Price: (4/5) Large is $20 which seems on par with other pizza places. Food: (4/5) I liked the pizza but it didn't wow me. It was a really thin crust pizza and it had a lot of cheese which I liked. For NJ, this is up there for best pizza's I've had, but not my absolute favorite. Service: (5/5) The pizza came out quickly and I appreciated the staff. I ordered at 7:40 on Memorial Day- so yea, probably a busy time. I got the notice my order would arrive around 8:30, then immediately got a new notice that the delivery time was 9. Ok, I can deal with that. But at 9 the food was nowhere to be found, and when I went to the app it said the new delivery time was 940-10. Food showed up just before 10, so over a 2 hour wait. It was stone cold. The box the pizza came in wasn't even warm. Impressive. The meatball parm was still warm, which was awesome for me becuase that let the sauce and heat turn the bun into mush. They also turned by sausage pepper and onion sub, which I ordered in case the meatball parm was too mushy, into a sausage parm which was, you guessed it, also mushy. I'm not going to comment on how anything tasted. I am so angry over ordering from here I'm just going to leave this comment so I know never to try it again. read more

I have always ordered from here. However, the pizza has increasingly been too soggy and the cheese is very oily. The sandwiches do not have enough food in them (eggplant, chicken, etc). They use a tremendous amount of cheese to make up for the missing "food".... again, the cheese is very oily. Very disappointed with their quality. Has been my favorite local pizza place for the last four years. Consistently great crust, delicious sauce, efficient service. Always makes a great grandma pie or margherita. Sometimes will get the wings which are pretty crispy and come with the Buffalo sauce on the side. All around solid place, will always be my go-to for a slice or a full pie. read more

First moved to Edison one year ago. La Rosa was my go to take out/pizza place. Over the past few months I've had issues dealing with Eat Street (which you have to use to order from) and the restaurant. This evening, I ordered a pizza. From order to delivery it took over an hour. Opened the pizza box...ICE COLD AND SOGGY. Called the restaurant and the guy said that his delivery guy was busy and they had somebody call out. Not my problem and if that's the case call me. Said he would give me a credit next time. "Oh I'll remember you who you are..." Didn't believe it. Chatted with Eat Street support and Eat Street offered me a 5.00 coupon but since La Rosa uses their own drivers that's all he could offer but would contact the restaurant. Contacts them and now all of a sudden the story changes. He said the guy will now offer me a 10 percent discount. No credit. A 10 percent discount. If he gave me 10 percent off my order tonight it would amount to maybe 2 dollars. Keep your ten percent. Francesco's is better anyway. Stay away from this place. There are other Italian food restaurants better than this one anyway. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the medium size that is good portion to eat with my family member. They are friendly and accommodating to customize the change of bacon to mushrooms. La Rosa II's main location is in Metuchen. I consider myself lucky to have this branch so close to my house. These guys make good old Jersey style pizza PERFECTLY. Yeah, it's not a coal-fired brick oven - just your good old standard metal gas oven - but somehow the bottom of the pie tastes like a real coal-fired oven pizza. They toss 'em so the crust is thin throughout and just crunchy, just doughy enough on the outer crust. They use a less greasy cheese and the sauce is rich and tomatoey, with whole leaves of fresh basil throughout. As reasonably priced as it gets, really quick, takes credit cards. I've gotten pizza from La Rosa II several times, both picked it up locally from the store and delivery. The service has always friendly and fast. The pizza itself is the best I've had in new Jersey, not overly greasy and fresh tasting. They offer a variety of toppings; sliced meatballs, spinach, broccoli are some of the more interesting ones. A great cheese/sauce combined with the fact that they really load-up the pizza with those toppings leads to a rather flavorful pie. Not being a Jersey local, I cannot comment on whether it is "traditional", but for what it's worth I would say it's certainty an east-coast style. One big plus for me is the fact that they are willing to deliver to Busch campus. Well, they have the cheese for their nachos but I order it on my fries. SO AMAZING! Their cannolis are also super awesome!!! I love getting those for dessert. Just tried this place for the first time, even tho we've lived in HP for a while. We were very pleasantly surprised. The cheese pizza as well as the mushroom and Italian sausage were fantastic. And their salad game is on POINT! we got the Cobb salad and every ingredient was seemingly made in house and super fresh. Even the bacon bits seemed fried up just today. The only critique was that the garlic knots weren't twisted so the inside wasn't as garlic-ey as a true garlic addict would desire. Over all, wonderful experience. We will be back!! read more
