Been a long time customer of the Texas City location near my house. Found myself in the Webster area for work, and figured I'd give this location a shot. Sub was good, not as great as the Texas city location, but still a quality sub. The issue was the service. Never have I ever experienced such rudeness from staff. Walking in (again, for the first time) I am greeted with a "what do you want" yell. I thought he was joking or messing around at first, but no, dude was serious. I give my order and try to pay. Another yell from him "you pay after you eat" ok, that works, too. All the while, the two other guys on duty are groaning about not having enough time to prepare for the day, complaining about customers on Saturdays, and more. I'm all for hole in the wall, simple no frills dining, but this place had an overall terrible, terrible vibe. I finish eating and go to pay. Guy barks orders at me on how to tap my card. I try different attempts, finally the card reader shows an error. Dude yells at me "LISTEN, OR THAT WILL HAPPEN". Turns out, his WiFi network wasn't on the whole time. Upon discovering this, in his defense he did apologize - but cmon dude. Shouldn't ever treat a customer like that. I slide my card and it works first try, after he turned the WiFi network on. I bumped my tip down from 22% to 18% and walked out. As I exit, I hear grumbles of complaints coming from the dude. Serious disappointment here. Never returning. I hate for one location to taint the other, but I can't say this makes me want to revisit my beloved Texas city location by my house any more, either. read more

This was our first time visiting this establishment. 10 out of a 10 highly recommend! When you walk in you order at the counter and pay at the register when you are finished eating like a normal restaurant. Anyhow, we walked in and were warmly greeted by the guys behind the counter. You can dine in or carry out, we dined in. I told them it was our first time there and he recommended my husband or I get the Italian sub. I had already decided that was the one I was going to get before entering anyways so that's what I went with & my husband got the cheese steak. After ordering we picked out drinks out of the cooler and a bag of chips to split. They offer Snapple, Gatorade, water, and a variety of sodas. Our sandwiches were delivered to our table within about 2-3 minutes of ordering. They were so good, I didn't think to take pictures but would highly recommend both. The entire vibe in the store feels like you're at a family members house. If you enjoy a good sub or sandwich give this place a shot, they are affordable and welcoming but most importantly delicious! read more

A friend of mine picked up us some sammies to eat at home. We each got the Italian sub and it did NOT disappoint. Lots of meat and other fillings. The bread was fresh. The small was plenty for me but would get a large for leftovers. Because, I mean, who doesn't love leftovers. Can't wait to try another sandwich here! read more

I was leaving the Clear Lake hospital about 1:30 PM after taking my brother into for test and being their since 5:30 AM without breakfast or lunch. So popped on Yelp to find a sandwich shop close by and grab a quick bite and Antonini's came up as the closest. I drove a few blocks over and found this nondescript "hole-in-the-wall", very small sandwich shops with a sign above it just stating "SUBS". I hesitate to go in but went with Yelp's 4-1/2 star review and decided to give them a try. Once you get inside it looks like family business that I recall from the 50's and 60's, with a couple gentlemen late in life making sandwiches one was make the cold subs while the other maned the grill make what looked like an Italian Beef hoagie. One of the gentlemen asked if I'd been there before and when I answered, "no", he was quick to recommend the "Italian Sub". I followed his recommendation and once I started eating my sandwich, I knew I'd made the right decision. It was the best sub sandwich I'd ever eaten , and I've eaten a lot over the past 74 years. A fresh sub bun was stuffed with fresh cold cuts, cheese, lettuce, tomato, peppers, with Oil and Vinegar dressing. It was outstanding and a real bargain for the price, the prices on their menu made me feel a flash back to 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I live in the Houston Memorial area 35 miles away, or maybe it's fortunately because I'd be there 2-3 days a week. After have Antoniis's Sub, I can never look at Subway, Jersey Mikes, Potbelly, etc. the same way again. Any of these would be a huge disappointment after experiencing Antonini's. My brother was admitted to the hospital and while it's terrible he's in the hospital, at least I'll be able to visit Antonini's a few more times when I'm visiting him. (And I'll probably figure out a way to smuggle him in a sub) read more

I wanted to love Antonini's, especially since they've been featured on The Texas Bucket List, but the food was a bit underwhelming for me. My friend recommended this place and warned me about the sign. The Antonini's sign is actually on the window; the main sign that is visible from the street just says "Subs." It's easy to pass if you're not paying attention. The restaurant is small and kind of a hole in the wall. I was sort of confused on the ordering process, because there's not a designated area to place your order. The owner told me that once I knew what I wanted, just shout it out. It's super casual and laid back for sure. I ended up ordering a small turkey sandwich with mayo. I had to wait a few minutes as they were working on a couple of orders ahead of me but it didn't take too long. The sandwich was very filling and the portion of turkey was very generous. I did like that the turkey was sliced thin. The sandwich could have used more mayo on it. My friend said she loves the spicy relish, but I didn't get any on my sandwich. It was a bit dry though and some extra mayo would have helped. Although the food didn't blow me away, the overall experience was fine and I would give Antonini's another try. read more

Subs really good and fresh. Seen on episode of Texas Bucket List. Was in area for a doctor appointment. Had to try and very good.

I don't know if I came in at a bad time or what but the service was subpar and the food was not something my husband and I could eat. The meatballs seemed old and the other sandwich was just oiled and plopped on. I tried the meat from the steak and it was tough and again seseemed old. I remember coming here years ago and it was a decent sandwich. Now it just seems like there isn't much care. $35 dollars just down the drain. read more

Welcoming staff and laidback atmosphere with self serve chips and drinks from the case. Sandwiches were amazing. I got the turkey and my husband got the Italian. Will try to come back during our visit to try the roast beef. read more

I don't know why I've never been here. I mean I've lived in this area forever and I've heard about this place but it just never worked out. Finally the other day I was close by and I was really hungry. So I stopped in and let me tell you the staff there was so amazing. They explained everything to me and how they made stuff and it's everything I want in a local spot. I got the meatball sub and I got the Italian. The meatball is in-house made meatballs and it's a one spicy meatball. Delicious. The Italian I got with light peppers that are diced finely but there is still a little bit spicy. Just how I like it perfect spicy. Loaded with meat and toppings and just one of the best sandwiches I've had in the last few years. Antonini's is an old school, East coast sub shop. Mike moved here from Delaware and brought the tasty sandwiches he grew up with to Webster for us all to enjoy. The two best items on the menu (for my wife and I) are the Cheesesteak sandwich (grilled steak, onions, cheese, and Italian cherry peppers) and the Italian sub (3 hams, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, peppers, oil & vinegar). Takes me home every time. The Meatballs & Cheese, Sausage & Peppers, Tuna, or Turkey sandwiches are always good choices. read more

I almost to post this review because I don't want people to ruin this local hoagie shop! They have great sandwiches, I mean all of them! The Philly Cheese is so good, their simple ham and turkey are good...it's the bread! It is not something that you find just anywhere. Plus the staff is always friendly and appreciates your business.
