Great as always…read more While we've eaten at Kelley's when in this area in the past, this is the first time we've eaten at this location. It was about 6:30 pm on a Friday night. Our server was a bit tired as it was near the end of her shift. Yet, she was pleasant and accommodating. We ordered our drinks and they came right away. We then ordered our meals as follows: - Breakfast Tacos and Hashbrowns (shared by my wife and I) - Baked Potato - Loaded (shared by my wife and I) - Chicken Fried Steak (Friday Special) with 3 Vegetable sides (shared by our friend and his wife) - Baked Potato - Loaded plus extra butter (shared by our friend and his wife) The food took about 10 minutes to come out. And wow - so much food! First, the baked potatoes. I mean, c'mon man! These were hands-down, the largest backed potatoes any of us have ever seen and we've been around. They were served but open, lengthwise and flattened out, then loaded with toppings. They came on a 13" of so oval platter and I'd say the spuds were about 9 to 10 inches long. HUGE! And they were cooked to velvety smooth creaminess. We just loved them. Our friends enjoyed their Chicken Fried Steak and side. The sides were quite large. At least 8 ounces each. My wife and I also enjoyed our Breakfast Tacos. We were so full, we didn't eat the hasbrown potatoes, but we brought them to the hotel and may reheat them in the morning. If you've never been to Kelley's just south of Houston, check them out. They have 7 locations. The food is decent and the portions are generally large and the value is great. While we didn't have them today, we've had their Onion Rings before and they are amazing. Looking forward to our next meal at Kelley's!

My husband had chicken fried steak and eggs. The portions are gigantic. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. Lots of locals were in the restaurant so you know it was good. Definitely will come back again. The prices were so inexpensive as well. Too bad I was traveling because I couldn't eat the whole thing.

The Waffle House located on Palmer in Texas City takes the cake. My go-to Waffle House order is the "All-Star". The All Star consists of two eggs, toast, grits or hash, a waffle and your choice of a breakfast protein (bacon, sausage patty or ham). The dining space is designed for small parties of less than 4, while the bar is always open as first come, first served. I sat at the bar, and though I'm typically apathetic to it, I have to say, it may be the best seat in the house. Watching the employees in action felt like watching a well-rehearsed performance. As one shouts the orders, the others work at their respective spots to ensure everything is done quickly and correctly. Not only were they impressively efficient, but they also had a smile every time they worked with customers.

The staff were very welcoming. Although the place was pretty empty the staff was having a good time while listening to Christmas music. My food was pretty good and fresh. I gave them 4 stars because I saw 1 or 2 dirty tables. Due to them not having any customers at the time, I assumed all the tables would be cleared and clean. Besides that everything was good.

I ended up getting a hamburger which was expensive for the item you're getting but expected. When getting it, I was so disappointed that this burger looked sad. The bread was flat and tasted old, the meat was dry with no flavor, and the ingredients were lacking. There was just one small lettuce, one slice of tomato, and three strips of red onion. It was honestly just a rip off and I actually regretted getting it. There wasn't even any sauce or anything added to it too, though you can get ketchup and mustard in any of the ordering booth.

Average price: ~10-12/meal Advice: members get 10% off Ambience: It's pretty cool to eat here. It's a cafeteria sort of atmosphere. But cool because you're around all this space stuff. Very convenient too if you want to just grab something fast and then get back to your activities at the space center. Very family friendly. Food: Mostly fast food type of stuff. They have sandwiches and salads too though. Average taste but about what you would expect. Nothing wrong with it. Service: The best thing about them is that they are fast! I love that when I want to get on to my activities. I also liked that they have lots of condiments and serve your own drinks at the soda fountain. Free refills too! Value: Well, it's expensive, but what do you expect? Not too much more than I thought.

They had a lot of daily specials to choose from. We both ordered from the brunch menu. I ordered The Alamo. I've been wanting to try Main St. Bistro, so when my sister suggested it for Easter, I was down. We had a party of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids). We got there around 1:00 on Easter Sunday & didn't have to wait long even though it was busy. A man took our drink order. My brother-in-law asked to go ahead & order two appetizers. Our waitress, Natalie, came shortly after, introduced herself & confirmed the appetizers. We were brought 4 small cubes of banana bread, which felt weird since there were 7 of us. My toddler & my niece both had a whole one. The other two were split between 4 adults. My brother-in-law didn't have any. The appetizers came out fairly quickly & were gone just as fast. We finally ordered right at 2:00 after a little wait & indecisiveness. Then my son was done sitting in a highchair. My husband and brother-in-law took the kids outside. They played for a bit & walked two laps around the whole strip center. They came back, still no food. My son had a complete meltdown since he was both hungry & now tired, my brother-in-law asked if there was any way they could just rush my son's food. They did and he started eating, everyone was so hungry that they had some bites of his food as well. My mom went to ask the manager if our food was close to being ready. The answer was no, there was a whole list of orders ahead of ours. The manager was kind enough to bring us some spinach dip & apologized for the wait, explaining she was dreading today because the kitchen wasn't equipped for the Easter crowd. She assured us that they were working as fast as possible & we appreciated her honesty & effort. My mom went to her car & asked us to let her know when her food came. Our food finally started arriving at 3:17, and not all at once. My sister's meal came last. By this time my son was done & was getting restless while we had JUST started eating. The food itself was disappointing. My sister and I both ordered Benedicts. Mine (Boudin Benny) wasn't hot and was mushy instead of seared. Both of our poached eggs were undercooked. My sister's also had a large amount of cream cheese that wasn't listed and didn't taste good. Other issues: my mom's fries were cold, my brother-in-law said his chicken fried steak was no good. He ate it because he was hungry, and while my husband liked his sandwich & was happy with it, his fries were cold. My niece enjoyed her burger. My son's shrimp, fries, & macaroni were all hot and good... likely because they were rushed for him. It was 3:45 by the time we left. They close at 3. We received a 40% discount, but there was also a 20% automatic gratuity added, which some in our party didn't expect. Here's where they earn stars back... Natalie was great! She took great care of us & kept apologizing for the delay. We could tell that she felt bad, but it was not her fault. The manager also came by checking on us multiple times & got us settled as best she could. She brought us spinach dip while we waited & she made sure that my toddler got food very quickly after being asked about it. She did thank us multiple times for our kindness & patience. As did Natalie. I too, was appreciative of the kindness they showed us. Most of us have all worked in food service before & we understand that the wait staff can only do so much. We also understand being slammed in the kitchen & how fast paced they have to work in order to handle rushes. I appreciate the 40% discount... 20% after the tip. This review was based on one trip & I will update my review if/when I return. But this visit was definitely not a great experience & if it weren't for the kindness, I'd be leaving one star.
