was a much-needed differentiation from the intense levels of meat consumption we had, and balanced it with some much-needed fiber and digestion support. The pickled peanuts were a first for me, as they were almost like chickpeas in terms of texture. The curry mayonnaise was light but a nice touch to the sweet and almost nutty flavor of the okra. To close, my girlfriend got a glass of Valkyrie's Kiss's Blackberry Gold Mead, which was a nice closer to our great meal. Through the entire visit, the service was exceptional. The space is incredibly clean and comfortable, and they had a great playlist of music running on the speakers. We'll have to come back in another season and experiment with more of their spring or winter options. Dai Due is to die for! RIYL: A one-of-a-kind, locally-sourced meal down to the atom.

That being said, I have given you a little teaser. Now, look at their website to find stores which distribute their goods. How the heck is this cheese, you ask? It is not bad. Though I found the cheeses to be very one-noted and dry, they were definitely rich--this being the result of utilizing the feed for babies from well-treated cattle. The Especial, Seco, and Classico are all similar in texture, flavor, and overall character. In fact, they are not easily distinguished from one another. They would do fine as a secondary ingredient in a simple dish, such as tacos or quesadillas, but they wouldn't hold up to wine or serve well in a grilled cheese. For the latter 2 items, I would go with their Cheddars, which have a bit more bite. They have a wide selection as compared to other cheeseries in the Austin area, as many seem to really just go after the goat cheese fanatics. Nothing too crazy in terms of production and variety here, but give them a shot. The fermented dairy comes from Texas after all. The people who work here are also super awesome and are ready to take care of you when you have questions or concerns about where your cheese is going. Hehe.. you pay cheese for cheese.
