Had dinner for a friend's birthday celebration, and we enjoyed it a lot! Servers are so nice! There is a ton of indoor seating for small and large groups. Ordered the sushi bento box, which was a great price! The fish was fresh and tasty. Also ordered a cocktail and sake bomb, which is always something fun to do in a group! Edo is one of our favorite restaurants and the price is reasonable. They have Kirin and Sapporo on tap and don't miss out on the Shrimp Shumai and the Gyoza. They offer quite a few sushi variations and you can watch them prepare your sashimi. The portions are huge, so be prepared to take half of it home with you. Excellent Udon too. read more

The mushroom soup was bland. Seemed like slightly seasoned water. My hibachi steak was overcooked. The ramen seemed to be the same noodle from the packaged ramen noodles and the fried chicken that was in it so so basic and seemed like frozen chicken breast. Best local Japanese Restaurant that serves good sushi both raw and cooked. Understandably, Sushi is not for everyone. They also have a variety of other dishes that are rather tasty like their Katsu Chicken if you are looking for something crispy. They have a selection of noodle dishes as well. Ambiance has changed a little since they first opened. It was wonderful because they played Japanese Music which added a lot of appeal to dinning in. Now they play american music or no music at all. Service is great as the staff are really friendly and they check on you periodically. Has been perfect service and food last time I went for a large party birthday group. I have been ordering from here for the past few years whenever I'm in the mood for hibachi or sushi. When I get hibachi, I usually get a kids meal because it is a decent amount of food and a little less pricey than the regular hibachi. This time, I ordered the hibachi chicken which comes with fried rice and mixed vegetables. On my order, I had a few special instructions which were to substitute the fried rice for steamed rice and no onions in the mixed vegetables. When I received my order I saw that those special instructions weren't followed and I actually had more onions than any other vegetable, which was very irritating. I thought that since I ordered online that maybe they weren't able to see my request but it was on the receipt so it seems like someone just ignored it. As for the taste of the food, it was okay. The chicken and vegetables were both swimming in liquid. I may not order from here again, or atleast not for awhile. read more

I have been here a few times pre-pandemic and we really liked it. Went again last night and had a table of 6 with 3 kids. Service was outstanding, I had the shrimp and asparagus roll, and a shrimp appetizer dish. Very tasty, several others had LSU roll and the Texas City Roll. The kids had chicken hibachi and chicken with udon. One chicken nugget order. We shared food and everything was fresh and delish. It was late so I didn't take pics or check in, but definitely will be back. I would have given 5 stars but one of the menus was extremely sticky and felt dirty, the table was also a bit sticky. I'm getting a handle on which Sushi rolls I like & do not like. So there's def a couple I like...for instance, I tried this Shaggy Dog @Sam's and it was REALLY good, so figured I'd try here & I also grabbed some veggie rice. So the rice was mushy and I could only take a couple of bites...the good thing is there were a lot of veggies without having to ask & it had nice heat (requested spicy). My big brother recommended Edo Japan, to me and a friend of ours. On the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall restaurant. but Edo Japan is nothing like that. Inside, it's very fancy, and has lovely Asian décor. The staff are wonderful, the place is very clean and pristine in detail. You can invite a whole party here, there's plenty of space. Every menu item is freshly cooked, with fresh ingredients. Their sushi menu is immense! My big brother and his wife are sushi fanatics, I'm sure they'd devour the whole sushi menu, if they could! Edo Japan has the BEST veggie fried rice I've ever had! Their Chicken Katsu is amazing! You can get a bento box made, but you can only choose what protein you want, the rest of the side dishes comes as is. Don't try their miso soup, it's gross! Edo Japan's prices are decent. Absolutely love this location. The freshness of the sushi, roll sizes, and service never fails to disappoint. Great sushi at great cost. Wife and I usually share the "3 Roll Special" and choose what we like. My go to rolls are the Akuma Roll and the TNT roll most times. But nothing has disappointed. Wow! Hidden gem. We ordered so much food and I'm so glad we were able to sample numerous items off the menu. Sooo many sushi rolls and all so delicious! I really couldn't pick a favorite. Loved the presentations on all the plates too. Along with what is pictured, we also got the crab rangoons (bit heavy on the cream cheese for me personally), and the dumplings. Yum yum and more yum. The only disappoint I had was with the cocktail list... Lots of sugary sweetness in them all. None sounded appealing. But they've got plenty other options for drinks. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. They offered free bowl of edamame (after 4:30pm) Ordered some Gyoza which was good. The hibachi chicken and steak was good. The chicken fried rice was ok but rice was on the mushy side. Had some California roll but it wasn't really good. Not sure if I'll go back. Fail! Got seated and waited in what seems to be forever. Nobody took our drink orders or food orders. But lo and behold someone comes in and they get served right away. Wouldn't know what the food/drink is like because we left. read more

Anna made this experience outstanding. Missed the lunch special but the combo rolls (tuna,salmon,shrimp) were on point. Ample meat in these roles. Added the combo appetizer chicken and shrimp tempura, fried tofu, and Rangoon. The sauces make it pop. Right price, kool little joint. read more

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first Japanese restaurant of its kind in Texas City. Its "GRAND OPENING" banner beckoned me to be one of its first customers so I gave it a whirl. The interior is nice and clean with an ambience meant for date nights. The waitstaff appears very friendly and helpful. Kat did a good job. About the food, I ordered the hibachi steak dinner with fried rice. Unfortunately, the steak -- which I had cooked medium rare -- and the rice were underwhelming flavor-wise. I did, however, enjoy the miso soup. Fighting a head cold and all, the soup was a lifesaver for me. I'm not ready to give up on Edo since it just opened. If anything, their sushi selection appears broad and diverse. Maybe I should go sushi the next time I come here. read more

Oh man.....man o man......you know those times when you like something so much that you overindulge and then you feel like your about to pop? Doesn't happen to me to often. But man that Texas City roll was the stuff! Now I don't wanna move. Texas City roll = crab, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayonnaise, and idk what else and then fried around the outside some how. But wow it's good. I ordered that and a Mars roll I think it was. But the Texas City Roll stoled the show. The TC roll is huge. 10 pieces. If I knew it was that big I would have ordered one roll. I tried some of my wife's Miso soup she ordered. Delicious! The two roll deal is a good price saves you a few bucks. I like the restaurant's ambiance. It's quiet. I like quiet. If you like sushi, come to Edo. If you like lo mein, come to Edo. If you like rice, hibachi, desserts, drinks.. com to Edo! They never fail to impress me. Their sushi presentation is always so pretty and the rolls are always fresh and delicious! I had the BEST gyoza (dumplings, potstickers) I've ever tasted when I went. They have pan seared or deep fried. I chose pan seared. When you bite into it, the outer texture is silky and soft. Not too doughy or overcooked.. they were perfect. I also get edamame, yum. The shaggy dog is a classic and delicious. The shrimp isn't small and the tail isn't left on so far that you have a problem trying to eat all of the shrimp. The tempura crumbs left on the plate always get cleaned up. Chicken fried rice is amazing, chicken lo mein is amazing and I'm sure anything else on the menu is just as amazing. You are not going to be disappointed with the prices either. read more

I like the fact that they serve edamame free and the service was good. We got seated and asked for our drink orders right away. I'm new to Texas City, and I'm so happy have found this jewel of a sushi location. I'm from the central coast of California so I'm always looking new sushi spots and this place brings me back to one of my favorite local spots in Long Beach where I went to college. You get a lot for what pay for my food was ready quickly but quality was not sacrificed. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly blended. I have celiac disease so I can't taste all the rolls but everything I've had so far doesn't leave me feeling left out or hungry and I can live vicariously through my husband ^_^ read more
