We were in a great hurry but we wanted to enjoy a sit down brunch. We walk in, get seated and then our server Aubrey came over to address us. We explain that we were in a hurry and that we need to order, eat and head out. Aubrey explains that their cooks are fast. We proceed to order, my son ordered the Antonia's Chocolate Chip Pancakes and an order of hashbrowns and I ordered the Chef's Special Skillet. I'll tell you, by the time I had taken a picture of all 6 pages of the menu our food was served. WOW, she wasn't lying and they understood the assignment. The food was fantastic, I think there should have been a bit more hashbrowns, but ultimately this meal was wonderful. I love the American flag on the wall and think it's pretty cool that the restaurant uses both of their doors for entry / exit. Our visit was all around a great one. read more

Medicine typical breakfast place. The waitress was fast and efficient but the food wasn't anything special that I couldn't get somewhere else that would be better. The inside is a bit dated as well. The staff alone make this place as well as the great owner who makes a great example. The food is delicious they have fast, kind, and detailed service. This used to be a good place to eat and had such good omelets, big, thick and stuffed with ingredients...not any more. I had breakfast there yesterday, and my asparagus omelet consisted of a thin egg pancake, folded over a tiny piece of cheese and topped with some chopped asparagus. That is not an omelet. One piece of toast was well toasted and buttered, the second piece was white with a dab of butter in the middle. They are giving you less and charging you more. Skillets no longer are made with 3 eggs, but now 2. But guess what, prices are up. Oh, and the snarky server is not as amusing as he thinks he is. This isn't Ed Debevic's. Stopped here for bunch while visiting Wisconsin for work. Please is busy as expected Sunday morning but I was immediately attended to and given a table. Working a second waitress with coffee appeared and she was really polite and professional. Menu is large and very interesting. I opted out for sizzling skillet - Green Bay packers one and it was very delicious. It also came with two tasty pancakes. Service is fast for a place that is so busy. He even treated our family to the meal as a generous gift! Kids meal! Is the best deal. The chocolate pancakes are delicious with the chocolate chips. Relating to COVID: no mask for entry, but the workers are wearing masks which help. I'm always a fan of the traditional eggs Benedict so I wanted to try this fun spin on the original. It was tasty! And the portion was large, but surprisingly I managed to eat the whole thing. The eggs were very slightly overdone for my taste on an eggs Benedict; I prefer a runny yolk to run down my bread, or biscuit in this case, but just a minor preference. What was a deal breaker was being charged $6.99 for a biscuit covered in gravy, couldn't find the sausage in gravy. Also the surcharge, 4% for using a debit or credit card. If you're going to do that cash customers should get a 4% discount. I will not be back. It's just not that good. read more

I was happy to find the owners of the old Squire restaurant in Antioch. The food was great. Service was outstanding. Prices were amazing. Under $5 for my favorite meal. Bacon was a little like cardboard, though. It almost seemed like the pre-cooked Oscar Meyer bacon at the store. It was perfectly flat. EGG-CELLENT A few months ago this location got a new name and a sign that said "under new owners". At first, I wasn't sure about this place. The old location was called "The Promised Land" and it was just terrible. In fact, we last stepped foot in here to eat about 10 years ago. So much for it being Promised. It was Sunday morning and we woke up with an empty fridge. We laid in bed and started working the Yelp App. Where were we going to eat? We kept going back and forth, then when my wife suggested we go here. We were definitely going into uncharted territory considering no one had ever reviewed this restaurant. We pulled into the parking lot at 8am and there was only one car in the lot. My wife suggested we could go somewhere else. I looked at her and said "I'm parked, were going in." We walked in and all the waitresses were wearing football jerseys. I joked with my wife and said, "Please give us a Bears Waitress!" Luckily we got a Bear, so that made me feel good. Our waitress was also really nice too. She was very patient with us as we studied the menu. She kept checking on us and after her third visit back we finally were ready to order. I must tell you that the prices are great and the portions are even bigger. If you're looking for a decent quality breakfast, then this is the place. I ordered the House Omelette which had ham, peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheddar & mozzarella cheese. It also came with mushrooms but I asked to have those omitted. I'm not really a mushroom fan. It also came with hash browns, which I ordered crispy and I also had a choice of pancakes or toast. Personally pancakes always wins that battle for me. That was a lot of food for just $7.75. The rest of my crew ordered a Skillet breakfast that was loaded with hash browns, veggies & eggs. Again there was a choice of pancakes or toast. And pancakes took a commanding 2-0 lead. Sorry toast but your toast. My little one got a feast for $3.75. She got two sunny side eggs, 2 bacon, hash browns and toast. That's the best deal ever. I want a kids meal next time. Pancakes wasn't offered as choice for the kids meal, even though the little one tried claiming one of the two side pancake plates as part of her breakfast. Smart kid! Our food arrived very quickly. I also want to note that the restaurant was starting to fill up slowly. We may have been one of the first ones in but we weren't alone anymore. My breakfast was really good. I ate my hash browns first and they were they way I like them. I then moved on to my pancakes and enjoyed every bite. Finally I moved on to the my omelette and it was delicious. I loved at how fluffy and juicy it was on the inside. It was cooked perfectly. I'm very picky when it comes to breakfast because I'm the family breakfast chef but I will gladly hand over my frying pan to the cooks here any morning. My wives skillet was really good. She gave me 3 bites. I was really surprised she was sharing it with me because it was very good. My little one was very quiet which is a sign that the food is good. A silent kid at the table is a happy kid. She really wants a Yelp account and after eating her breakfast she would give this place 5 stars. We didn't meet the cooks but we were able to see them cooking in the kitchen. One of them gave us a smile and a wave as we left. I thought that was really cute. We also stopped to talk to the owner,Spiro. I wanted to tell him how happy I was he opened up his restaurant here. He seemed a little quiet at first. I think he thought I was going to complain. I told him I'm sure everyone only tells him bad things but today I was going to tell him nice things. He seemed to crack a smile. He then opened up to us and was really proud to tell us he bought the building, installed new carpeting, put on a new roof & upgraded with a new kitchen. We also learned that he owned Squire Restaurant in Antioch, IL for 24 years but was forced out of his business when Walgreens bought the land. Again corporate greed wins over family business. Walgreens already had a location across the street which now sits vacant. So Antioch's loss is Paddock Lakes gain. It took me 10 years but I've finally found the Promised Land and its Antonia's Pancake House. Such a great addition to the town and welcome to the hood. read more

This was a go to place for us but since owners changed they now impose a 4% fee for the privilege of using your credit card. Welcome to 1999. It's a petty way of doing business in my opinion but what do I know. Food is decent and servers are friendly but that fee really turned me off. The food is mediocre, but the service really sucks. My husband and I got seated waitress brings coffee then some locals got seated next to us. Long story short, the locals were ordering and eating before us. Waitress never paid attention to our needs never even listened to the order. Brought out the wrong toast, forgot our orange juice, but chatted it up next to us with the regulars. I guess there is a reason we never come in here. Service is still lousy after all these years.
