I forget how much I love this place! We recently stopped in at Antonio's Pizza to pick up a few slices on the go and was excited to see all of my options. I ended up getting a pesto tortellini and honey mustard chicken which were delicious as always. My niece who joined along loved the place as well and though that the pizza was incredible. Usually the staff here can be a little rough around the edges due to dealing with students all the time, but they were really polite to my little niece who took forever to decide what she wanted to eat. I am happy that we dropped in for lunch and can't wait to go back soon! read more

This was my first time visiting my boyfriend in MA. On his recommendation, we decided to go to Antonio's to pick up some slices to bring home for dinner. Sure, the place isn't very big but it's perfectly fine for a quick slice on the go. The best thing about this pizza joint (at least for me) was that they offer a vegan option, woo-to-the-hoo! Fabulous slices. The black bean and beef burrito slice was on point. I also enjoyed a tortellini pesto slice. The crust is outstanding light and crispy and it bled up to the toppings. Perfect thin crust ratio, great job. The mozzarella is key here people, it is a creamy melts chest not the least bit chewy! The guys behind the counter are top shelf and fast. The guy sweeping up and cleaning the tables was polite thoughtful and commuted to excellence. This is a great pizza joint and they seem to work good as a team. Their singing was a little off but we are not there to hear bad karaoke we are there for really good unusual pizza. read more

Wow, what else can I say but wow. This is by far the best pizza place I have ever been to. They don't disappoint at all! They have so many refreshing different flavors and aren't scared to try new flavors. Everything I have tried there tasted awesome! I wish there was a place like this in around where I live. I ended up getting this vegetarian burrito pizza, which had mushrooms, rice, beans, cheese and a couple of other things. It was a little weird eating rice on pizza, definitely a first for me, but it actually tasted really good! I also tried their avocado quesadilla which had avocado, cheese, tortilla chips and so much flavor! I was a little more nervous about this one, because I wasn't sure how the tortilla chips would be on the pizza. But again, this went really well together and the flavor was great! The chips added great texture as well (I was a little nervous that they would be soggy, but they weren't at all) Overall the place is pretty small and it fills up pretty fast. There are only a couple of seats in the restaurant, so you should make plans to get it to go if it is during busy times. The workers are nice and really helpful about helping people decide what to get (if you're like me and struggle to make decisions) They also inform you exactly what is on the pizza. The price for the pizza is also great (a good deal for what you get). Also umass students get a discount! I've had this years ago back when I used to come to the zoo to party and I remember with every trip an Antonio's pit stop was a must. Recently I've been reunited with this delicious spot because now, I actually have a good reason to come out there. Also, the gf surprised me with my favorite slice when she came home. Anyways, I think they have the most creative and best pizza I'd ever had. I mean they slices with tortellini and chips on them! If there creations are too out there for you, they do have the traditional option as well. Sauce is sweet, plenty of cheese, and crispy crust, what's not to love? My personal favorite is the steak burrito, cheesy beefy and crispy (damn I sound like a taco bell commercial). The place gets crowded and the line is pretty awkward, makes you just want to get in, get out, and get to grubbin. If every pizza shop would leave the slice in the oven, when reheating a little longer, they can probably have that crispier slice, not a sad droopy mess (learn something from this place). Antonio's pizza is the perfect horrendously overpriced, incredulously mediocre, and socially disabled set for D-list freelance celebrities to unburden themselves of self-respect. To be fair in an unfair world, I must admit that I have never come across pizza that was not mediocre, which is why Antonio's gets 5 stars. I would also like to add that the mirror placement at the west facing counter is dysphoria-inducing for the intoxicated (so I've been told; I have no personal experiences with this) and existential crisis-encouraging for the rest of us. By FAR the best pizza in the A-10! No trip to Amherst/UMass is complete without their buffalo chicken pizza, and wide variety of other specialties. It has long been a signature of Amherst, even getting their own webcam installed to monitor what kind of a crowd you can find outside. I recommend getting pizza to go, or eating outside in nice weather. There is not guaranteed to be adequate seating in the place to consistently keep up with their popularity, and the tables are very close together and without any modern comforts such as a cell phone charger or a cushiony seat. But it is a worthwhile destination when you are hungry, one which I never pass up when I am in the town of Amherst! read more

Antonios makes very good gf pizza..if you call ahead. Unfortunately, they stop serving gluten free pizza after 9/9:30 p.m. I am not a fan of this since celiac disease / gluten allergies have no time limit. Although they do not advertise gluten free pizza, they do make it. Their pizza is very good but I would recommend calling ahead and specifying that you have a gluten allergy so they can prepare your pizza safely. This is a very good pizzeria but I do not believe in the fact that they stop serving gluten free after a certain time. read more

Self-proclaimed pizza expert here, and I say their pizza is excellent. Reminds me of a good NYC corner pizzeria. Go early evening for a slice and you'll have plenty of options. Go late at night and still will find a few good choices available. Order a fresh pie, that will do you the most justice. Big slices, tasty sauce, cheesy, and great crust. Lots of creative toppings. I think Antonio's is the one restaurant I miss in Amherst. Being from NYC I can be a Pizza snob, but Antonio's came eeeeh close. If you're a Umass student haven't been to Antonio's, this is something you have to fix before graduation. Every pizza they have here is spectacular. It definitely gets crazy on Friday and Saturday nights, but they're one dollar pizza will always bring me there. I am a huge fan of their Honey mustard chicken! This place has terrible customer service. A customer should never have to apologize for not receiving their food and wanting a refund! I ordered a large avocado quesadilla pizza from here on NYE which I assumed would be busy, so I prepared for a wait. I placed the order for DELIVERY (gave them address, zip code, card #, phone #, etc.) at 9:26pm. 10:30 rolls around and my pizza has still not arrived, so I called and politely asked if the pizza had been ready and if it was on it's way. Before I could even get the words out I was interrupted by the man on the phone who said, "yeah your pizza's been ready for awhile you can come get it now". I told him "What?? I ordered for delivery, I already paid, gave you the address and everything" Again, interrupted "Well we stopped delivering at 10 *laughs*" I was so frustrated I just asked for my money back and the guy says "I can't give you the money back but you can come pick it up" and I said "Well I didn't order it for pick up and you were given all of my info and never even bothered to call so can you please give me my money back" He then says he doesn't know how to refund me back on my card (really????) I told him then transfer me to someone who knows how to because I'm not paying $20.86 for something I didn't get. He hands over the phone without telling me and no one spoke so I said 'hello?', the guy answered very irritated saying "you're all set" all set with what?? "I gave you a refund" I said thank you and apologized because I know NYE is a busy day and to have a good new year. What I got in return? He hangs up. So yeah I'm actually mortified by the fact this place has such good reviews. Maybe this is a place you should only do take out, or at least NOT on nye... This place needs to teach their staff how to treat people, and if you stop delivering at a certain time, tell the customer, don't take the order address and payment and then tell them to come pick it up! read more

My ultimate favorite is the nacho pizza, which is literally loaded nachos on pizza. The prices are a little higher, but worth it for what you eat! Spectacular Selection of Slices. Rated tops in the state and its for all the right reasons. They have this awesome lineup of slices to pick from. They do the reheat in the pie oven and serve it piping hot. The staff is super busy but they put out the friendly and get it done.
