Love coming here for their pizzas. Not sure what it is, I think it's their red sauce I really enjoy. My favorite to get is the bacon pizza. However, there was one time I had called to order for pickup and asked for a bacon pizza pie. A female had picked up the phone and told me they can't make it for me. Super weird and suspicious as my man bought a bacon pizza pie the week prior and no one refused him. To make sure I wasn't going crazy, I had my bf go back to order a few days later and the guys there did not blink & made us the most delicious bacon pie. Not sure why I was refused but Antonio's should train their employees a bit better. Lost a star because of that BUT the pizza makes up for it. read more

Good interiors and chairs inside to sit and eat . There are also a couple of tables outside to enjoy the cool breeze . Nice and quick service . We ordered a Stromboli (cheese and spinach) , pizza and cheese freschetta. They made them quick and it tasted good . Parking is the only issue here . Main Street is busy and tough to get parking . There are some paid parking on the backside .. today we luckily got a free parking on the main road . Nice experience overall. Pizzas and Strombolis tasted good . Amazing service. Ordered through door dash but door dash cancelled so they personally delivered even though we were out of the area. The margerita is amazing. Finally some pizza with real substance and integrity. Loved the the unique flavors of their crushed finished off with their wood fire plus their sauce olive oil basil combo with the fresh mozzarella. I'm here for the pizza - could care less for the ambiance. Small shop that has seating inside and outside on the curb. Not a huge showcase but 6 pies were available for slices - they'll definitely make you a pie or a sub. I didn't look at the menu but it looked like a trifold with choices on the back of the menu too. Guy at the front was friendly and when I asked if they would deliver to the town over, he looked to the driver and he said yes. I think I just found another spot for pizza. I forgot to check in last night but I ordered the same thing, a traditional plain slice. Nice effing crunch - I have been searching for this quality for a bit (see my other pizza reviews). My boyfriend ordered takeout through Grubhub. He ordered me spaghetti with garlic and oil and asked them not to put cheese, marked it as an allergy because I cannot digest dairy. Well, it arrived full of cheese. I ate two mouthfuls before I realized it and stopped. He called them to confirm, they indeed put cheese in my meal even though he said "NO CHEESE DAIRY ALLERGY" on the note. The manager was extremely rude and said complain to Grubhub. The note was there, they just never read it. If I hadn't stopped eating, I would have been sick for days. Even right now I feel incredibly nauseous. Very careless and very rude. The service was amazing! The lady behind the counter was polite and gave us wine glasses. The only reason for the 4 stars is because we REALLY Wished they had ice for the water. The charcuterie board was delish! Broken glass in my food and the owner was just icing on the cake. A few months back, I ordered food for my wife and kids. During dinner, I chomped on a piece of glass that was in the pizza. (Thank goodness it was me and not my children) I called to politely let the owner know to check his sauce because I bit on glass. I wasn't upset at all, but I wanted to make the owner aware. His response was unbelievable, His exact words were "Impossible, there's no way... thanks but no thanks" I told him it was possible because it's in the food! He proceeded to hang up on me. I'd like to give places the benefit, but this was unacceptable. I guarantee he kept using the same batch of ingredients to his customers the rest of the night regardless of the danger. This place was very small. At first, I did not think there was anywhere to sit for waiter service, but that was not the case. There were about 10 or so tables. The menu was very extensive with subs, Italian dinners, pizzas, etc. The service was appreciated, but chicken was left off a pasta dish that someone at my table order. We started off with a large Buffalo chicken pizza ($18.95). It was delicious. The chicken had a slight kick to it while the crust was slightly crispy. The chicken was of good quality too. There was also not a heavy amount of ranch dressing, which was pleasant. I prefer bleu cheese with buffalo chicken, but ranch was okay. I ordered a grilled chicken salad ($7.95). It was a typical house salad with chicken strips. There was plenty of chicken and all the toppings (spring mix, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions) appeared to be fresh. I also tried the stuffed rigatoni with pesto. It was tasty. The pesto was not too powerful and the rigatoni was cooked just right. Will I go back? Easily. read more

BURNT! COLD! CHEWY! All things you NEVER wan to use to describe a freshly delivered pizza. The ENTIRE crust is literally BLACK. The cheese and pepperoni severely over cooked as well. The entire pizza is INEDIBLE! I don't wanna hear "oh this is what Brick Oven pizza is supposed to look like" because if that was the case all the pizza they serve in the restaurant would look like that. I absolutely love this place. Relaxed atmosphere with food that is easily comparable to most local Italian restaurants. Their pizza is perfectly balanced and always crispy. Never too much grease but just enough for the perfect slice. Last night on NYE's, my friends and I decided to go to a party in Metuchen. We also decided we wanted to have dinner before the party and discovered Anthony's. With a party of 5 there was a free table and later, we moved to the bigger table so everyone was comfortable. Upon entering I was immediately impressed that there was a real coal fired oven and the array of pizza selections. My party and I ordered shrimp scampi, penne vodka pasta, the ravioli's, an order of meatballs, gluten free personal pizza and the classic margarita pizza. Everything was delicious and perfect. The pizzas were cooked just right, the meatballs were soft and scrumptious, the raviolis were devoured, the scampi was sweet and the penne vodka was quickly eaten. Our waitress, Kat, was attentive, funny and hospitable (even on a crazy night that was NYE's). We called ahead of time and were told the place was closing early at 7:30pm. They let us stay a little later to digest and hang out. Go to this pizzeria in Metuchen. It's very worth it. I'll be coming back! read more

Antonio's is a small brick oven pizzeria in the heart of Metuchen. The atmosphere is casual and I really appreciated the various paintings, awards, and art hanging around the restaurant. This decor really added a level of comfort to the restaurant that gave it more of a friendly, neighborhood restaurant feel. While the restaurant is small, there is still a decent amount of seating. The service was quick and our server was very friendly. We decided to order the Margherita pie. The crust was beautifully browned in the manner that only a wood oven can do. It was fluffy and had a pleasant smokey flavor. The cheese was fresh and the tomato sauce was rich and tangy. The added tomatoes also tasted great and added a level to this Margherita pie, though they also brought an added bit of messiness, as they had the tendency to slide off of the slice. Overall, I was very pleased with the flavors I got from the pie and definitely hope to try their deep-dish Margherita and see how that compares. read more

Sorry, would love to give a good review but they are not honoring over $150 in gift cards they sold us for our kids so after all these years of loyal patronage, our family is done. We tried for weeks to make this right, talking to the manager (and through him) the owner. The owner wouldn't even speak to us directly. Sorry. Started a new job in the area and I asked my coworkers where's the nearest best pizzeria' they didn't really have a recommendations so I just randomly picked Antonio's as the name involved Brick Oven and if you know anything about pizza this is the way! I dined in with my coworker and brought back a specialty pie for the office. We split the eggplant parm and I had the Claims Linguine entree and my coworker ordered the baked ziti entree. The service was quick and when the food was served OMG the smell was wonderful. Definitely an authentic NY style pizzeria! We both loved our lunch and beyond satisfied. My coworker had no clue this place existed. When we got back, the office immediately smelled the baked ziti pie and devoured every part of the pie. Needless to say this might be the go to pizzeria for us from now on! I'll try n post another review next time we go as I plan on trying the entire menu. read more

I have ordered from Antonio's over the past two years, since moving to the Metuchen area. I was always impressed by their food and never had a bad experience. Yesterday I ordered from Grubhub and the delivery came pretty quick. We got a plain Sicilian pie with salad and garlic bread. The house salad was fine, the garlic bread was sub-par, and the pizza was awful. I couldn't believe how different the pizza was from the last time I had ordered (pre-COVID) and how or why it would have changed so much. The pizza crust it self was extremely soggy and fairly flat, for a Sicilian slice. The cheese was not fresh and rather gross. But the worst part was the sauce, it had tasted as if something metallic or raw was cooked with it. We had to throw out the pizza and resorted to eating a bag of chips for dinner. I'm not sure what happened to the quality of the pizza but it has definitely declined since the last time I had ate there. Really sad and disappointed. read more
