Two things: ONE, I can't believe this place has not had a review since April of 2010! TWO, I am SO MAD that I did not snap pictures of what I had from Primo's to share the awesomeness that you all need to get with ASAP. This place is a hidden gem in the sense that everyone overlooks this place because of all the supposedly "better" food spots that Amherst offers. For a touch of home cooked food mixed with money value plates, Primo Pizzeria Too is the place to order from! The other night my boyfriend and I ordered pasta from here, me getting the Primo Alfredo Specialty (spicy alfredo sauce, sausage, chicken, salami, red peppers and broccoli all tossed together with linguini pasta) and my boyfriend got the Primo Choy Suey (ziti, ground beef, marinara sauce, romano cheese). When the guy took our order he made a mistake on the Chop Suey and it got delivered to us with tuna added in. We quickly called back after realizing this, and they were so nice to not only make us another one fast and deliver it to us, but allowed us to keep the mistake! I would give you another five stars Primo for having nice staff! The pasta, weighing probably about THREE POUNDS EACH, also comes with a side salad with the dressing of your choice!(!) and four garlic knots baked to delicious garlicky perfection! PRIMOS IS NO JOKE! If you're ever in Amherst and you need a place to eat and can't decide because of all the other bright lights from the other restaurants in town that don't offer the quality like PRIMO's, I AM TELLING YOU, GO STRAIGHT TO PRIMO'S!

Delivery tonight was ridiculously long. 1.25 hours from order. Told 45 minutes. Probably good pizza but too cold to appreciate.

Waited an hour and 45 mins for very average food. Don't order from here unless you like waiting way too long, and food that's just okay.

We got up the first flight and gave our party number (2), they asked if we were okay to sit upstairs. We said sure, why not, especially as the first floor was decently crowded. We got upstairs and it was so serene and intimate, I couldn't have asked for a better seat. The view of Amherst center was beautiful. Perfect weather, blue skies...I digress! Our server, (who's name I wish I remembered!!) was incredibly helpful and offered recommendations to us as neither of us had been there before. We started with the breaded shrimp with marinara...YUM. If you're a shrimp fan, do yourself a favor and order this. Next came some complimentary bread and oil, which you can never go wrong with. Then entrees. The chicken verdicchio was mine and it was delicious. The mushrooms were tender, the artichoke hearts were a perfect addition. I tried my boyfriend's Alfredo and that too was delicious. Price was pretty decent as well, especially for what felt like a fancy place. $12 for the 7 shrimp, $26 for the Crazy Alfredo and $27 for the verdicchio. We packed up the leftovers and even the next day they were delicious.

I've never had a problem at Pasta E Basta with my favorite meal: Crazy Alfredo until this visit. I first got the wrong dinner and when they brought me the correct one, it was so over the top with black pepper I could not eat it!!! I did not ask for extra. Not sure if the cook was mad I returned the wrong dish or what. My friend had the same dish and his was perfect. Really disappointed. I should have sent it back. I suffered through a few bites and was done with it.

The restaurant resides in an older, well kept building in the small downtown area of the rural Town of South Deerfield. The interior of the restaurant is small, but welcoming, with an L-shaped bar for approximately (12) persons which accommodates food service, and table seating for approximately 50-60. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday, and by 6pm it was full; reservations are highly recommended. With regards to the food, everything was absolutely amazing! We started with the Fried Calamari (appetizer), which is my 'go to' as I both love it, and feel it is a perfect test of a kitchen's abilities, as it is a simple appetizer, but can be easily cooked poorly; this calamari was perfectly cooked (not chewy), and both lightly battered and flavored for a momentus start to our food experience. We also started with the Roasted Mushrooms (appetizer), and while I did not sample, the other members of my party thoroughly enjoyed. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue (house specialty), which incorporated prosciutto and a unique creamy parmigiano sage rose sauce. The execution of the chicken preparation along with the sauce showcased the talent in the kitchen, reminding me that Gianni Figs is a chef owned restaurant. The other members of the table enjoyed Pasta Carbonara (traditional pasta), Grill to Table Scallops and Chicken Cacciatori (ribeye, chicken, & veal), all which I was informed were amazing! One minor critique as I pretend to be a legitimate food reviewer, is a consideration for the interior ambiance of the right side of the restaurant. If the right side were to more closely resemble the left side, with the addition of some wood, decor and softer lighting, it would create a warmer atmosphere for patrons. Additionally, a door or some type of partition to the kitchen entrance would also elevate the setting for those sitting adjacent to. Lastly, while I understand things will never go back to pre-2020, and the world is an altered place, with altered standards, I will note that multiple tables included patrons wearing ball caps and hooded/printed weatshirts while eating. Considering Gianni Figs food to be higher-dining quality, the dress code did not align and affects the ambiance. Food Rating: 4.5/5 Ambiance Rating: 3.75/5 Overall Rating: 4.125/5

The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of an architecturally pleasing brick building, with the interior ambiance (decor & lighting) fitting of the food style, setting a comforting mood along with the classic 50's/60's Italian American music. All around the food was both tasteful and comforting, similar to what I remember my Nonni would make. From the Calamari Friitti (appetizer) served with both a marinara and vodka sauce, the Meatballs (appetizer) of a classic beef and pork blend, to the Chicken Francaise (dinner), everything combined for a delicious meal. Mulino's is a great estaurant to visit with your spouse or friends for a nice 'family' dinner without being overly fancy/stuffy. One minor critique as I pretend to be a legitimate food reviewer, add a slight touch more butter to the Chicken Francaise sauce. My son and I collectively rated Mulino's: 4.25/5.

While our table was being set up outside, we enjoyed a drink at the bar--the 15-minute wait was absolutely worth it. The outdoor setting was beautiful, with greenery creating a relaxed summer vibe and live music playing under a small tent, adding to the atmosphere. Our server was equally delightful--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Now, the food: outstanding. We started with the beets and peas salad, which was bursting with flavor--our plates were practically licked clean. The house arugula salad was crisp, fresh, and perfectly balanced with a light, lemony vinaigrette. For mains, we shared the roasted half chicken and the bucatini. Both were phenomenal. I rarely order chicken at restaurants since it often feels too plain, but this one was perfection--crispy skin, juicy meat, and seasoning that carried through every bite. The bucatini, made with homemade pasta and loaded with crispy pancetta, was absolutely irresistible. We couldn't resist finishing with the "Little Mason Jar" dessert, which was indulgent and delicious. Everything--from the service to the food to the ambiance--was exceptional. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to the area
