WOW! So good, being from the east coast I love a good sub and this man knows what's up! Everything was phenomenal and the customer service was on point too. Mike hooked me up with some sweet peppers and I gotta say I'm glad he did, they were a nice lil treat. My partner is a self proclaimed cheese steak connoisseur & he gives this bad boy a 9.5/10. If you blink you'll miss it. This place looks bare inside, it sounds like a hibachi grill, and smells like a toasted sammy, but don't sleep on this little sub spot. It reminds me of a sub spot in New York. All the love goes into the food. The guy on the grill is serious about service. This is a really small shop and very minimal layout. It is usually quiet inside on occasion I have seen them get slammed. Though I usually have their Cheese Steak with hot sauce. Man, hits well. The portions are larger than most for all their subs whether it is Hot Subs or Cold Cuts. Crispy lettuce, crispy onions (you can get them cooked too), fresh tomatoes too for the cold cuts. Really refreshing and always worth dinning in if you wanted some quiet spot while eating. When they take your order they are always friendly and nice. They are all good, but my favorites are in order, the Roast Beef that is cooked to perfection in house! The Turkey is as good as they get, and the Italian is just hard to beat! They offer other items as well! They have chips from Lay's and Zapp's to go with your sandwiches as well as drinks. The service here is first rate and it's usually Mike the owner that will wait on you unless he's busy. Everyone is always friendly and outgoing, and ready to help you!!! It's not a very big place, but not enough to have a place to sit if you want to eat your sandwich here! Now, I haven't been in here in two years since I retired from a local plant. I stopped in to grab lunch on my way home from work. It was a bit after lunch time, so I was the only one there. I assume it was the owner who promptly took my order and built my tuna sub. It took up the entire to go box and weighed 5 pounds, i swear. It was delicious and so much more food than I really need. I may try the salad version next time :). Great service. Great food. Ive probably driven by this place well over a 1000 times and never knew it was here. My wife and I wanted something new and I yelped and found this hidden gem. I'm not a very big sandwich person but I love cheesesteaks. Interior and menu are very plain but also very clean. I was surprised that there was only one employee working. He was extra my nice and friendly, I'm guessing he was the owner by the way he treated all of his customers. A+ for him. It's hard to find a place around here that employees are friendly and give good service in becuse most are chains and people are just their for a paycheck, but if he don't own this place I'd be shocked and say pay him more. I was impressed that while he was making my order others walked in and he know what they wanted and exactly how they wanted it with substitutions. That's signs of a great owner. My wife ordered the roast beef and as I was watching him make the sandwich I was thinking my god how much more can he put on the sandwich. She loves it. I had a hard time picking. Being the 1st time in a place I always do becuse if I don't like the 1st try I more than Likely won't be back to try other stuff. I got a small cheese stack and a small meatball. Both were delicious and I'm gonna have a hard time picking the next time I go or I might try other. The bread is soft and tasty. The steak was juicy and abundant, next time I will ask for extra cheese becuse there was so much meat I could not tell there was any cheese but that's my only minor complaint. The meatball was also amazing. Have not had one this good in a long time. I'd be willing to bet those meatballs are homemade and have never seen a bag and that's what set this sandwich above others I've had. These are great subs! They have the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had in Texas and I've looked for a good one. They're loaded with grilled sirloin, provolone, grilled onions and giardinera. The sandwiches are as large as a Subway footlong and ten times as good. The Italian and the turkey were also fantastic. They're well worth the price and the people working there are so friendly. First, a very nice, good looking man helped me. I'm assuming he's the owner. I ordered a large cheesesteak and a large roast beef for 4 of us. Brought the sandwiches home and we all tried both. The cheesesteak was phenomenal. The bread was so fresh and the cheesesteak was seasoned perfectly. This is definitely the best cheesesteak I've ever had. Not even one crumb was left. The roast beef was just as good. Perfect amount of condiments, perfectly cooked roast beef. Match that up with the best bread ever, you have yourself a winning combination. Both sandwiches were impeccably prepared. No skimping on anything. Very reasonably priced. There's no question, this is the best food I've had in Texas City. It is actually the most pricy sub in the shop at $6 for a small. The meatball is good, herb-y, meat falls apart easily, but if you're not a big fan of ground beef, it may get boring after a few bites. Great meat to bun ratio though. read more
